[Haha, I haven't had the opportunity to play Jareth himself very much, I thought this would be fun. Be my damsel, Emmeh.. As if I have to ask. ; D
Rules: Only Emmi and I may RP in this story. : ) That Is all.]
Alone, the young girl sat, nose buried in the novel she held in her delicate white hands, she seemed to be lost in her own world, unaware of anything else at all.
Silently, the owl watched, its tawny head tilted thoughtfully to the side. The young girl took no notice of this, but if she had, she would have thought it perhaps rather curious that a barn owl was roosting in the daylight, staring at her intently as she read her book.
In the distance, the church bell tolled out the hours in an orderly fashion, as it had for years, calling out to the town that it was indeed, six o'clock.
The owl shuddered as a thick cold drop of rain splashed his feathery head, he seemed to scowl and ruffle his feathers. It was time to go now, anyway, the young girl knew it too, for she had packed her bag and was running home with her bookbag over her head, as a sort of makeshift umbrella, shielding her from the misty summer downpour.
The majestic and silent barn owl watched her for a moment, with slight amusement shining in his black eyes, and then decided it too, was time for him to make the journey back home, he spread his wings and took off into the sky.
~Later~
Jareth arrived back at his castle, the great oak front doors swung wide to greet their King, as he walked inside, heading to the throne room, where a chorus of "welcome back, your majesty!" greeted his ears.
The room was a mess of course, food all over the floor, chickens clucking about, and of course the hoards of Goblins, running every which way. It was hard to walk, for fear of treading upon one, but Jareth didn't worry about that. He simply booted them out of his way as he made his way towards his throne.
With a sigh, he unbuttoned the clasp of his rainsoaked cloak and let it fall to the floor, kicking it away as he collapsed into his throne. His legs draped over one of the sides, tapping the side of his leg in boredom.
"GRIMRAT." his booming voice carried over the crowd of laughing goblins. They fell silent and still, except for one small gremlin like creature, who ran as fast as his short legs could carry him, up to the throne.
"You..you want something sire?" he squeaked out, trembling a little, Master was in one of his moods again. Grimrat was clearly being cautious as possible, to avoid being banished to the Bog of Eternal Stench. Like so many other disrespectful goblins had.
"Wine." Jareth demanded, pressing a gloved hand to his forehead and scowling, rubbing his temples in slow circles.
Grimrat disappeared and came back, quick as lightning, a tarnished silver goblet full of deep red wine held in his little arms. He carried it over. Trying not to spill, he held it up for him.
Jareth reached down and scooped up the goblet, bringing it to his lips and taking a deep drink. Allowing the alchohol to calm his nerves and soothe his headache.
After a second glass of wine, Jareth became much more tolerant and was now lazily sprawled out on the steps, a tray of food next to him, picking grapes off the bunch and popping them one by one into his mouth. His steely eyes glancing around the room.
"Grimrat," he began thoughtfully, "what say you of, perhaps, stirring things up a bit? We could use some change around here." he stated thoughtfully, once again bringing the goblet to his lips and taking a gulp.
"what do you mean m'lord?" the scrawny creature asked timidly, somewhat confused.
"Oh, I don't know. Perhaps we should bring another guest to my lovely kingdom. A human, perhaps?"
"like Sarah m'lord?"
Jareth's hand lashed out violently, sending Grimrat sprawling across the castle floor, he got up and tugged the little creature up by the front of his shirt. He growled at him, his hot breath blew across the goblin's face, mere inches away.
"That word is forbidden. Don't ever say it again."
Apologies spewed from Grimrat's mouth, and Jareth, scowling, let the creature fall to the floor. He sighed and picked up the goblet and took a small, thoughtful sip.
"I'll be back." with that, he let the goblet drop out of his hand without a care, a serving goblin rushed to catch it before it hit the floor as Jareth disappeared, a mischevious smile across his handsome face.

