Kirby CAN talk. If you see any of the stage intros and cutscenes in Kirby's dreamland 2 and 3 he talks to his friends. They just don't list dialogue. It's probably better this way.

It's probably better this way. but those are just cutscenes. you dont know if that's just what he's thinking or if it's just a narrator telling us what's happening. then again..... i never played Kirby's Dreamland 2 or 3 so all of you might think my comment is just plain vague and stupid........ stare

Well yeah, I do think that but that assumption is to be expected. Anyway, in Dreamland 2 and 3 and Kirby 64, Kirby moves his mouth and sometimes his arms when facing his friends, and they respond with similar actions thus carrying on a conversation. It's really no different from all the old RPGs where the main character never has written dialogue but the other characters understand them anyway.

He's been proven to talk multiple times. In the instruction booklet for Dreamland 1, he talks, in the intro for Adventure and its remake, he talks (a little) in the intro for Tilt'n'Tumble, he talks.
And I believe he has his most dialogue-heavy role in the Japan only Super Star Stacker.
EDIT: He also explained the rules in the first Star Stacker.

I mean i can settle for speech bubbles but when he didn't talk in full sentences in the show that was a let down. He could at least say "greetings beings of the sided pointy planet (popstar)". "my name is Kirby" and stop talking after that but noooo........... He had to go on and say POYO! jeez.....

Also, in the Japanese version, his vocabulary actually did expand.

Zakeru97 StarFaerieNomad This topic has been done before. =D really? D: Yes, and the verdict was unanimous: Kirby can talk. People who don't think he can't don't really know the truth of Kirby. My apologies for harshness, but this is something that I think not many people even try to figure out. Smash Bros and the anime, while creations of Sakurai, doesn't really tell the real Kirby. Gotta dig deeper into the source material.

Anime =/= games. NME is just the terrible 4kids name. ...your claim lacks crucial evidence (hell, it lacks evidence period).
