The "Herrera's reptile" was discovered in 1958 in San Juan, Argentina by Don Victorino Herrera and described by Osvaldo A. Reig in 1963.
Herrerasaurus lived during the Late Triassic about 228 to 216 million years ago. It was 4 meters (13.1ft) in length, 2 meters (6.6ft) in height at the hips and 660 pounds (300kg) in weight.
Herrerasaurus can be found on Isla Nublar, though never witnessed on the tour. It could be seen listed on the JP Brochure Map found in the Ford Explorer tour vehicles. Herrerasaurus may exist on Isla Sorna since InGen originally cloned them there, though there is no evidence as of yet to prove that it does.