Name: Fara Age: 17 Height: 5' 1" Hair: Long, Chestnut Brown Eyes: Hazel Personality: Imaginative, Quiet, Intelligent Likes: Reading, Stargazing, Playing make believe, Being alone, Quiet, Nature, Animals Dislikes: Noise, Rudeness, Her job, Her 'new family' Family: Lives with her mother, Her mother's new husband and their 3 small children
Background: She does not live the carefree, fun life most kids her age do, and she finds this dreadfully unfair. She was forced to grow up too young when her mother announced that she would be getting divorced. When her mother then proceeded to remarry and start a new family, it left Fara completely devastated. Her mother requires her to hold a part-time job to help with the expenses of the raising a household with 3 small children. Fara often retreats into the dreamt up world her favorite book whenever she gets a chance, as it help her cope with real life.
She walked into house, soaking wet despite her efforts to stay dry. She tried to move as quietly and quickly as she could, hoping that she would not bring any attention to herself. She dripped onto the carpet, something she knew her mother would not appreciate. She heard the clicking of high heels on the tiles in the kitchen. The sound grew closer to the hallway where she stood dripping on the carpet, and she knew she was caught.
"Fara, where have you been? I'm sick and tired of your running around doin' God know what with your friends. You should be coming home on time so you can help me with the house and the kids." Her mother scolded her.
"Mom..." Fara sighed, frustrated and tired of going through this with her mother time and time again, "I just wanted to spend some time out in the park. I wasn't doing 'God knows what' I was READING. I am in the top of my class in school, not to mention I work a lot of hours at the supermarket. I spend long hours on my feet, and today was my day off, so exuse me if I don't feel like coming home to take care of your house and your kids!" Fara stamped her muddy shoe in the carpet, just to bring her point home.
Her mother put one of her hands to her chest, a shocked expression on her face. "How dare you disrespect me like that!" She shouted at her daughter, her voice shrill, "Working hard is a part of life, you should be grateful you have a job and you should--"
Fara was annoyed at her mother's ridiculous words, cut her mother off and shouted back at her: "But I give my entire paycheck to you so you can feed those disgusting kids your raising--"
Fara was cut off by a hard slap to her already flustered pink cheek. Fara raised her hand up to her injured cheek, unable to believe that her mother would treat her so cruelly. Tears welled up in her eyes, and ran to her room, closing the door with a 'slam!'
In her room, she sunk down to the floor with her back up against the door. She sighed, trying hard not to cry. 'It's like this all the time, I should be used to it by now.' she thought to her self, tears beginning to stream down her face. Her room was a lonely place, but it was the only place she could find some relief from the horrors of her home life. Her mother had remarried five years ago, and started a new family with the person she was now meant to call 'stepfather.' Her mother now had three new children, making Fara felt like the odd remainder of her mother's first failed marriage - cast out, unneeded and unloved.
Fara put her head in her hands and sobbed. She was so utterly unhappy with her life.

Outside the window, the owl fluffed his wings at the sight. He didn't like what he saw, not one little bit. A girl of such beauty and grace shouldn't be on the floor, sobbing like so. Disorder irritated him, both as a King, and as a person, this situation was no different. How it irritated him so.
If a bird could ever frown, this owl certainly was.
For a moment he considered being brash and acting on impulse, rushing to her side in his human form and taking her into his arms. No. He musn't. He wished for their first meeting to be one she shan't forget. Hopefully, she'd be as taken with him as he was with her. Inside he laughed, for the thought of any female not liking him was humorous.
He braced himself to enter her room, making certain her mother was gone, along with her family for their outing.
A strong, stormy breeze pushed open the window, blinding her with rain and wind that flew in on the air. A sound, almost like a windchime, burst forth, carried in on the breeze. A Puff of purple and silver glitter erupted from the sill.
There he stood. In all his dark magnificence, a splendid figure clothed in blue velvet, diamante adorning his shoulders. Ruffles of grey silk cascaded down his neck and from the ends of his sleeves. It was his most charming outfit. He had dusted it off, just for this occasion.
She looked a bit frightened, but of course that was to be expected. After all, wouldn't any young girl become a bit afraid at seeing a strange man appear in her bedroom?
A smile grazed his lips, he hoped it dazzled her.
"Hello, fair maiden. Do please, tell me why such a lovely young girl is crying? " he tilted his head to the side in an adorable fashion, and knelt on one knee next to her. With his slender fingers, he tilted her head gently up, staring into her beautiful eyes. Immedietly, he became even more excited. Being this close to her finally, was so very satisfying.
Jareth had to mentally restrain himself against acting on impulse once more. But oh, how tempting were her lips, how beautiful her face, though covered in tears.
From inside his jacket he withdrew a handkerchief, and gently dried her eyes for her.

