~Promises Kept~

Luna sat leaning against a tree,reading,when she heard the commotion starting.She looked up to see a few older kids picking on a boy her age.She clenched her fists;closed the book,set it aside,then stood up and brushed a lock of her black hair from her face.Luna hated bullies.She walked up to the leader and pushed him back,her pale-blue eyes burning with anger."Leave him alone!"-she said.The other kids started jeering and laughing.The leader asked mockingly,"Or what?" Luna glared at him,made as if to turn away,then turned around and punched him as hard as she could,which was hard enough to knock him down."Or that."-Luna said.The other kids looked at Luna in surprise,thought better than to mess with her,and left.The leader of the group stood up,glared at her,then left quickly.Luna then turned to the boy she'd just defended."You okay?"-she said,offering a hand."Hai."-he said,taking her hand.She helped him up."Arigato."-the boy said."Nevermind.I just can't stand bullies."-Luna replied,then added,"Watashi wa Luna." "Watashi wa Rock Lee."-the boy replied.

Luna stood outside the classroom,shifting her feet impatiently."Luna-chan!"-she heard someone call.She looked up to see her best friend for four years running up to her."You're late,Lee-kun."-she said,rather annoyed."Gomenasai!"-he replied breathlessly."Whatever."-Luna said dismissively.Then they looked deeply into each other's eyes."Well,here goes."-Luna said."Hai."-Lee agreed."I hope I'm in your team.But if not;promise we won't stop hanging out."-Luna said."We will still be friends,no matter what."-he replied.They clapped hands and held on."Gambare!"-Luna said brightly."Hai!"-Lee replied equally brightly.Then they walked into the classroom.

Luna blocked Lee's kick and pushed him aside throwing a kick of her own,which in turn he blocked.A year had passed since their graduation and ,while they'd been asigned to different teams,they kept their promise to hang out whenever possible.They sparred often;it usually ended in a tie,but they both had a few wins.Lee was faster than Luna,but she was stronger.The fights usually went on for a while,sometimes for hours even.This was one such fight.They'd been at it for an hour and a half.So far,no one was winning.Luna threw a reckless punch and,realizing her mistake too little too late,recived a kick to the chest in full force.She fell back a ways,the breath knocked out of her."Gomenasai!"-Lee said concernedly.Luna looked up at him with fire in her eyes."You are so dead!"-she half gasped.She ran at him and kicked him hard,knocking him against a tree.Then she threw a punch,which Lee managed to dodge.Luna hit the tree,leaving a dent in it when she pulled out.From then on,they fought more intensely.The fight went on for another half hour,before Lee threw a punch that Luna grabbed.She flipped him over her shoulder;he landed on his feet and pulled her to the floor instead.Luna caught him in a leg-lock and knocked him down.She pinned him with her knee on his back and by twisting his arm behind him and putting pressure on a certain nerve.Lee tried to move but Luna put more pressure on his hand.It was useless,she'd won."Alright:you win this round."-Lee finally admitted."And?"-Luna coaxed."You have improved."-Lee added."Arigato!"-Luna said,grinning.She stood,and offered a hand.Lee took it,and she helped him up."Wow,it's late!We should probably get back home."-Luna said."Hai."-Lee agreed.They left the training grounds.As they walked,Luna broke the silence."I have a mission tomorrow.I probably won't be back for a few days."-she said."Then I will see you off."-Lee said."You'd better."-Luna warned.Then she hung an arm over Lee's shoulder.He did the same,and they walked on.
It was early morning and Luna's team(composed by Luna and the twins:Kansaki Tetsuyo and Hideki) stood at the village gates;the twins yawning,Luna reading.Five minutes afterwards,their sensei,Hajime,arrived."Ohayo."-he said to them."Ohayo,Hajime-sensei."-they replied,the twins sleepily and Luna rather distractedly.Luna put her book away and looked around."Are you waiting for someone,Luna-chan?"-Tetsuyo asked."Mm."-she replied absently.Just then,Luna saw Lee running up to them."Ohayo Gosaimasu!"-he said when he got to them."You're late.I was beginning to think you weren't gonna show."-Luna said."Gomen."-he said.Luna smiled."Well;see ya."-she said."You had better come back alright;I am looking forward to our next spar."-Lee said."Oh,I'll get back alright.That's a promise."-Luna said.They clapped hands in their usual greeting."Gambare!"-Lee said cheerfuly."Hai!"-Luna replied.Then Luna and her team left Konohagakure.

