Welcome to the Ardent's Photoshoot. The steampunk adventure Ardent is comissioning a group portrait by Nautche, the details of which will be discussed here. All Ardent members, please assist Nautche in capturing the essence of your character. Detailed information on your character's appearance as well as any possible reference (even if not exact...tekteks are great, too. If you make a tektek, please save it under the name Ardent) is needed, so please post that. As the game progresses and our character's personalities and relationships become more apparent, the poses of the characters will become certain, though you're free to suggest early on. All updates on the portrait as well as character information will be posted here in the OP. And by the way, please don't touch the equipment, or we'll sic Rem on you.So Far So Good! Okay, so, now that the thread is created...I'll have the players post their character's appearances, references (and the occassional tektek, I find those are helpful) here. I'll place that information in the OP so you don't have to search through the thread. c: For now, since the game has only just started, I think just sketching the characters to get a good feel for them is a good idea.
As for payment, since it is in the form of evolving items, how about this: to start off with I give you one evolving item of your choice (reve rouille, the nightmare, lyndexer's journal or fremere's guard...look 'em up and take your pick). Once we get a first draft, I'll start a trade with you that has the rest of the goods in it, and once it's finished you get them all. C: Or, you could do something incremental if you want. It's up to you.

Physical Description:
Cas Seingalt is the second-shortest in the group, the first being of course the child-sized Rem. She is only barely taller than the scientist, slender, curvy and well-endowed as all members of her race are. She wears her dark, wavy brown hair long and down to her waist. Her long ears, of course, are always poking out. Cas bristles with weaponry, carrying her easily recognizable clockwork rifle whenever possible. At her side hangs a revolver, rapier and a collection of daggers. She dresses in elegant lady’s clothing: a tight, revealing corset, lacy bustling skirts and folds of cloth. (Regardless of the photograph) she never wears loose or open sleeves, and tends to tie them so they don't hang (but not up--the kottan bell white and black sleeve is a good example) most dresses come that way.

EDIT: This one looks a little better. The hair's more cracked out and I found better pants. SHAZAM.
Had way too much fun with this. In other news, thanks to tektek, I want this to actually BE my avatar. Only 270k to go -__-

I checked a few of those things... I mainly want the white blouse, pants and goggles. I can use any brown... stuff. Basically, I want an outfit that will match the speeder bike that I just spent my savings on. XD

The tunic only in arterial red rather than black
The jerkin... if the jerkin were brown rather than black with silver studs. Also, Fort would wear his open to the sternum and probably only a bit past his waist.
The Rapier.
The Bolter if Fort favored blue, of course. Fort's own piece is predominately gunmetal gray with a blued-chrome cylinder and slide.
For the record, I cannot stand TekTek. They never have what I'm looking for...so perhaps I should lodge a complaint with Gaia rather than abusing the middle man. Nevermind.
Egregious Physical Description: Captain Fort shouldn't cut a terribly imposing figure by dint of his frame. He stands just under five feet eleven inches and is whipcord lean. He's long-limbed, but falls short of appearing awkward or gangly. Instead, he has the body of a dancer (if one wants to get colorful) or a fencer (if one wants to be accurate). He is, as has been pointed out several times already, almost effeminately fine-featured. With a face composed principally of well-wrought planes and angles, he has the bearing of an archangel on the eve of his fall; soft-featured, and yet with a firm, patrician cast to his face. His hair falls in a crimson torrent to his shoulders, straight and thick. When working, it is almost always bound back into a loose tail with a black leather thong.

Physical Description: Aleta is approximately five foot six, being tall for her race. Her body is toned and lean with modest curves. Her skin is pale but she has light freckles that spread across the bridge of her nose and out to her cheeks. Bright red hair normally hangs down to the middle of her back and her heavy bangs are normally swept off to the side. Her eyes are emerald green and a large Cheshire cat worthy smile is almost always present on her face. Her way of dressing is fairly casual. She rarely wears anything that includes a skirt. The normal attire would consist of oversized pants that hang low on her hips, being kept up only by her tool belt. Her top half is normally covered by a simple tank or corset top. She wears work boots and leather gloves with the tips cut off to expose the tips of her fingers. The last detail would be the goggles that are always set upon her head.
Honestly just draw Aleta how you envision her : ]

Pictures are probably better than tekteks, so if you can, any sort of reference helps. I'll be compiling a bunch of pictures for Nautch to mix and match and work from for Cas, myself.

So, is the pricing arrangement fine? I'll send you the first EI.
By the way, I would really really like sketches asap (don't need to be the poses they'll end up in) just so we get something to drool over and be super happy about. And having sketches early on will allow you to get feedback from players and work on it. I'll give you one of the EIs early for that. x3
By the way, when this beast of a portrait is finally finished, I'm willing to bet you're going to get a lot of tips. c:

Finally got this in:  Rem is around five feet tall and two inches 4'11. His build is small and lean. He could easily pass for a child, or a woman. His eyes are bright sapphire shade. His hair is a dark inky black shade. It’s a bit longer than usual, but he really is not in the mood to cut it. His clothing is always dark, and a bit expensive. He’s spent too many years in rags so he might be spoiling himself now that he has the wealth. I get the feeling that he likes to wear top hats, since he’s so short, but have yet to actually tie that into the story. So no hats… for now.

Cute little Remmy. x3 I'm absolutely in love with this dress, sans hair and hat, though you can't see much of it. :C I'll put that as her dress, and my final decision, because yes I am indecisive. XD
