Show Synopsis: Battlestar Galactica (often abbreviated as BSG or just Galactica) is a British-Canadian-American military science fiction serial drama television series and part of the Battlestar Galactica franchise. The show was created by Glen A. Larson and written by Ronald D. Moore, as a re-imagining of the Battlestar Galactica television series which started airing in 1978. The series first aired as a three-hour miniseries in December 2003 on the Sci Fi network and ran for four seasons thereafter, ending its run on March 20, 2009. The series featured Emmy Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated Edward James Olmos and Academy Award-nominated Mary McDonnell and garnered a wide range of critical acclaim, including a Peabody Award and the Television Critics Association's Program of the Year Award, as well as Emmy nominations for its writing and directing. The story arc of Battlestar Galactica is set in a distant part of the galaxy, where a civilization of humans live on a series of planets known as the Twelve Colonies. In the past, the Colonies have been at war with a cybernetic race known as the Cylons. With the unwitting help of a human named Gaius Baltar, the Cylons launch a sudden ambush on the Colonies, laying waste to the planets and devastating their populations. The handful of human survivors flee into space aboard any spacecraft they can reach. Of all the Colonial Fleet, the Battlestar Galactica appears to be the only military capital ship that survived the attack. Under the leadership of famed military leader Commander William "Bill" Adama, the Battlestar Galactica and its crew take up the task of leading the small fugitive fleet of survivors into space in search of a fabled refuge known as Earth.

GUILD VIEWING FOR BATTLE STAR GALACTICA
Because of time differences we obviously can't watch the same episode at the same time all the time, so this is how it works: There is a date in which to aim for where you have a certain number of episodes watched. That's it! It's very simple. There are 4 episodes per block of viewing, so the schedule looks like this:
Name of Episode # Name of Episode # Name of Episode # Name of Episode #
---> Date to have finished watching by
Of course anyone can view at whatever speed they want and of course this isn't by any means a strict schedule - just an attempt at a long distance collective viewing. For Battlestar we pretty much have given up on the "watch by" dates as the desire to ravenously watch the show makes them pretty pointless. 8B
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE
-- Season 1 --
DONE AND DONE SON! heart
-- Season 2 --
COMPLETE! heart
-- Season 3 --
KAKOW! heart
-- Season 4 --
OVER AND OUT! heart

I watched the first 3 episodes with Matt like 2 years ago - but this time around I paid attention! Matt and I would always go off on tangents. ninja
So far, counting the mini-series, I really like Helo's story. I foresee his life sucking a lot though. I like Kara a lot too - but that could also be because I loooooove her callsign. :B
And this episode was pretty intense, yeah? Poor crew - no sleep for days and days and leaving a ship behind. Uggghh depressing! So few left! It made me sad, even with the bahbuh bein' born at the end of it.

Water:
No sleep, no water; life suuuuucks.
I want to see more Adama and Roslin conversations. They intrigue me immensely. And boo for 2 mins of Helo time!

Why 33 minutes? Really? Hopefully The Plan will tell us!
Water:
Was Boomer programmed to blow herself up if she found water? Fight the machine! (In this case, the machine is yourself I guess...)
Bastille Day:
Tom Zarek is the s**t. And he's really a nice guy in real life.

Bastille Day:
This episode annoyed me - but if you say Zarek is the s**t then I shall believe you!
I am slowly growing to really, really like Saul Tigh. I think Michael Hogan has the coolest way of talking/delivering lines. xd

Ok I have watched the first 5 episodes instead of 4 so far. Sorry Kristiie, but Battlestar is like potato chips, you really can't have just one.
33 No sleep and Cylons attacking every 33 minutes, talk about some shitty times. Awesome to see Helo back, he was originally going to be dropped after the miniseries but the fans said "f** that" , and I'm glad they did.
Water Poor Boomer, having no control over herself and being victim and perptrator of the sabotage. Cheif Tyrol is one of my favorite characters, you really grow to like as the show goes on.
Bastille Day Tom Zarek. Very cool guy, A bit of a rocky start, but another character you start to like even though he might not have the most honorable tactics. But once you know more about him, you start to understand why he fiercly fights for what he believes in.
Act of Contrition Awesome opening, Roland Moore's way of saying "get off my back SciFi". Suffice to say they never tried to interfere with his writing of the episodes after that. Poor Starbuck and her guilt over the death of Zak Adama, and the scene where she tells the "old man". Yay for the first appearence od Hot Dog.

I watched the first 5 too! I didn't know Act of Contrition was a two parter so... xd
Act of Contrition:
This is the first episode I've genuinely enjoyed; and what was Roland's message to SciFi with this episode Adam? TELL ME MORES.
I like BSG so far, but I do find the dialogue to be a little predictable at times. I like the stories being told more then the words that get me through them. But I do like it! And it is pretty addicting, which is fun!

Act of Contrition: I think this episode was soooo sad and sooo poignant. A real tear jerker. Plus, we get to meet Kat and Hot Dog, 2 characters who really grow through out the series (especially Kat).
Adama Quote: "Now walk out of here while you still can." Ka-KOW!
You Can't Go Home Again: Yeah, we forgot it was a 2 parter so...yeah. Damn, if Starbuck isn't the most ingenious character ever! I luvs the Lee-Starbuck-Adama dynamic.
Adama Quote: "Do you even have to ask? If it was you, we'd never leave." *tear*

I don't remember exactly the whole story but SciFi was butting in early on in the series because they thought it was more darker that it had to be. So Roland Moore sort of took a stand by killing 13 people right of the bat. Of course there was the genocide early, but this sort of morbid opening was his little "it's my show and I do what I want". If I find the article again i'll show it to you.
You can't go home again
Flying inside a living cylon sounds disgusting, by my god it was cool how Starbuck pulled it off. Great moment when Adama told Lee how he'ed never leave if it was him. I agree about the Roslin/Adama conversations, they get much better over time.

You Can't Go Home Again:
I loved how Kara wrote "Starbuck" under the wings of the Cylon Raider! ANDOMGPOORHELO! Alone again. gonk
I'm on the Lee/Kara/Adama bandwagon too, very interesting relationships. I wonder where they will end up... Kekeke.

Litmus Poor Galactica Boomer and Cheif, things just seem to keep sucking more and more for them. On the other hand Caprica Boomer and Helo's relationship is getting more interesting. Where is Lee throughout this entire episode???

Litmus: Lee is probably off sneaking DOUGHNUTS. YAR, where are the DOUGHNUTS?? (sorry, Kristie inside joke We'll tell you about it when we get to the episode. Or did we tell you?).
Anyway, the trial of the century begins based off of one question: Who left the hatch open?! Helo has to choose between rescuing Sharon or going on without her. Very touching.
Adama Quote: "You'll have to walk out on that hangar deck everyday, knowing that your man is in the brig, because you couldn't keep your fly zipped."