She cried well into the night, unable to stop her tears. She heard the door slam as the rest of the family went out for some quality time together, Fara left behind and forgotten. The quiet that now covered the house was an element that both relieved her and added to her sadness all at once.
Her mother always assumed that when Fara wasn't home, she was out partying with her friends. Her mother never questioned why she never saw friends come to the house, or call for her. She never really questioned anything about Fara's life, or else she would know that Fara didn't have any friends at all. She sniffed and sighed, exhausted from getting as upset as she did. She hated crying so much, and lately she felt like it was all she did.
She was about to get up and move to her bed her window burst open, pouring rain into her bedroom. She held her hands up to her eyes to shield herself, and attempted to get up to shut the window.
But she quickly fell back down to the floor and pressed her back up against the door as her eyes focused on what had brought itself into her bedroom. Fara let a cry of shock and surprise escape her lips as a mysterious man stood over her.
He was all glitter and darkness, and she could not help but notice he was very handsome. He seemed a proud type of man, very sure of himself. But even despite his obvious overflow of confidence, he seemed to have kindness in his curiously pale blue eyes.
He asked her why she cried - and instead of being wary of his presence, or demanding why he has invaded her room - she answered him. "My life isn't fair at all. My family has been destoyed by my selfish mother... she has a new family and doesn't care for me like her other kids." She said quietly, beginning to cry once more.
He dried her tears in the most tender manner, his handkerchief gentley brushing up against her pink cheeks and her slightly reddened eyes. She was much more used to getting yelled at rather than being understood, and it was a feeling she would mind more of.
Even though the man's kind words and gentle touch made her feel so much better, she still could not understand why he was here, or why she felt she could trust him enough to open up as she did. It was very unlike her to share her feelings with, well, anyone. Instead she poured her aching heart out in her journal, writing stories of far-off places and poems of better futures.
"Who are you? And why would you care if I cry?" she asked meekly, hoping not to insult him.

Very gently, he continued to wipe her tear stained face.
"Who am I?"
A soft playful smile grazed his lips, and he took her hand, pulling her to her feet. "I am whoever you want me to be. I am Jareth, King of the Goblins, Granter of Wishes, Lord of Dreams." he said impressively, tucking his handkerchief back into his lapel.
He smiled coyly, bending down to her hand, which he held in his own, and kissed it briefly, bowing before her. He hoped in some small way to impress her.
"I have been watching you for quite some time my girl." he began, releasing her hand. "And it saddens me greatly, to see that each time I come to visit, that such a lovely lady is always so sorrowful." he nearly purred, giving her another charming smile, thumbing away another stray tear that trailed down her lovely pale cheek.
"You needn't be afraid, dear Lady. I would never harm such a gorgeous creature as yourself. In fact, I have come here, for a very special purpose. Would you like to know that purpose?" he asked her this, simply to tease her, to see her nod eagerly.
"I have come to take you away, my Lady. Far from here, beyond the moon and over the stars. To a place where no one shall ever look down upon you again. Ever. Would you like that?"
She nodded. He grinned.
"Then don't be afraid."
He reached slowly into his cloak, pulling out a crystal, seemingly, from nowhere. It gleamed in the dim light, mimicking the full moon that hung in the sky beyond her window.
She was watching it with some fascination, as it twirled atop his index finger, then came to rest in the palm of his leather clad hand. It disintegrated into a fine silver powder.
His eyes locked upon hers, as he blew the powder gently into her face, and watched as she fell asleep. Being the kingly gentleman he was, he caught her before she fell, and scooped her up into his arms, bridal style.
-Later-
"She isn't dead, is she?"
"Ohh, her hair's soft!"
"why's her skin so white?"
"SHOO!"
There was a thud, a squeak, and three goblins flew across the room, landing with a crash into some barrels.
"Stupid little things" Jareth muttered under his breath as he carried his lady fair past them, up the stairs, through passages. Until he reached a room he had prepared for her, gently lying her down on the silken sheets.
With a gentle hand, he moved the strand of hair that had fallen into her face.

