Nobody in the Empire State Building Rank: One Antagonist: Jane Doe NPC Accompaniment: Yes Souls available: Mission: SUCCESS/FAILURE Helping pairs on their missions, it was just the usual today. The tall and thin Death Scythe lounged by the Empire State Building, back hunched over and hands buried in the pockets of his jeans. A youthful face and dressed in stylish, casual wear, it was easy for the new kids to mistake this man as a fellow student rather than school staff. Not like he minded that. Arashi Kurotaki was perfectly fine with it. He was the laidback and easygoing one of the Shibusen staff crew. Unlike serious Michael and ice-cold Alexis, he was more care free. A ray of easygoingness in a sea of seriousness, perhaps?
Although he couldn’t help it when he said that playing babysitter to a couple of kids on a mission was tedious and dull. Sometimes he would tag along to a couple who did it just fine, other times he was paired with those who messed up the mission entirely. It was a rollercoaster full of twists, turns, and a lot of loops.
Regardless of what would happen on this mission, it should at least prove to be interesting. He cracked open a dark blue eye, his right eye. From what the paper said, the pair this time was the (in?)famous duo, Z and Lucien. Oh yes, that daredevil and the administrator’s son. What a combination.

Z poked Lucien in the ribs lightly, once, as they both made their way rather slowly towards the Empire State Building. "Ah, we're here. Stop daydreaming. I swear, sometimes you're like a girl."
Neither of them were particularly excited about the mission, seeing as it would most likely be a piece of cake compared to the things they'd been up to lately. It would be even more fun, if only Z wouldn't be so closemouthed about this Arashi Kurotaki.
Lucien hadn't met the man (or woman?) before as far as he could tell, despite his frequent visits to SHIBUSEN, but when he'd asked Z, he'd gotten nothing but a cyrptic "You'll see, Lucien. It'll be more exciting this way."
As if this mission could possibly be more exciting than it already was?
Z's words roused Lucien out of his reverie, and the younger boy scowled at his partner before looking around for their accompaniment. Where was he?
His sharp green eyes fell on a ... person - Lucien couldn't quite figure out the gender - that looked almost young enough to be a student. This was Arashi? He'd seen the person before at a distance, and noted their easygoing manner, but had never been intrigued enough to attempt to get to know him/her.
Turning to his partner, Lucien found Z already making his way over. Following suit, he caught up just in time to hear Z say, "Hi, Arashi. So where's this Jane Doe we're supposed to cut into bloody ribbons?"

He wasn’t really paying attention to his surroundings, which was quite a blunder for the Death Scythe. Arashi couldn’t help himself. He simply liked his music, a little too much, perhaps. After all, why bother to haul around one’s violin while on a mission?
Ah, well. Moving on. Headphones on and covering his ears, it was a given that the Asian male wouldn’t have been able to detect the footsteps of the two he had been waiting for. His only visible eye now closed once more, it seemed more like the Death Scythe was asleep rather than just calmly listening to some music. At least by the way he occasionally bopped his head those that passed by could tell that Arashi was alive and not somehow dead.
A voice interrupted his daze and his eyes snapped open, a lazy grin making his way to his lips. “Oh? That’s bit of a bloody thought, don’t you think?” he inquired, making slow, fluid gestures in the air. His voice was ambiguous, high for a male and deep for a female. “At least you’re eager. She seems to be making her way up the elevator to drop off another body. Better get going now, huh?”
Pulling down his headphones so that he could fully pay attention to his surroundings, he began to head towards the building entrance. “Hurry along fast or ya gonna miss her!”
[[ Ambiguity ftw. <3 xD ]]

Lucien glanced over once, towards Z, and that was all the communication they needed. With a faint whispering sound, the WEAPON transformed into his alternate form, the razorwire moving quickly through the air to wrap around Lucien's right wrist. While the blades pricked a little at Lucien's wrist, oddly enough, they did not cut skin. The rest of the coil floated upwards, somewhat like a balloon string, in order to keep the deadly blades out of Arashi's way as the pair followed after their Mission leader.
:: Ah... our very first legitimate soul. I can almost taste it already. :: Z's voice resonated in Lucien's head as he carefully stepped out of the elevator onto the floor that this Jane Doe was supposedly in.
Silent as a shadow, Lucien moved forward quietly until his eyes finally landed on the slender figure of a woman near the window of the deserted floor.
"Is this it?"
The words were mouthed silently towards Arashi, and the two waited for their leader's response. While neither of them felt particularly queasy about taking a life, they both knew there would be hell to pay if Alexis ever found out that they'd acted without permission.

