Allo allo~! Yep, yet another gun concept. This time though, it's a Cyberpunk gun! ...vague, right? Well that's because, quite simply, I currently am not sure how futuristic I can/wanna go with the weapon. Really, we can go from homfg, these will never exist irl to the oh hey, these could eventually, maybe someday, exist! Or rather they do, they're just spiffed up and the character's clothing and such reflects the Cyberpunk theme.

I might just design my own gun if allowed, or just come up with the character design and some vague points for the gun and let the artist have their way with it. I really want some feedback on this, if someone doesn't mind xwx;;; <3

Currently, the avi to represent Lane is over-cluttered and horrible, and will remain as such until I can kick my a** into drawing her out to better show the concept I was getting with the avi... then getting her avi edited like the one for Kae >>;; <3

"Huh? You wanna know about Kae?" The blonde man paused, scratching the back of his head as he reclined slightly in his seat. The police station around them was bustling as always, and the pile of unfinished reports on his desk wasn't getting itself done while he shot the breeze with the stranger sporting a SIN badge.

"Look, I'll be blunt, you've got no reason poking around sensitive subjects like this. If she wanted you to know who she was, she'd find you herself and met ya. And don't you flash that badge in my face, you're lower rank than I am, buddy," he snarled. To his defense, the cocky newcomer did just reach for the badge that got him this conversation in the first place.

The detective sighed, shaking his head as he turned back to his desk. "She's a short kid, looks a hell of a lot younger than she really is, with tan skin like you'd expect from someone comin' from the Middle East or something. I know she comes from France, though good luck getting any other family history out of her.

She's got tattoos everywhere, all these tribal designs. Across her back is 'omnes relinquite spes, o vos intrantes,' Latin for Dante's Inferno's quote 'All hope abandon, ye who enter here,' or something like that. She's a weird one."

Again the man paused, seeming to debate what other details to divulge about the girl in question. His blue gaze shifted to the side, eying warily the open pad of paper in the other's hand, the pencil in the other whipping away to record as many tidbits as possible.

"Is that all-"

"You still want more? Fine. She's got insane blue eyes - I mean insane. You think they're glowing half the time with how bright they are. Her hair's black, long as heck, except for her bangs. They're blood red. Natural, too. She was born with some... mozaic thing going on there. Look it up, it's real weird s**t.

And that's all there is to say. You'll recognize her on sight when she's around. She's pretty hard to miss, no matter what kind of crowd you hang with."

Reina blinked up at the low ranking member from her desk. The secretary was startled, to say the least, that someone would be inquiring so much about one of the higher ups. Her painted lips twitched to the side in thought, doe eyes narrowed slightly. "Well... I guess if Ven talked to you, then it's okay." A long acrylic nail tapped against her lips as she spoke, unease written clear as day across her figure. Something was off with this, but if one of the subject's closest friends was willing to share...

"Kailey's fashion sense? Oh, she's a total rave girl. I mean it. Always going between goth and rave, you almost never see her in normal day clothes, y'know? I think I've only seen her dress up formally maybe twice, and I've known her for like ever." She laughed at a sudden thought, giggling like the school girl she was.

"Mostly see her in rave stuff though. Black skort that zips up the front and back separately so you can have either a tight mini or lose shorts - mostly see her going front like half-zipped. Guess she likes the weird look. And her top! Oh man, talk about total summer wear. Teal mini top with a leather zip-up thing over that. Again, half-zipped, and the thing's tight enough on her she doesn't need to wear the shoulder straps for it, just lets them hang. Purple and black striped socks, heavy combat boots, huge belt with lots of pouches on it - no clue what's in them, purple arm warmer, and bunches of bright bracelets and belts. Oh, and don't forget all the rings and earrings she's got!"

Reina paused, tapping her lips again. "Is that it... oh! She's also got this necklace." She pointed to her neck as she spoke, expression both comical yet confused. "This blue stone shaped like a heart - it's got a weird stripe of purple and two mini gold stripes on either side of that through it. She always wears this, no questions asked." Reina shrugged now, arms falling to rest on the desk before her. "And that's about it. Just look for the only girl around here not dressing to code."