After a deep sleep filled with many strange dreams she woke up, feeling disoriented and uneasy. She had the strangest dream involving a very handsome man coming to her room. She sat up and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. When she opened her eyes and looked down at her hands, there was traces of an odd silvery powder. She became alarmed at the presence of the powder on her hands and inspected her surroundings more closely. She jumped as she realized it was not her bed, nor was it iher room. She was in completely unfamiliar territory, and she was quite frigthened. She had no recollection of how she got there.
"Hello?" she said to the empty room, receiving no reply. She sighed, and unable to process this situation she threw her arms up in resignation.
She analyzed what the room contained. The room was big and spacious, much nicer then her room. To her right there was a dresser and a looking glass. On her left, there was a nightstand and a vanity containing many glittering jewels and more make-up than an imaginative girl would know what to do with. And on the far wall there was the most enormous collection of books she had ever seen. "Oh!" She said in amazement and ran over to the bookshelves to what they held.

"Now, I have some rules to lay down here. One, is- OH DO PAY ATTENTION." Jareth shouted, he was beginning to lose his patience with the dawdling, stupid goblins. But when he yelled, they immedietly fell silent. No one dared talk over Jareth when he got loud. That was a warning. If he had to get any louder, feet would fly. Any louder than that still, and they'd be banished to the swamp by the dozen. "Now that I have your humble attention," Jareth scoffed, rolling his unusual eyes toward the ceiling and back.
"Ah yes. Alright. Rule number one, this lady I have brought here, is to be treated with the utmost respect. You shall treat her as you treat me, no, better. Understood?" he snarled the last word menacingly, wishing to embed the rules upon the minds of his insolent little cronies. "Rule number two." he directed this rule towards his servant goblins, who stood at the doors, wearing grimy aprons and depressed looks. "You will obey her every wish. Whatever she wants, get it for her. I don't care of we don't have it, you'll get it." there was a soft chorus of weary Yes Sires.
Jareth finished with his little speech and straightened himself out, adjusting the sleeves and neck of his handsome blue jacket. He had to look handsome for his lady. "Now, if you excuse me. Oh, and clean up this damn room. It looks like neanderthals lived here. I will not have it. " with that final note, he walked on down the hall to the room the girl was in. He peered in with a smirk and a small chuckle, noticing she had found the books. "Enjoying yourself?" he asked her, and was pleased to see her jump. It made him chuckle.

She had rummaged through the shelves, picking up books at random, skimming through them a bit and then tossing them on the floor to look at the next one. She sat admist a pile of books, engrossed in one tale she found particularly interesting.
She jumped at the sound of the fey man's velvety smooth voice. Her cheeks flushed, she was quite embarassed to have made such a mess of the book collection, she just couldn't help herself.
"Oh! I'm really sorry!" She said jumping up and putting the book behind her back to hide the evidence. Her face turned red with guilt, knowing that she made a terrbile mess of all the lovely books.
He laughed and she felt her face growning even hotter with embrassment. He took a few steps towards her, holding out a hand. Her eyes grew wide, broght her hand with the book up to her face as a means of protection and took a careful step back.
"Please, please don't hurt me. I didn't mean to make a mess." she begged, though she did not truly believe he would hurt her, she was unsure of what to expect.

