
To play pop in the third-world, you must either be a scantily clad strumpet or a bad actor... or even sometimes both. Here, Bacharach would probably be stuck scoring B-movies or writing commercial jingles, Lennon would still be playing five sets a night in some gin joint, and Morrisey wouldn't last two noets. How ironic for a country full of videoke machines and serenades, of kundimans and melodrama.
With this situation, it's funny that these four lads from a town in Bulacan with little more than maptops and guitars have become pop stars.
