OK... I'm just gonna post what I did so far for my human vs. hell rp so you guys can give me some feedback or something... Basically I'd be calling it The Third Creation of God... It's what me and my friend called it originally and I loved the name... Here's what I got along the lines of story...The Third Creation of God Here's the Story (It takes place in the recent past, as you will see):
At the time of 06:06:06 on the morning of June 6, 2006, the Devil rose to the Earth from the depths of Hell. As he rose from Hell he destroyed the top of Mt. Kilauea, which began spewing out molten rocks and causing massive amounts of destruction. When he rose from the smoke filled mountain top he spoke these words, "It's been One Thousand long years since I last touched this cold earth." His words were heard world wide. He spoke again as his feet touched the highest peak of the volcano. "I am the King of Demons underground, and now I walk upon the land, this land that shall soon be mine as well."
As if on cue, Demons burst from the sides of the volcano, which began crumbling away as they appeared. "Go now my minions and monsters, take the Earth in my name. But remember to bide your time, we want to enjoy the fight." As the demons fled to take Hawaii, the Devil returned to hell. He walked down an almost infinite staircase that led deep into the earth, ending on the first layer of hell.
Two years have passed since that fateful day back in June. The demons have taken their time and have thus far claimed Hawaii, Canada, and South America, and now they have moved on to the USA. Fortunately strange things have been happening since the Devil rose from Hell. A small group of humans from all over the world have gained powers from the Demon King’s Infernal Aura. Some of them gave into the aura’s influences and slowly transformed into Demons. Others have learned to control the influences and use their newly gained powers to fight for their homeland.
And Now the Story shall commence…

I really, really like it.
I think all you really need to do is nail down a specific setting and a common theme that will bring the characters together.

Hmmm ... as for the specific setting... I believe it should start out in a place not many people do... Everyone always does either New York or Vegas... ... ... I don't wanna make it a small city start out... just ... not something overly used... Any ideas as to where it COULD start? and common theme? Stopping the demons from overrunning america and thus in the future... the rest of the world lol... good enough common theme lol? Well I guess some people could use a little more insentive then that eh? Let's see... OK... we could say The presidents/Rulers of all the remaining countries could be offering those Afflicted Humans(That's what we called the humans with the infernal aura) who actually work towards saving the world a various amount of stuff depending on what the person wants. Each one is seperately contacted for their reward discussion, but afterwards are all sent to the same base right on the warfront... or something... I like that idea... but still... where to start it...

I like the idea of vegas really. You could also say those that are "gifted" are naturally drawn to each other. So they all eventually make there way there to meet up or something. The more that are near each other the stronger that pull is to get all of them together.

Vegas? Come on! We're far too classy for Vegas, or at least I am. XP
If you want a place that is uncommon but also highly populated my suggestions would be Seattle, San Francisco, Annapolis, etc. I personally love Seattle. But I also love New York, which is overdone. Boston is probably pretty common too.
And that could be entirely irrelevant because those are just places I like to travel that fit with the theme.

OH I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! You came up with the only Idea I liked lol! TO BOSTON PEOPLE! ... I still think I prefer the rulers of each country offering these Afflicted humans something in return for their services... seems far more logical... politicians are cowards like that... offer up anything for their own safety!... also sorry everyone, but yes I only liked her idea as she was the only one to name a place that wasn't overdone lol...