Report by Aron Dysion

....Subject is... unique.

....Her moods are all artificial, to put it simply. Consider them masks, and depending on the situation or the people around her she'll switch them on and off however she pleases. She seems to prefer "masks" that best increase the chances of unnerving or startling people though. She is a "judgmental" type, a "seeker" if you will. She longs to know everything about someone, but not interests and the like - she wants to know the core of the person.

....She wants to know what makes them break. Show their "true selves." Be it a theory or a proven fact for her, people hide their true personalities or "selves," due to social requirements. She does whatever stunts - be they physical, verbal, mental, etc. - it takes to break this "fake" persona and show what makes the person tick.

....From events witnessed, if the person's kind persona cracks and shatters under pressure, showing a much more cowardice, or violent [ a "weaker" side ] she loses interest in the person, if not showing a great deal less respect for them. Should the reverse happen though, and the person's kindness and strength maintain during a time of crisis, she comes to respect them and seems to form a silent vow of loyalty to them as a friend and aid from then on.

....For the sake of this report, I will put in two main "masks" I have seen her utilize the most in social situations.

........G R E M L I N
....The subject is very mischievous by "normal" nature, a dare devil with a very childish streak that can turn violent at very little prompting. To say she has a "hairline trigger" for a temper would be an understatement.

....She is very acrobatic, and seems to love doing random stunts for either the hell of it or to prompt various responses from others around her. The same could be said for her instigating fights whenever she can. Yet laughter and giggles and smiles is another common trait of this, again keeping with the "childish" mannerisms she seems to like to keep with this persona. Smirks and challenges are just as interchangeable, though a blunt fact of a seemingly inability to remain still is constant.

She speaks bluntly about things, though often with an almost naive charm. To those she considers friends though, she is very physically clinging, hanging off them like a child would. Those she dislikes she openly shows her hatred for, becoming violent and verbally abusive without a moment's notice. Very quickly she'll revert back to a smiling, happy, friendly girl though should a friend divert her attention towards them instead.

........I C E..Q U E E N
....Of all the masks, this seems to be most likely to be her true self. Usually she only comes to this after seeing another true self, or when placed into a situation that could be considered life-or-death - or, simply, she feels she is done playing around and becomes serious at last with a situation or individual.

....Her personality becomes very blunt, her whole demeanor very inhuman. One can call this "elegant," "ageless," though it is clear she separates herself from humans in this state. Why is not known, but further research shall be conducted.

....She speaks very eloquently, but a distance is very clear despite any familiarity that might exist between her and the individual she is speaking with. Very little warmth can be found from her then, though she does smile, it is a very empty gesture. "Stony," "icy," are also good ways to describe her then, along with very little patience for questions and demands. This again might be related to how she seems to view herself separate from humans, but this is only a theory at this time.

....More research shall be done of this state, along with other masks she uses.

Quote:
Born in Domremy, France, she found herself the daughter of two loving parents and the younger twin of an almost identical brother. Kaelina and Keioshi were nearly inseparable, save one night, at six years old, when Kae and her parents were walking home from a festival - Kei had stayed behind with their grandparents to enjoy more of the festivities. It was during this night their parents were murdered, though by why or whom was lost within her chaotic memories of the night. All she remembers is fire, yet a distinct chill despite the flames, and more blood than she believed could ever come from a person - never mind two.

From then on the twins were shipped from relative to relative, her trauma induced insanity something only her brother seemed capable of dealing with. She began to detach herself from others around this time, believe no one was able to handle her because they couldn't understand. And if they couldn't understand, they weren't worth her time.