Jareth had watched the sight in silence with much amusement. This girl was so eager for the taste of literature. But as he began to walk towards her, she seemed so.. frightened. He reached his hand out very slowly, as if asking if he may see the book she was immersed in, and she recoiled as though he may strike her. This thought did not please Jareth.
The last thing he wanted, was to hurt this lovely young girl. "I'm not going to hurt you, my dear. These books are yours, you may do with them as you please. May I see?" he, gently and slowly as he could, took the book from her and scanned the page with his eyes, then smiled.
"A favorite of mine. I do hope you enjoy it dear Lady." a coy smile appeared on his face, trying to make her feel more comfortable.
"I hope you find your room to your liking?" and as she told him it was indeed, lovely, his smile widened to a grin.
"And there's no need to apologize. " with a snap of his fingers, the novels strewn over the floor tidied themselves up into a perfect stack on the floor, she seemed amazed by this simple magic he was weaving, and that was good. He wanted her to be interested in how it worked. Soon, he would teach her..
"Everything in this room belongs to you. You could rip apart the bedsheets and throw paint on the ceilings and it would be perfectly alright dear one." he said with a charming laugh and a tilt of his fluffy blonde head.
" Dinner will be served in a half hour. I was hoping ever so much, that you would join me dear lady? It would please me ever so much." he said with a soft bow, and a twinkle in his lovely eyes. She nodded again. He smiled.
"Everything you need, clotheswise, are in that wardrobe." he pointed across the room to a huge mahagony peice of furniture. "When it's time to eat, one of my servants will come and bring you down to the dining hall, where i'll be awaiting you. Until then, dear lady." he bowed and handed her back the novel, then backed out of the room, gently closing the door.

She lowered the book from her face as he assured he meant no harm. Deep down, she wanted to believe his words, though it was very unlike her to trust anyone so quickly. She knew she should be scared out of her wits right about now - in this strange room accompanied by an even stranger man - but in reality, she wasn't. He approached her slowly, asking her for the book she held. She dutifully handed him the book, watching him carefully as he thumbed through it. She smiled slightly as he told her the book she was reading was also a favorite of his. He asked about the room, to which she could not help but gush about how lovely it was: "Well, honestly, sir" she said politely, "I've never seen a room more lovely in all my life! It's like a something I've always dreamed about- a peaceful, quiet place to sit and read." Her answer seemed to please him as he grinned with such amusement on his handsome face. She couldn't help but feel her face begin to redden again. At the snap of his slender fingers, the books hopped to attention and tided themselves up! She jumped back in shock and wonderment at his trick, in awe of the magic he clearly possessed. He explained to her, quite charmingly put, that everything in this room was her. The idea of throwing paint about the room amused her greatly, she always wanted to redecorate her room but her mother would not allow it. She giggled a little at the thought of paint splatters all about the room, a chaos of colors swirling about, and how nice that would look! She shook head head a little to snap out of her daydreaming of splashing paint about as he requested her to attend dinner with him. She nodded of course, figuring that he has been all too kind to her, the least she could do is serve as some dining company?
When he had left her alone once again, she turned her attention to the wardrobe. She opened it to find an unimaginable amount of lovely gowns and dresses for her to wear. They all bore a striking resemblance to dresses she pictures the heroines from her favorite stories. She assumed that their resemblance was not coincidence. From the wardrobe, she withdrew a stunning green dress. Her eyes lit up at the sight of it and she eagerly put it on. It fit perfectly over the curves of her young body, hugging her hips and falling to the floor in a pool at her feet. The dress was a fine silk, which felt heavenly against her skin, and it was a deep emerald green that brought out the richness of her hazel eyes. She ran over to the vanity, with all the innocence of a girl her age should have to play with the make-up and jewelry set up for her use. She pinned up her long brown locks with a set of richly jeweled, golden butterfly hairpains. She then began to apply eyeshadows and rouge to her already lovely features. She then browsed through the collection of lipstick, choosing a pinkish color that she felt complimented the rest of her look, and began to apply it. She had some difficulty putting it on correctly though, as she could not bring herself to stop smiling! She had a huge grin on her face that she could not make disappear, as she was far too happy. Her mother would never let her wear make-up and she never had any reason to dress up like a princess from one of her favorite books! She looked in the mirror, quite satisfied with herself, unable to believe how elegant she looked. She walked back over to the bookshelf and sat in a nearby chair. It was very comfortable for reading, just the right amount of light coming in from the window next to it. She then looked at the neat stack of books and shook her head once again. His trick really did amaze her, she wondered how he could accomplish such a thing. She picked up the book she was reading earlier, and waited to be called upon.

