Jerard looked silently from the TECHNICIAN to the WEAPON pair standing behind her, eyebrow raised as he considered this new turn of events. He had suspected that the twin fans would eventually pick an indecisive female partner, but Kang Ling Deng was such a meek character.
Well, it was done.
"Congratulations, though this particular partnership was somewhat unexpected. I hope it works out well for the three of you."
"As you should already have realized, Kang, as your WEAPON choice is actually two individual WEAPONS, there will be an increase in the requirements for promotion." Jerard handed the girl in front of him a sheet of paper containing a full explanation. "Now. Ashley has volunteered to take the three of you around the school, answering any questions you may have. She should arrive outside any minute now. While I know that you may have already explored the area, some places, such as the Missions office which were previously restricted, will now be available to you."
With that, Jerard stood, signifying the meeting was at an end.

Her legs were bent inwards and shaking. She could see the incredulousness in his grey eyes, and Kang Ling couldn’t blame the administrator. It was a pretty odd combination. Who would have expected the twins to pick a shy girl like her? Rainer certainly liked her enough, but Caine was another matter.
Speaking of Caine . . .
She glanced over at the two boys. They were a peculiar pair. First off, Rainer (the older twin) constantly carried around sleeping Caine (the younger twin) on his back. It was an odd circumstance, although at least she could infer that their relationship was pretty decent. Not much else could be said, though.
‘Unexpected, indeed,’ she thought and silently took the paper, timidly bowing her head. Caramel eyes scanned the paper, keeping an ear open to listen to the rest of Jerard’s words.
As soon as the last word left the adult’s mouth, Rainer slapped Kang Ling on the back, causing her to shriek. “Ain’t that great, Kang Ling? Ashie’s gonna show us around the school!” he remarked, ushering the smaller girl out the door, his brother still on his back.
“It’s not like we need a tour, though. We can all get around school just fine, right?” Caine’s voice rang out from behind the two and it cut particularly sharp to Kang Ling.
She hastily replied, “Y-Yes!” The twins having attended Shibusen for a while now, it was obvious that they knew their way around. As for Kang Ling, this was still her first week, but at least she could say that she worked well with maps.
And then the trio began to wait.

As she walked down the hallway towards Jerard's office - was she late? - Ashie wondered what it was exactly that he'd wanted her to do. Show students around SHIBUSEN? Why would they need to be shown? The questions still running through her head, Ashie reached the office, and the trio waiting outside. She noted absently that the office door was closed, but that was nothing unusual... the three waiting for her, however, was another story.
Tilting her head to her left, she eyed the twins. She'd met them before, of course, but to be guiding them around the school seemed strange, especially since they had already been here for quite a while. Their partner - Kang, was it? - seemed to be terrified of the situation she was in, and Ashie felt a momentary pang of sympathy for her. Holding out her hand, she giggled before introducing herself to the girl.
"Heheee~ I know Caine and Rainer, but who are you? I'm Ashley, but you can call me Ashie - most everyone does."
Lowering her voice, she leaned in a little bit closer to Rainer. "Hey Rain, what were we supposed to be doing again?"

A woman with dark-colored hair approached them and offered out her hand to the younger female. Kang Ling shyly eyed it before grasping the outstretched hand with her own, loosely grasping it. “H-Hello . . . I-I’m K-K-Kang L-Li-Ling . . .” Her voice was soft and grew even quieter the more she spoke. “O-Okay then . . . I-It’s ni-nice to me-me-meet y-you.”
Rainer smiled back, shifting his dozing twin’s weight a little before nodding his head to show his greetings. The older woman leaned forward and he did the same, a curious look on his face. At Ashie’s question his sky blue eyes lit up. He opened his mouth to answer. “Oh yeah! Since we got a partner Jerard’s having you---”
“---show us around the school, you dimwit.” Caine stared at the Death Scythe through drowsy, disinterested eyes. “Really. I don’t see how you can qualify as a Death Scythe with that flimsy memory of yours.”
Satisfied that he had gotten his few words in, his eyelids drooped and he resumed his slumber. While Rainer offered Ashie an apologetic smile, Kang Ling could only stare at Caine with shock and awe. His actions befuddled her so.

