 -=PROJECT GREYSWORD=-~ Story~ The world is in a state of unrest. Mutants are forced to take sides under either Professor Xavier's X-Men or Magneto's Brotherhood. On top of that, government officials have been capturing mutants for who knows what purpose. However, all this conflict occurs away from public eyes and somehow avoids all the extra media attention... But another force is rising amidst the chaos : The Greysword Mercenaries. A band of mutants who perform dangerous tasks from assassinations to heists to intelligence gathering; all for whoever pays the most. However, they appear to be a neutral side... for now, that is... ~ Information~ There are four sides in this conflict. The X-Men, the Brotherhood, the government's anti-mutant unit (GAMU), and the Greyswords. All characters from the X-Men universe exist in this story but the Greyswords may only be original characters. The Greyswords will constantly be undergoing missions, in which temporary NPC's may be brought in. These characters will only be around during the mission and are more or less free for anyone to control.

~Rules~
1. secrecy25 is the leader of this RP and has absolute power in here. Disobedience can be fatal...
2. Read the damned rules. Seriously.
3. Semi-lit to literate RP level. At least three sentences per post. Less than twenty words gets you a warning.
4. Occasional spelling/grammar errors are okay but if you're really bad, I'll have to tutor you myself. eek
5. Posts must be in third-person, avoid double posting and try to avoid very plain posts... At least state the name of the character whom you're posting as at the start of the post.
6. Vulgarity isn't illegal but curse too much and I'll fire mah lazor at you...
7. Be nice to others.
8. OOC chat must be placed in any of these double brackets : (()), [], {} or anything as long as we can tell which one the OOC is.
9. No txt tlk or L33t Sp3aK, or I'll bash your head with a large mallet.
10. Follow Gaia's TOS.
11. No cybering!! scream
12. Violence is encouraged but you need permission (from me, and the other RP-er) to gravely injure or kill another person's character.
13. God-modding or auto-hitting or auto-dodging = Auto-kick. But I'll warn you first.
14. Romance is allowed but please spare us all a favour and cut out the explicit scenes. Detail is good but not everyone wants to know what two people do behind closed doors...
15. Use the profile skeletons and PM me the completed profiles. When I give you the thumbs-up, you may post your profile in the profile thread.
16. Title your PM "Greysword" and place a mrgreen somewhere in the PM so that I know you've read the rules.
17. If your submission is being declined for any reason, you will receive a PM as well. If you havn't received anything, then I probably havn't read the PM yet.
18. Did I miss anything? More rules will be added if necessary.

Enter : Overclock
A lawyer was pacing his office nervously. A couple of hired thugs were on guard at his door. There was a note in his hand, which was trembling violently. And the note read :
Mr. Lawrence Stevenson. You've been corrupt, I hear. My client wants you... exterminated... Goodbye.
The sound of thunder crashed, and the lawyer gasped. A gloved hand was holding a knife to his neck while another arm was wrapped around his chest.
"...It's nothing personal. It's just business. Goodbye."
The next morning's newspaper covered this story : Three men found dead in lawyer's apartment. No trace of evidence found...
Vince walked into a dingy bar, named simply 'Bob's Place'. Vince looked straight at the bartender, with a stern look on his face. The bartender spotted him and nodded curtly. Bob, the bartender, actually handled the Greyswords' assignments and was in charge of talking to clients.
Vince headed into the washroom and opened the door to a closet. To any ordinary person, they would merely see a closet filled with brooms, mops, and all sorts of cleaning utensils. Vince stepped inside and shut the door. Then he spoke up, "Codename : Overclock" The whole closet room started to move downwards; it was really a voice-activated elevator, which brought the Greyswords into their underground hideout. A nifty piece of technology that Vince developed himself.
Vince stepped out of the elevator once it came to a stop. "Good evening, Marc, Dante," he said, greeting his two fellow Greyswords. ~Cpt. Zachery Hawkins (Hawkeye)~
Enter : Hawkeye
"Alright remember team, there are civilians on board this aircraft so watch your fire. Hawkins, Anderson, you two go left. Jackson and I will take the right. Ready? Go go go!"
Zack and his team made their way from the back of the plane to the upper level, where the hostages were. They took down the masked hijackers with precise and efficient shots.
"Go go, up the stairs! Watch those corners!" yelled Cpt. Freeman. In just two minutes, the team had cleared most of the aircraft. But just when they were reaching the hostages, Cpt. Freeman took a bullet in his leg and fell to the floor. "Captain's down!" yelled Zack. Anderson stood over his fallen captain as Zack opened the doors. There was a lone hijacker there, holding a hostage at gunpoint. Without hesitation, Zack pulled out his M9 and fired a shot into the hijacker's exposed forehead, just an inch from the hostage's terrified face.
Jackson pulled off his headgear and said to his teammates, "Daaamn, Hawkins. That's one hell of a shot. Mission accomplished, let's get outta here team."
Zack stepped into his new office. "Leader of the government's anti-mutant unit, huh?" he muttered to himself. After being promoted to Captain, Zack was handpicked out of about a hundred other officers to lead this operation. And tomorrow, they'll begin reconaissance and fieldwork...((start posting y'all... greyswords are all currently in their underground hideout. GAMU characters are in their base of operations, which looks something like the one in Heroes season 3. xd ))