Her judgmental nature however didn't develop until she was twelve, six years since their parents' death, when she began to show an interest in starting to spend more time on her own instead of with her brother, Kei flipped out. He had formed a strong sister complex, clinging to her not only due to her previously fragile state, but because of his own fear at how close he'd came to losing said sister. He held no remorse for their parents, only that he could have lost his twin that night. At the time, Kailey wasn't aware of how warped his mind was because of this, only instead thinking her older brother was just being overly protective. But, because she loved him, she accepted and stayed close. Their aunt, however, disapproved and tried splitting them up more.

Bad idea.

Kailey began acting out, attacking her aunt one moment then giggling and acting like it was a game the next. She noticed weird reactions from the woman - she'd get mad... but not punish her? Because Kailey was acting like it was a game? She wanted to investigate this, and began acting out even more. Eventually, her tactic worked. Her aunt's restraint shattered, and she burst into a rage, breaking all the valuables in the house, screaming, "It's just a game is it? It's all just a game? Then keep playing your game, girl! Play the damn game! Keep playing, because one day you're going to lose!"

This was a concept that struck a cord in the girl - life. Was. A. Game.

People were a game, especially. One that she loved to play with whenever she could, all for her own amusement. One that could keep her close to her brother, but still entertained and something all her own. She loved it.

Years passed, events passed, and the twins were separated. Even now she refuses to say why, or how, or exactly when it happened, but just one day she showed up at Shibusen after visiting another aunt in New York City for a few years, asking to enroll as a student. Through SIN she first encountered "Cypher," a skilled hacker she'd heard rumors was also a girl with Weapon's blood. Intrigued, she added Lane into her game, soon becoming enthralled by the other's skills and determination. Someone so stubborn must be a suitable partner for someone like her, no?

When Lane got to the core of the fake SIN system Kailey had created, she left a note to send the other girl to Shibusen as well, where the two later met and eventually became partners. Even Kailey isn't sure how long her game with Lane will last, but as of yet... she's yet to be disappointed.

Concept sketch

The following's going to be WAY simple compared to Kae's because, to put it simply, her appearance is kind of up to the artist. I mean, I've got the avi, and a sketch for how she'd look, but the actual tattoos is up in the air, so it's just kind of "LOL HAVE FUN" with that x'D

  • White hair, reaches her hips. The right (our left) side of her bangs are layered, with seven main spikes or strips being each color of the rainbow. Over the first strip above her eye is a silver crescent moon hair pin.
  • Her skin is pale, with her getting very little sun exposure in her life. Across her flesh is pink, blue, and green markings, all looking like one would expect a computer chip to look. These markings can also be seen across her gun form. - Though I've given a random design on the sketch, the artist has free reign on how the markings will look for both her human and gun form.
  • Her eyes are two-toned - the iris being a pleasant blue, while the pupil is a bright pink. I'm assuming this would be because of a contact, unless it's alright if I said it was part of her weapon's blood that makes her like this x'D

  • White tube/spaghetti strap top, plain and simple. Exposes most of her middle.
  • Black mini skirt, plain - along the bottom is lace or fishnet.
  • Black fingerless gloves, the right having a computer screen on it. It's touch activated, along with able to follow voice commands. She's made her home computer travel friendly via those gloves. - Up to the colorist if this at all reflects on her gun form or not.
  • She wears three belts - two black belts cross with a crescent moon belt-buckle connecting them, and a single red belt seen beneath them.
  • Black and purple striped stockings that go up to her knees - ribbons are optional - with white and black boots.
  • To finish it off, she's got a dark purple mini-jacket, across the back is the winged heart symbol next to her in the sketch so don't worry about that - the design can be used in other places though, and on the gun version if artist wants.
  • Finally, she wears glasses like that of Spider Jerusalem, only her lenses are purple for the circle, and yellow for the rectangle. The shapes used can also be changed if artist wants. These glasses are supposed to reflect two different scope lenses in her gun form - one for zooming in on a far away target, the other for reading stats on said target - - - height, weight, general stuff like that if allowed. Idea is Lane as a gun would still have access to her huge a** computer to get info on targets, but if used against another Rper it would be the other person's call how much info she would have access to.