"Kang! You're new to SHIBUSEN, aren't you? Well, welcome. I hope you'll enjoy your stay here, it's so fun!" Ashie giggled as she spoke, blue eyes vibrating with enthusiasm. She liked the look of this new student, though she couldn't quite understand why the student looked so nervous, since it was a state the Ashley was rarely ever in.
The insult went up and over Ashley's head as her eyes lit up with excitement. It was apparent that Ashie was finally remembering what it was that she had been requested to do, and wanted to do it. With a cheerful "Oh yeah! C'mon then, follow meeeeeee!", she turned and headed down the hallway, back the way she came.
As she walked, Ashie continued to speak, happily pointing out random (and useless) locations as she went. "Sooo... heehee, this is where the classrooms are, though classroom #5 doesn't get used for classes. People giggle in there a lot, and Alexis told me not to go in, so I rarely ever do. We're walking down towards the Missions department, since I think that's where Jerard said I absolutely had to take you guys to..."
She stopped right in front of a door, and pressed one finger dramatically to her lips, dropping her voice to a low whisper. "Shh... by the way, this is Alexis' office." Forgetting herself for a second, Ashie then followed this pronouncement with a loud giggle, ruining the entire effect. "Hm.. Any questions so far?"

The woman was a bit peculiar in her own ways too, Kang Ling finally concluded. The comment not even fazing her in the tiniest bit, she seemed more delighted to remember why she was sent here. Well, at least Ashie wasn’t miffed at Caine. She was dreading that an event like that would happen. Kang wasn’t exactly a fan of conflict between friends and acquaintances. If a fight had broken out right then and there, well, she wasn’t quite sure what she would have done.
Ashie turned around and went down the hallway she had previously arrived from, calling out to follow her. Kang Ling hastily followed her, Rainer coming behind at a more easygoing pace, still carrying Caine like he was some sort of backpack. The elder male curiously tilted his head and stared at his technician’s back. Even dense Rainer could feel the waves of nervousness coming off of her. “Kang, just chill. You need to relax more.”
She glanced back at the boy and hesitantly nodded her head, although she couldn’t guarantee that she would be able to follow his advice. Turning her attention back to their “tour guide”, Kang Ling paid careful attention to the locations she pointed out, useful or useless as they were. Upon the mention of the giggling inside classroom #5, she could guess what happened inside and her face flushed red. “I-I see . . .”
Rainer, on the other hand, was clueless. “Huh. Maybe they’re watching a funny movie inside?” Caine still remained silent, sleeping.
As they arrived at the Missions department and outside Alexis’ office, Kang Ling remained completely silent, careful to not disturb the woman. Rainer, on the other hand, giggled along with Ashie, shaking his head to show that he didn’t have any questions.
“N-No q-qu-questions . . .”

Ashie considered Rainer's words for a full three seconds before she responded. "I don't know, Rainer. There isn't a TV screen in there or anything! People just laugh and squeal a lot in that particular classroom." The entire situation was completely beyond her comprehension, so Ashie had never bothered to try and figure out what exactly went on behind those closed doors.
"I believe.. possibly..." She frowned as she tried to remember the memory that teased at the corner of her brain, "there may be a TV screen in classroom #7, but -" her eyes flew wide. "I'm not supposed to know that existed. Oopsie!"
The black haired girl was immensely cheered by the fact that the boy had found the situation just as amusing as she, though she frowned as Kang continued to stutter. Because she usually was a straightforward person, she leaned down to put her face parallel to Kang's before asking quietly. "Is this scaring you? Why are you stuttering so much? I didn't think I'm scary, teehee! ... Wait till you meet Alexis!"
With that, Ashie all but bounced down the hallway once more, until she reached a billboard. "This is the missions pick-up board. All available missions are usually posted here... and though I'm not allowed to touch it, you can! Just choose whichever one catches your eye, and let one of the Missions staff know."
"Let's see..." Ashie cocked her head, brilliant blue eyes aimed towards the ceiling as she tried to figure out if she'd missed anything. "Was there anything I could've forgotten..?"