Astrid sat at a desk at the GAMU base of operations. It had been a bit slow around the base. She sat staring at the blade that was twisting into the oak wood of the desk.
She heard footsteps behind her and frowned even more than she was earlier. the combat knife stopped twirling and her right hand gripped it's handle tightly. She thought about throwing the knife but her hand refused. She looked up and saw Zak.
Immediately, she hopped to her feet. "Sir," she said and followed him with light feet.  Kaija McArthur~ Pyra
A small, thin girl walked into a small cafe. It was late in the afternoon, and she knew that there would be people, but she was hungry. She hadn't eaten in a few days, and she didn't like to steal.
"What can ah get for ya," the manager asked looking at the girl's ragged clothes that hid her tiny frame.
"A slice of bread please and some water," she said quietly. Making sure not to touch the precious wooden counter as she stepped up on her tiptoes to look at the man. Anyone could tell that he had eaten well.
The man nodded, "Com'n right up, sweetheart," he said a bit sadly. "Why don't you wait here and I'll go fix it myself?"
Pyra nodded and let her eyes wander around as the manager went to the back.
A man, spying her from the front counter, hunger in his eyes but not for food. "I can pay you," he told the girl.
"For what," the girl nearly growled trying to hide the already provoked anger with the statement. "I don't advise you touching me," she warned.
But the man ignored it. He grabbed her wrists, covered with the arms of the sweatshirt and backed her up against the counter. He came dangerously close, more than the girl liked.
Flames sprouted in her eyes, the man in horror, threw her onto the wooden floor. Her bare hands and face touched it. First the wood began to burn, then it lit as the girl stood. The man went to pick her up, a knife held in his hand, but as soon as his skin touched hers, a great cry sounded from his mouth. The room smelled of burning flesh and the girl was no longer able to be seen.
Pyra ran out of the cafe. I told him not to touch me, this is not my fault...

((uhh, you do realize that anything in italics indicates thought? which means that mission is a flashback from, say, about a year ago. it had nothing to do with the GAMU sweatdrop
note : i have a tendency to start off all of my characters with flashbacks. it helps to tell people what they're like.))

*Dante Leatherberry (Twilight Guardian)*  Dante smiles as he pulls his head up form a laptop that he was upgrading with his hacking skills. "Hello sir." He thne puts his head back down to the screan as he continues, "Is there any new missions that we have?" He then finnishes hacking the computer so that it had an untrackable sireal number and signal that would give off a virus to what attempted to hack into it. He also made it run aslot faster than what it used to and added in 10 more back up systems and firewalls than what a computer would normally have. His laptop is protected by the firewalls and programs that he makes himself.

Vince chuckled a little at Dante's greeting. He raised an eyebrow and said, "Please, just call me Vince. This isn't the military." Vince then turned around and headed for the fridge. As he opened the fridge door, he said, "Quite right, and an interesting task it is that we've got here..." Vince pulled out a small bottle of water. He took a few gulps and returned the bottle to the fridge.
Taking a seat on the couch, he pulled a file out of his coat and tossed it onto the coffee table. A few photos and papers were poking out of the file. "This morning, a man named Harvey Gallagher walked into Bob's place. His little daughter, Lily had been taken hostage by a local gang about a week ago for a large ransom." Vince opened the file and showed Marc and Dante the photo of a simple-looking man in his early-forties and a little girl, just about half his height.
Clearing his throat, Vince continued, "Now naturally, Mr. Gallagher tried the police first but this gang seemed to be smarter than they look. They've somehow managed to avoid the cops. Eventually, he couldn't pay the ransom and the gang got mad and killed his daughter, just last night. When Bob told him about our 'services', he immediately signed a contract. Ten thousand bucks for revenge..."~Cpt. Zachery Hawkins (Hawkeye)~
"Good evening, Sky," said Zack in a rather casual manner. He didn't want to give everyone the impression that he was a strict and uptight soldier. "Let's get down to business. We have a small assignment to deal with." Zack sat down and beckoned to Sky to take a seat in the chair opposite his desk.
"Our recon teams on the streets report that there is word going round of a local gang being led by a mutant. There are no absolute details regarding this so-called mutant so for starters, we'll be joining the recon team for the next few days." Zack massaged his neck and continued, "Yeah, I know this job sounds kinda boring but if the news is true, we'll have plenty of work ahead of us..."

Freeflyer Marc watched Vince walked in. The man seemed like his usual self. He held a folder in his hand, good news for Marc. Itd been awhile since they sent him out solo. And it was what he wanted. But working as a team didnt make much of a differince. He looked at the Mission Prep and smirked, saying to Vince "Let me have this one. I think I can handle it myself, dont you think?"
His confidence radiated through his smile, and they knew of his strength. This type of thing was his specialty, because of his history with things like that. He knew the way people in those groups primarily reacted, how they would act, and how to counter these attempts. So normally, it'd be easier to just let him do it rather then risk more peoples well being.