Jareth had watched her in the crystal for some time, politely averting his eyes as she got dressed, and then returned his attention as she played with the makeup and lovely jewelry he had set out specially for her. He had noticed, her room at home never had such lovely things, and she always seemed to stare at pictures of lovely princess' with them with envy. So he decided to bestow upon her all the luxuries and pretty things she was truly entitled to. "Poor thing." He said to himself with a small sigh, draped across his throne. But her preparing reminded him that he too, should be getting ready for dining. So, with a smirk, he headed to his bedchambers to finished getting dressed. He got himself dressed in a very handsome outfit of rich, deep scarlet, so dark it was almost brown, like the colour of dried blood. A pure white cravat adorned his neck and about the end of his sleeves. Shining black boots at the end of his black leggings. He really did look splendid, almost dauntingly handsome. He looked impatiently at the clock, and was delighted to see dinner was in only a few minutes more, so he appeared in the dining hall, sitting at the far end, a seat across from him directly, pulled out slightly for his lady fair. his. Hm. She wasn't his, yet at least, but he could not stop thinking about her and wishing she were his, now. "Grimrat." he said in a low voice, and the little goblin appeared at his feet, and immedietly filled up the goblet near master full of crimson wine, as well the one near the lady's seat, as well as a goblet of mulled cider for her, in case she found she did not have a taste for the wine after all. Jareth was trying to be as thoughtful as possible for her, without appearing too weak in front of his little minions, if they caught sight of how silly he was getting over her, they surely wouldn't take him too seriously, which meant he would have to get forceful with them, and begin banishing them again. Which was the last thing he wanted. Less servants meant less service. And He couldn't have his castle running with a limited staff, now could he? He was sort of trapped between a rock and a hard place here. But of course, they would understand him being kind to the Lady, she was not of the same status as they. No, hers was held much higher here.

There a knock at her chamber door.
"Yes? Um... come in?" she said, still not used to the thought of this being 'her space.'
A small, timid little goblin came in, hands at his sides with his feet turned inwards. He was very tiny, even for a goblin, but despite his size, he had a very large head with large black pools for eyes. She was a bit shocked to see a small, green creature rather than another human being. It was a goblin. She knew very well what it was, she had read about them in many tales. Usually they were frightening creatures, but this one seemed rather sweet. She wasn't afraid of it at all. He seemed rather shy, almost afraid to speak even. Fara found herself very endeared to this little creatures akwardness, and for a flash of a moment she thought of running up to him and hugging to assure him not to be scared. But she thought better not to do that, it would probably only make him feel more uncomfortable. Instead, she simply asked him: "Is everything okay little guy?" Though his skin was quite dark, it seemed as though he might have been blushing from her kind words. "Ma'am, dinner is served," he said, trying to make his voice sound big and powerful, but it just came out like a tiny squeak, "If you will please follow me." He held out his had akwardly and swept it towards the hallway behind him. She smiled at the cute little creature and walked towards him, her dress swishing elegantly behind her. "Why thank you, you kind little goblin." she said to him, and as a gesture of thanks she patted him on the head. He looked down at the floor, embarassed at being trated so nicely. 'Jareth never treated him like that,' he thought to himself with a grin and began to lead her to the dining room.