Two days had passed since Hajime's team were due to arrive back to Konohagakure,but still there had arrived no word from them.Sole,Luna's older brother and ANBU captain,paced in front of the Hokage's desk worriedly;his teammate and girlfriend,Mitsukai,stood behind him.Sole's eyes were a slightly darker shade of blue than Luna's,other than that they looked very much alike,he looked rather young for his age;Mitsukai was somewhat taller than Sole,her hair was colored a dark shade of aqua and reached to her neck when she let it loose,her eyes were a deep shade of aqua that rivaled her hair."It's been two days;there should have been word from them by now.Something's not right.The mission itself worried me from the start.The client was hiding something."-Sole said."You're not alone in your concern,Sole;but let's not jump into conclusions."-the Hokage said."We should be looking for them.I should be looking for them."-Sole said distressfuly."Calm down.I understand you're worried about Luna,demo--"-the Hokage started,but Sole cut him off."Worried!?'Worried' doesn't even begin to describe!I'm scared to death that something might have happened to her!I'm supposed to look after her,and she's missing and I'm here!"-he half yelled,slightly histerical."Sole,calm down."-Mitsukai said,placing her hand on Sole's shoulder.Sole placed his hand on hers and sighed deeply."Gomenasai,Hokage-sama."-he said.The Hokage sighed.

"Hideki,cover Luna!"-Hajime yelled...

The guards at the gate stood there exchanging jokes,when some movement caught their attention.They looked in it's direction,to see a young girl covered in blood limping towards them.Her clothes were ripped and beneath,deep bleeding cuts were visible;her right arm seemed broken and her left leg was in bad shape.They noticed she seemed to be carrying something with her left hand.Then she looked up at them and they recognized her immediately."Luna-chan!"-one of them said,and they ran to her.She extended her left arm at them,as if to give them what she carried with her,then collapsed.One of the guards got there in time to catch her before she hit the ground.He picked her up and what she carried fell out of her hand.The other guard picked it up.It was a bloody scroll."Sealed."-the guard said."Take it to the Hokage-sama and inform him of this.I'll take her to the hospital."-the guard carrying Luna said.The other guard nodded and they left;two others taking their place at the gate.

Then they heard a scream of deep agony,closely followed by the sickening sound of flesh ripping.Luna and Hideki truned around in time to see Tetsuyo,or rather,what was left of him...

Luna opened her eyes slowly.She blinked at the flood of light that greeted her.When her eyes adjusted,she slowly looked around her.She saw she was in a hospital;then recognized she was home.She felt someone was holding her hand,and looked down to her side to see-- "Luna-chan!"-Lee exclaimed when he noticed she was awake.Luna tried to sit up,then whinced in pain and looked down at herself,to see she was covered with bandages.Lee helped her sit up;he knew it'd be pointless to try to persuade her to lie back down:Luna was too stubborn;she always had been.Luna looked down at her hands;then with her left hand,which was mostly unharmed,she felt the area of her chest where her heart beat.She felt the deep gash that the medics hadn't been able to heal completely.She started trembling,remembering how she had gotten that gash.

As Luna blocked away the incoming hail of shuriken as best as she could,she failed to notice the blade-tipped,spiked whips aimed straight at her.She looked around at the last second."HIDEKI!!!!!"-Luna screamed in horror.Hideki had gotten in the way of the blades.They wrapped around him,cutting deep as they tightened.Then with a twisted smile,the enemy pulled the whip...

"Luna-chan!"-Lee said worriedly,shaking her a bit.She had covered her face with her hands and was trembling,rocking herself back and forth.She cried out and clung to him.Lee hugged her tightly,and Luna started to sob silently.

Luna tried to dodge the chained blades heading for her,but two of the blades impaled her left shoulder and ribcage.She screamed in agony.Hajime,who'd just managed to defeat the kage bunshin,ran his katana through the holes in the chains and pulled the blades out of Luna,who cried out in further agony,and ran at her attacker.Luna wrapped her broken right arm around her left ribcage,whincing.Then she gasped as she felt another blade go clean through her left leg;followed by pain so accute,she hardly felt it at all.The bladed-whips weilding enemy pulled the whip back,causing Luna to trip and fall forward before the blade pulled free of her leg.Luna felt blinded by the pain.She rolled over in time to dodge the whip.Then her attaker turned her attention over to Hajime fighting the other enemy.She ran over,striking her whip at Hajime as she neared them.Hajime was unable to evade the whip as he was trying to avoid the chained blades.Painfully wrapped by the spiked whips,Hajime was met by the chained blades impaling him.Luna's eyes widdened in horror as the enemy pulled their weapons...

