"Egyptian Spine Lizard" discovered in 1912 by Markgraf in Marsa Matruh, Egypt and described by Dr. Ernst Stromer von Reichenbach in 1915. Spinosaurus lived during the Middle Cretaceous Period about 110 million to 90 million years ago. Spinosaurus was over 12 meters (40 feet) in length and could even possibly reach up to 18 meters (60 feet) in length, stood 5 to 6 meters (16-20 feet) in height, & weighed 7 to 9 tons in weight. When its sail is included in vertical measurements it was approximately 6.5-7.5 meters (22-25 feet) tall. The most complete skeleton of a Spinosaurus was destroyed in 1944 during a bombing raid on Munich, Germany during World War II.

Spinosaurus can be found on Isla Sorna, though never witnessed by both the expeditions that visited the island in 1997, most likely due to the region they were in on Sorna. In 2001 it was witnessed by a rescue team searching for the son of Paul & Amanda Kirby after he was stranded on Isla Sorna during a parasailing accident. Billy Brennan thought it was a Suchomimus tenerensis, but was clearly wrong. He was trying to identify the animal and failed miserably (This is why he suggested Suchomimus and Baryonyx walkeri.) Dr. Alan Grant identified it as Spinosaurus aegyptiacus and made the comment that it wasn't on InGen's species list. This is because it was an undisclosed dinosaur species of InGen's. Spinosaurus has a close related species called Baryonyx walkeri that can be found on both Isla Nublar & Sorna.

It's also possible that InGen's Spinosaurus was misclassified as a Baryonyx when it was added to the list. Meaning Baryonyx could not exist or both it and Spinosaurus exist together on Isla Sorna. For now, its assumed that both species co-exist on Isla Sorna.
