in soft ruffled cotton
and sandals going click-click
we sucked the fruits of summer
and lighters going flick-flick
we got a little dumber
in cement paved jungles
and blackened hills
we inhaled smoke and asphalt heat
he started popping pills
we greeted defeat
'cause we were too busy
to fight - we were all so dizzy.
in twelve weeks
and two days
we learned all the ways
to move autopilot, to function unmanned
we would discuss the mundane
we went a little insane.
we lost something.
we regret nothing.