His expression became thoughtful as he let that fact soak into his brain. Well, that was puzzling. “Gee. That’s weird. I wonder what they’re laughing at? Maybe I should pop inside there someday,” mused Rainer.
The younger sibling snorted in his brother’s ear, drowsily blinking his eyes. “A word of advice, I wouldn’t do that if I were you, Rainer,” With the warning said, his body relaxed and he fell asleep as quickly as he had woken up. Watching his figure, Kang Ling couldn’t but agree with the blonde male. Although not the nicest guy around the block, he at least was sensible. On the other hand, it seemed that his elder twin was the opposite.
At the mention of classroom #7, Rainer’s eyes mischievously twinkled. “Yeah, because school stuff totally don’t know about that class,” he answered and leaned towards the confused Kang. “We’ll show you that place later. It’s a secret shop, basically.”
Out of nowhere, Ashie leaned forward to meet Kang Ling eye-to-eye, causing her to let out a surprised ‘eep’ and shrink back, holding her arms close to her chest. Thoughts swirling in her head, she trembled, the mantra “Too close, too close!” ringing in her head. “O-Oh . . . I-I-It’s not th-that . . . J-J-Ju-Just m-my p-pe-personality . . .” she meekly replied, face flushed at the suddenly close face.
Once the older woman pulled her head back, Kang Ling breathed a sigh of relief and the tour continued on like nothing unusual had happened. Ashie gestured towards the billboard and the Asian wordlessly nodded her head, taking note of the location. Asking to see if she had forgotten anything in her tour, Rainer piped in with a cheerful smile, “I think we’re good, Ashie! If ya forgot something, Caine and I will be sure to help out our little technician.”

Ashie's face turned suddenly sober as she nodded, her eyes oddly losing their dreamy cheerful quality to take on a more serious light. "Some staff don't know about that class. Please don't mention it in front of them, the consequences could be... very bad."
Warning said, she stuck her tongue out and made a face, as if it had never happened. "Your personality?" Ashie considered this for a moment before her face lit up with understanding. "OH! You're shy!" Reaching out, Ashie patted Kang on the head as one would a very small kitten before continuing, looking over to where Rainer was still carrying his brother. "You're so cute. Isn't she cute, Rainer?"
"Anyway," Ashie's transparent blue eyes reflected the brightness of her tone, "I'm pretty sure this is all that Jerard asked me to show you guys. If there's anything I forgot, then you guys know where to find things, right?"

Rainer gravely nodded his head. “That’s right. I wouldn’t mention it in front of staff unless they did first,” he added, shuddering at the thought of the consequences of a minor slip of the tongue.
Surprised at the suddenly-serious pair, Kang Ling meekly nodded her head, sure to follow their words. Still new to the school, she was unaware of which members of staff they were referring to, but she was a smidge too shy to ask.
Ashie was mildly confused about the Chinese’s reply before finally realizing that yes; Kang Ling was a shy girl. A hand reached out to gently pat the younger girl on the head, she nervously lowered her gaze. Her face flushed pink at the compliment. “I-I w-wouldn’t sa-say th-th-that . . .” she weakly protested.
“Nonsense! Kang is way way cute!” Rainer heartily disagreed. He would have gotten Caine to join in as well, but he knew well enough that the younger boy couldn’t be bothered. “Yup! We’re all set, Ashie!”

"Oookay then! I guess that's it!" With a giggle and a quick wave, Ashie turned, heading towards the door that they'd paused in front of moments before. "Imma go visit Axie now! I hope you guys have fun!"