Lane's a pretty happy girl, all around bouncy and "preppy" - minus of course, her firm belief technology is a thousand times better than humans and almost all humans are totally annoying and only worth her time when she gains something from them.

That's not to say she can't play nice with others. Bring up a conversation having to do with tattoos, technology, guns, shopping, and she'd be more than happy to forget for the time being she's speaking with an inferior being.

Her best friend is her super computer, Bethke. His AI makes conversation easy, to the point one must question if she's really talking to another person hidden behind the machine. She does have contacts she also communes with a great deal, but again it's mainly about new computer upgrades and where to get the best parts for cheap.

Quote:
Lane claims she's an orphan, that she never knew her family and has only known the streets and then the first few contacts who were her first introduction into the wonders of computers and hacking.

Of course, she'd be lying through her teeth, but whatever makes for a better story, right?

Zardoz is a named shared by a Weapon and Technician team that resided in Las Vegas, the two of which later married and had Lane and her younger brother, Reks. While Lane fell in perfect tune with her Weapon blood, her brother took the Technician route instead. Which was all fine and dandy, until he began to demand they become partners. Lane instantly refused, finding the concept rather stupid, but also having a rather negative view of Technicians due to her mother always bossing her father around due to the fact he was "hers." It didn't seem to matter how tired he got, her mother kept demanding more and more and Lane feared such a submissive role in life.

Unfortunately, her brother couldn't comprehend this, seeing no problem in a Technician asking so much from their Weapon, and the two began to quarrel constantly. Her father stepped in when the fighting started to get physical, trying his best to convince his daughter not all partnerships were like the one he and his wife had - it was a lifestyle preference that worked well with their partnership roles, not a trait of the partnership.

But Lane began to grow introverted due to her family's views, instead finding comfort in the internet and the online friends she made on there. She found herself unable to connect with most kids her age offline, not understanding why others following their Weapon's blood would be so willing to fall into a potentially submissive role for the rest of their lives. Online, she was able to escape this "fact" of life, where it didn't matter who or what she was.

One friend in particular became a great influence on her, an individual known only as "Gateway." Gateway introduced her little by little to the world of hacking, though it was first nothing more than a game and sets of random puzzles set to challenge her and help relief her stress caused by the outside world. As Gateway taught her the skills of hacking, she began to set off on her own into the vast world it unlocked for her - boundless information at her fingertips, all the puzzles and challenges she could ever want right there on the screen of her computer.

It was around this time she began constructing the original AI of Bethke off schematics she'd stolen from a random hacking she and Gateway had conducted together. Gateway also supplied her with other plans and parts to reconstruct her computer into one much more secure and practical for her new illegal lifestyle. New contacts began to form between her and other "friends" introduced to her by Gateway, and eventually she gained her own name among the hacking community - Cypher. It was by this name she began accepting clients who paid for her hacking skills, stealing valuable information or sabotaging entire systems at their request.

During this time, she came across a rogue system, one known only by the name "SIN" - Gateway informed her it was a company of unknown origins, and no one knew what exactly the company even did. Intent on finding out the answer to this little mystery, Lane set to work on trying to break through the security. Only to, instead, get herself hacked into!

"Poor sap, poor shot - back out now or lose all you've got."

It was a challenge left by someone named "Jane," and instantly Lane's pride wouldn't let her give up breaking into SIN now. Weeks, months - a year and half had gone by with her and Jane trading shots, both breaking more and more past the other's systems, re-building, then attacking again. At last though, it seemed Lane was the victor - she'd made it through to the system's heart! But instead of all the company's information she'd been seeking, there was but one message -

"Shibusen."

Eventually, Lane went to Shibusen - much to her father's joy - alone - this time to her brother's rage -, intent on finding who this Jane was and what connection they had to the school. It wasn't long before she got her answer - Jane was Kailey Koreco, a would-be Technician who's constantly shifting personalities made it seemingly impossible for her to share a wavelength with. Instantly the shorter girl clung to Lane, grinning and laughing about how she'd finally found a proper partner.

