Techincally we didn't hate the demons first. They hate us. When a Demon fights with an angel it gets them mad because of self defense.

Perhaps hate is not the way, though. Did our Progenitor not teach us to love thine enemies instead?
If they wish to hate, why not fight them with love? Befriend the dark ones and allow them to come to the light on their own. Hate and violence only continues the cycle; you can break that cycle by loving and forgiving those who wish evil upon you 3nodding