The ride up to the top floor was silent, but Arashi didn’t mind. He rocked back and forth as his head moved left and right to the tune of the elevator music. Oh yes, the dreaded elevator music. Doors silently slid open and the trio stepped out onto the deserted floor. The shadow of a woman’s figure seen in the gift shop, he caught the mouthed words.
He wanted to chuckle. “Who else would it be?” he mouthed back, “Now go do your business. I’ll wait outside.” With a careless wave, he turned away on the balls of his feet and softly hummed to himself, donning his headphones once more. The two seemed like a responsible pair, he didn’t see why he had to watch their every move. If they needed help, Arashi was sure that he would be able to hear it regardless of the music filtering into his ears.
Within the shop there was the sound of rustling and then the woman stood up, making her way over to the exit. She opened the door and as soon as she took a step outside, she froze. Bloodied gloves released their hold on the door and immediately pulled out a pair of guns. “Who are you?”

:: Hah, trust our mission leader to turn his back the second things get interesting. Well, you ready, Lucien? ::
"You know I am, Z. At least without him watching, we can do whatever we want."
Thoughts aligned, the pair stepped out of the shadows so that they could face the woman directly. With a sly grin, Lucien shrugged. "Nobody, really. I guess you could say... we just stopped by."
As he spoke, Lucien was slowly walking towards their target - the pair of guns, while they were a potential danger, only served to heighten the TECHNICIAN's senses as adrenaline pumped through his veins. Through his connection with Z, he could feel that his partner was also experiencing the same heady rush. Were they close enough yet?
Casually, almost lazily, Lucien raised his arm, flicking his wrist. The movement directed his WEAPON partner, causing the unattached end of razorwire to fly up sharply before moving, almost too quickly for the eye to follow. Between one blink of the eye and the next, Z was now wrapped around their target's wrists, while still connected to his own.
The sly grin grew into a full, teasing smile as Lucien continued his approach, watching as the sharp blades of his WEAPON began to work their way up the now-immobilized woman's arms. Wherever they touched, they cut - and the woman was now bleeding profusely.
Stopping right in front of their target, Lucien leaned close enough to almost lick the woman's ear. His breath stirred their target's hair softly, as he whispered one last, mocking comment. "Oh, look at all that blood. What a terrifyingly beautiful sight - but then, you would know all about that too, wouldn't you? Considering all the kills you've done."
With that, Lucien raised his right wrist - the wrist that Z was still wrapped around - and swiped it across the woman's throat.

The wires wrapped around her wrists, painfully cutting into her skin. She shrieked and immediately dropped her weapons, the guns helplessly cluttering to the ground. Dark brown eyes narrowed and glanced at her fallen weapons before glaring at the young pair, burning with hatred. “Why you----“
Her muscles tensed as he approached her. She seethed, hearing his words. “That’s none of---“ She never got to finish her words, because the wire cut deep into her throat and she fell to the floor, leaving a pool of blood.
“Oh? Finished?” Arashi turned towards the pair, cocking a curious eyebrow at them. “At least you had no qualms about killing another person. You have no idea how many times that happens,” he remarked in a bored tone. “Hurry and claim the soul, I’d like to return home.”

Lucien took a quick step back to avoid the blood spraying everywhere as the body crumpled to the floor. He held out his arm, and Z flashed back to human form, grabbing the soul as he did so. "That was such a piece of cake. If all the missions are going to be like this, then maybe we should figure out a way to handicap ourselves or something." Z's annoyance could be clearly heard in his tone of voice - and while Lucien remained silent, still reveling in the adrenaline rush, a slight gleam to his green eyes voiced his agreement for him.
The mission leader's words reminded them both of his presence - for a moment, it had seemed as if there had only been them, and the now-dead target. Lucien was the only one who caught the slight snicker though, before Z, soul still held in his hand, turned to face the staff member. Apparently, his partner was still running high on the thrill of the kill, and did not enjoy being told to hurry.
Slowly, deliberately, Z licked the plump red soul from bottom to top, as if trying to savor every last possible moment with it before he consumed it. Quite obviously, the WEAPON was doing it in the hopes of annoying Arashi, but Lucien, too, wanted to head home.
"C'mon, Z. It's not like you haven't absorbed a soul before. Let's get going."
Ignoring the glare that was his only response, Lucien began to head towards the elevator once again. Behind him, Z, his game now ruined, shrugged and put the soul in his mouth, swallowing it whole.