Jareth sat awaiting his Lady, taking small sips of wine, the table in front of them strewn with tons and tons of delicious foods, too many and too much to count. "Where is that wretched little creature." he scowled, talking about the goblin, of course. Jareth could be very impatient. His fingers drummed on the large oak table, the serving goblins standing at attention near the door flinched at the soft sound, Jareth scared them. He knew if they did the slightest thing wrong they'd be either chained up in the dungeons or banished to the swamp. Such horrib punishments..ugh. Jareth was very cruel to them. On occasion, he was in a very good mood and treated them all like good friends, but those occasions were very rare occasions indeed..
As Jareth played with a fork in boredom, he looked up to see the large doors to the dining hall being pushed open, and in came his Lady Fair, the wretched little goblin trailing along after him. Jareth stood and bowed to the lady, taking her hand and kissing it as he bowed, then pulled out her chair for her, and gently pushed it in. As he took his seat, he couldn't help but admire the gown and makeup she had chosen, or the way she had done her hair, she'd done it all so perfect, she looked radiant. "Might i compliment you my lady, on your pampering, you do look absoloutely stunning." he said in a gentlemanly way, as he poured out the white wine to drink, that went along with the first course of their meal to come.
He noticed a slight blush arose in her cheeks, and that made him chuckle quite happily. "No need to be bashful, my dear, what I say is the absoloute truth, your looks rival the most gorgeous of goddesses'." his flattery went on, his voice positively oozing with seduction and adoration, and he was pleased to see her falling slightly under his spell, unable to take her eyes off of his handsome face. Yes, soon he could take the girl for his own, without guilt, because she will have fallen just as hard for him, as he did with her.

She traveled down the hall with the little goblin. She wanted to ask him his name, but before she could they arrived at a giant set of doors. They yawned open to reveal the most exquisite dining hall she had ever seen! She pet the goblin's head as thanks once again and made her way into the room. The goblin blushed once more and looked over in Jareth's direction, hoping that Fara's act of kindness hadn't awakened the King's wrath.
The entire room was lit by rich candlelight, making for a very romantic setting. Thick tapestries hung on the walls; depicting babies being carried off into the night by goblins. She approached the oversized table in the middle of the room. IT was laid out with a wide variety of meats, cheeses, bread, wines and other delightful looking dishes! It was at that moment that she realized just how hungry she was - it felt like she hadn't eaten in ages!
The very handsome, ethereal man - Jareth, she remembered his name being - waited for her at the table. She approached him and curtsied with as much grace as she could muster. She politely said, "Thank you so much, sir Jareth, for having me here as a dinner companion. He gave her a deep bow and kissed her hand, spending quite a lot of time admiring and complimenting her. She couldn't help but blush at all the affection he showered on her. The compliments continued to be rained down upon her, leaving her somewhat speechless. She was very captivated by his oddly curious, but kind, eyes. She enjoyed his company very much while they dined. He was very gentlemanly the entire time they ate, waiting on her as much as possible - asking her if she needed more food or drink. It was quite nice to be taken care of. Fara was used to fending for herself back at home, being the oldest of the siblings as her mother was always too busy with her 3 younger children. She was feeling rather comfortable around Jareth, feeling as if she could talk to him plainly, and asked him: "May I ask you a few questions?" But without waiting for a response from her dining partner, she continued, "What is this place? And why did you bring me here?" She smiled, so he knew she was not trying to be hostile with her line of questioning.

A coy smile grazed Jareth's lips as she asked him these questions. He was happy that she was curious about them, and had been waiting until she asked them, he knew she would sooner or later. "Well, my dear, this place, is made of dreams. Of every young girl's dream to be somewhere different, to be treated like a princess, this is what this land is made of. and you just happen to be in my kingdom of the Labyrinth, fair lady."
He paused here, picking up his goblet and taking a small sip, before gently setting it down.
"As for the reason you are here. I have been watching you for quite some time. Did you know that?"
She shook her head. He smiled again.
"I had a feeling you wouldn't. But I was there, leaving you little gifts when you were sad, which was an awful lot of the time. I couldn't bear to see such a beautiful girl crying so often. No, someone like you, needs to be treated as the princess you are. " he took another sip and a small bite of food before carrying on,
"So, that's why you are here,I wished to lavish the attentions of a princess upon you, i was sick of seeing you so upset." He gave her a sympathetic look. "I saw how cruelly you were treated at home, and at times it made me so very angry, I just wanted to snatch you up right then and there, but I couldn't, the time just wasn't right. So, i waited until your family was gone, and you were home alone, sobbing sadly on the floor, and I took you away from that horrid place."
"Does that answer all of your questions, love, or do you have more?" he asked her with a soft teasing grin, almost hoping she did have lots of questions, as he did love answering them.
