So, basically in this thread I want you to tell about the best experiments you've ever done. Whether that means the most succesful, the most fun, or the most that you learned from is up to you.
Describe the experiment and its purpose, and what happened as a result. Did something explode? Did your test subjects grow an extra eye? Did the juice turn purple? Tell us! smile

Oh, there was a nice one happened this monday. I heated some flamable stuff with silver, I dont know exactly what that was anymore - I have it noted anywhere, solved in diluted HCl in a test tube that was closed with some plug with a hole and a thin glaspipe. You could see a nice gas developement, but when you tried to ignite the gas on the pipes end, it had to be CH4, nothing happened. I tried it several times in a row while carefully heating the solvation. Well, somehow I managed to close the end of the pipe by melting it, and so, after I heated somewhat more, my whole test tube blew up with some big WHAM and the black solvation soaked the backplane of my fume cupboard.
Well it was funny, but I had to clean my whole fume cupboard afterwards -.-'