Lane, of course, was put off instantly, but when it became clear Kailey didn't expect Lane to bow down to her or change any of her equally stubborn ways, she grudgingly accepted her as her Technician and finally fell into her Weapon role.

...living arrangements. . . Both reside within a two-story apartment building not far from the school. Koreco owns the top story and attic, Zardoz the first story and the basement. Both apartments are complete with one bedroom, one bathroom, living room, and a kitchen-dinning room mix. Storage space comes as the attic or basement respectfully, however both have oddly enough made the spare rooms into their main living quarters.

Koreco has since reformatted the attic space into a mixture of computer center, sleeping space, and personal training area. A firing range has been set up on the roof, which she has access to via ladder out of one of the attic windows. The room itself has a theme of both Medieval Europe and a rave. Bright, flashy lights; techno colored objects; various technology, advanced or non; high tech computer and sound system, have been thrown about an originally red and gold, stone and wood composed room. It is a chaotic scene, yet one with a strange sense of organization attributed only to the equally bizarre girl who lives within the middle of the mess.

Zardoz, in comparison, turned the basement into a center completely devoted to an extensive computer system she developed with the help of various unknown contacts to aid her in her hacking career. A small section of the room is occupied by a very simple bed, more like a nest of various blankets and pillows and broken computer or gun parts as she also repairs both for contacts and her upstairs neighbor. Very little of the room can be seen, however, as the only lights she lives by down there come from the large computer, and one lamp beside her "bed" for reading or tinkering. The floor is strewn with her clothing and various accessories, air heavy with techno music and the heat of the technology. Her bathroom looks like a rainbow exploded along with dark matter in her sink and shower due to dying her hair so much.

The girls fight. A lot. Both have very strong personalities, and neither like to compromise unless they can gain individually from such a situation. However, upon realizing they can beat a common enemy by joining forces, the two suddenly slip into the most friendly, sisterly, almost questionably so, personas that can be witnessed from either. They turn their anger and hatred of the situation on their opponent, often to very promising results for the girls.

Lane's attitude towards violence is a pointless thing unless she's watching others go at it - then it's the most hilarious thing in the world! If she can avoid conflict, she will, but with her partner being a seeming catalyst for fights, it's kind of an impossible feat at this point. Kailey almost seems to live on battles, even though she has no real strength to speak of. She relies on distance and acrobatics to keep her edge, though if forced into close combat her flexible form can make for relatively easy dodging and heavy boots a nice tool to help up her chances at breaking away for ranged attacks again.

Outside the battle field though, the two can be considered friends even despite their constant bickering. They share similar interests - computers, gaming, guns, clothes, raves and weird accessories - but with Lane's "technology is so superior to humans and their irrational minds" and Kailey's "I'll do whatever it takes to make you break and show the real you" the two don't always see eye-to-eye on a lot of things in life. As time progresses though, the two will come to terms and form a sisterly, almost twin-like connection, if only to ensure their continued success in life.

...When Kae and Lane's wavelengths match up, not only is Kailey's aim that much more accurate even without the use of the scopes from far away, Lane's ability to connect with Bethke allows her to more accurately pinpoint "weak points" in their opponent's armor or tactics - think V.A.T.S from Fallout 3, only less bloody and lethal x'D;;
......As they get stronger together, the strength of this "V.A.T.S" would also increase, though still not to the degree of Fallout 3 unless allowed by staff <3

...As time goes on, Lane's shots will gain the ability to become empowered by the markings on her gun form. The markings would glow brighter than usual, crescent moon markings appearing on the trigger and on the muzzle of the gun. When these moon markings glow brightly as well, Kailey would be able to shoot a barrage of [ lasers/bullets ] in a circle in front of her, then in an arc through the center to form a crescent shape. A final, much more powerful, shot would be fired through the center of this circle, and both Technician and Weapon would be drained of energy after this.
