"Double-Crested Lizard" discovered in 1940 in Monument Valley in Arizona by Jesse Williams a Navajo Native American, described & named in 1970 by Samuel P. Welles. Dilophosaurus lived during the Early Jurassic Period about 200 to 180 million years ago. It was 6.8 meters (22 feet) in length, over 2 meters (7 feet) in height, & 1.100 pounds in weight. Dilophosaurus can be found on both Isla Nublar & Sorna, though never witnessed on the tour because of a no show, a Dilophosaurus did attack & kill Dennis Nedry while he was trying to make it to the East Dock with the 15 species of embryos, when his Jeep Wrangler slid off the road.

It has never been witnessed on Sorna, though could be seen on the Mobile Lab Trailers Computers as being on the island by one of the expedition teams to Sorna in 1997. The frill & poisonous spit that the Dilophosaurus had were most likely the result of DNA splicing done by InGen since there is no such evidence to suggest it had these characteristics in real life. The Dilophosaurus seen in JP is widely believed to be the juvenile form of the animal.
