I know people in the fantasy world have magic but what about abilities? I mean things that some people are jsut born with? Like reading minds and other things? Just an idea.

Um, well Seering is something somepeople are born with, and some are born more magically gifted than others. Originally I thought about allowing the reading of minds, but I thought it could be too powerful, that is why i was very hesitant to use it in the scifi rp.

Oh ok np I just had the idea hit me. Thast jsut an example there is things like reading emotions and auras as well. But yes I see your point on the too powerful thing.

Well trying to hide stuff for one thing. A lot of bad guys base their plans on deception, to read minds would make deception very difficult. Sure, you could write in exceptions to mind reading, and ways to protect yourself, but then that kinda defeats the purpose of having telepathy in the first place.
I forgot to ask though, what kinds of abilities did you have in mind?

There are lots of abilities things like off of X men. Nothing magorly strong like wolverine but just thinks like wlakign through walls. Stuff that people would hide from other ebcause its an advantage that they wouldn't want to share. Invisibility would be cool or things like that.

Well mind reading can be devastating in an assassin or martial artist. Being able to know someones every move before they can act or build a weapon by stealing ideas from many minds can be super powerful.
Picture a medieval Assassin that steals the idea of gunpowder from one mind and the idea of rifling from another years before those minds even decide to share the ideas with the world. That assassin would have a highly accurate rifle centuries before anyone else.
