What's the weirdest thing you've EVER heard of that's Japanese?
If you can, provide a link so we can all see it, please.

Okay, I don't have a link to this, so you'll just have to take my word for it, but....
We took a field trip to the シカ公園と大仏 (Shika Kouen to Dai Butsu, deer park and Monumental Buddha), which was amazing. They had sacred deer there, and these deer would bow for food: put a hoof out and lower their heads. Unless, of course, you were a scared 10-year-old boy. Then they would mob you, 20 at a time.
Anywho, that's not the wacky part.
There were a lot of vender stands there, and one of them sold T-shirts. One of the T-shirts said "No F---ing!" (except it wasn't bleeped out; don't want to go against the ToS), complete with 2 stick figures with a big red circle with a line through it over them. And it wasn't Missionary style, either. rofl I SO should have bought one! I kick myself every time I think of it! Argh! crying
When my hubby and I went back to that same park in 2007 (the original field trip I took was in 2002), they weren't selling those shirts anymore. I was so bummed out. crying

I've heard of the park and seen pictures, but never have I seen a shirt like that. Now I REALLY wanna go to Japan. Just to see (buy?) stuff like that.

They develop a cult-like following and it's just nuts.

was it this shirt?? =3 I know that vending machines have already been said... but there's one particular thing that actually really scares me XD The Parking Garage "Machine"The entire building is a parking machine. Just drive your car into the bay. Each bay rotates through the building to maximize usage of space. Your parking ticket will retrieve your car back to the bottom bay. You back out your car onto the rotating circle. It will turn your car so you can drive out straight! more sooper crazy vending machines HereOH!! and the panties in the vending machine... they aren't myths XD

OMG!! Yes, it WAS that shirt!! 3nodding heart Thanks for the link!! Wow. Actually, I think the parking garage thing sounds cool. I hate parking. But then, you're in Japan. Why do you need a car? Capsule hotels sound pretty claustrophobia-inducing. I actually like being in boxes, so I think I might like it. If you don't know, here's what it is: http://www.yesicanusechopsticks.com/capsule/ Though I think the lack of true privacy would bother me. I wonder if there are lockers for your luggage or something? And what about bathrooms? But I like the idea of sleeping in a box. Maybe I should buy a coffin? sweatdrop

Capsule hotels sound interesting.....
I kind of like confined spaces, so I don't think I'd mind it much at all..... I have to say, though, the vending machines look crazy. I thought it was cool when I saw one at my school that dispensed coffee into a cup.
I am so, SO uncultured...