"Judging by the state Luna arrived in and the lack of the rest of her team;they could very well be dead."-Mitsukai said to the present company in the Hokage's office."It's a grim thought;but you're most likely right,Mitsukai."-the Hokage agreed."And Luna still isn't speaking?"-he asked Sole,who was leaning by the door staring at the floor with his arms folded over his chest.Sole shook his head slowly,not looking up."Whatever she went through must have been horrible indeed.Still;to pull through enough to complete her mission.I find that admirable."-the Hokage said,looking down at the blood-covered,sealed scroll set on the desk in front of him."We should mount another search for Hajime-san and the Kansaki twins.Even if they are dead,they're our only hope for answers since Luna-chan isn't speaking."-Mitsukai suggested."Hmm.I think you're right."-the Hokage said."Sole,will you go;or will you be staying with Luna?"-he asked Sole."I'd like to stay with her as much as possible;demo,if I am needed for the search,I'll go."-Sole replied."Very well."-the Hokage said.
Luna lay curled up on the grass with her legs drawn up close to her,one arm hugging her side and was bitting a finger from her other hand;her head was resting on Lee's stomach.Lee was laying across from Luna with his head resting on one arm and with the other he ran his fingers slowly through Luna's hair;that seemed to calm her.It was a calm,breezy day.The past four days had been hectic for them all;Luna often had panic attacks,every night she had nightmares she woke up screaming and sobbing from,though she wouldn't talk about what they were.Actually,she hadn't said anything at all since she had woken up in the hospital.She would become histerical if left alone for too long.She was,however,mostly calm when she had Sole,Mitsukai or Lee for company;and they hardly left her side.Still,Luna didn't seem to be all there;she remained somewhat catatonic."I wish you would say something.It pains me to see you like this,Luna-chan.I miss your smiles."-Lee said sadly.He tried to get her to stop bitting her finger,but she pushed his hand away and resumed bitting.Then he sighed and went back to stroking her hair."It is about lunch time.Are you hungry,Luna-chan?"-Lee asked after some minutes.Luna did not reply.Lee sighed again;he gently lifted Luna as he sat up.He took the hand whose finger Luna was bitting in one of his."Onegai,do not do that."-he said.Luna stared at him for a few second,then allowed him to take her hand away from her mouth."Come on;you have to eat,we both do."-Lee said.Then he stood up,pulling Luna with him,and they walked off to get some lunch.

Luna stood up shakily,her left leg gushing blood.She took Hajime's katana out of his hand,from the arm that had fallen in front of her,and held it up towards the enemy.Her grip was shaky from the pain of the wounds on her left arm and her broken right arm."She has spirit,I'll give her that much."-one of them,the woman,said;crackling her spiked,many-tailed whip."Who ******** cares!Let's just ******** kill her and be done with this."-the other one said,clearly annoyed."Oh,you're no fun."-the woman said.Luna looked around rapidly,then her eyes found what she was looking for among the remains of Tetsuyo...

Sole sat on the edge of the bed,running his fingers through his currently sleeping sister's hair.After a while;he stood,pulled the covers over Luna's shoulders,and started walking out of the room.As he reached the door,he heard Luna whimper slightly.He turned around and saw Luna was tossing and turning.Sole quickly walked back to her side;he leaned close to her and wrapped his arms around her."I'm here,Luna-chan.You're home now;you're safe."-he whispered into her ear.Then Sole remembered the lullaby he used to sing to Luna when she was little and had nightmares.He lay back,cradling Luna in his arms,and began to sing it to her:
"Dearest love of mine
I am here to shield you
In my shadow hide
Far away from pain
My heartbeat inside
Will give you serenity
In my arms you'll find
Safety from all fears
Dearest love of mine
I will never leave you
Dearest love of mine
I'll always protect you."
As Sole finished singing,Luna finally relaxed.Sole sighed,then he felt a single teardrop slowly falling down his cheek.He let it fall,closing his eyes.Soon the sound of Luna's peaceful breathing lulled him to sleep.Mitsukai walked by Luna's bedroom and stood at the door.She silently watched Sole sleeping with Luna in his arms.Thought there was a sadness in her eyes,Mitsukai smiled slightly to herself.Then she walked away to her's and Sole's bedroom.

Luna looked towards what was left of her teammate and saw what she was looking for;what they had died for.Then she made up her mind.Luna looked towards her enemy;she breathed deep,forcing herself to ignore the pain raking her body.Suddenly,Luna threw Hajime's katana towards her attackers;then she dashed by her bewildered enemy and towards Tetsuyo's corpse.She half fell to her knees when she reached it,slipping on the blood.She reached down and grasped the scroll they had to return to Konohagakure in her left hand.Suddenly she felt an intense agony coming from her chest...

As Luna awoke;Lee walked into the room,along with breakfast."Ohayo Gosaimasu."-he said,seeing she was awake.Luna sat up and crossed her legs beneath her,allowing Lee room to sit on the bed.She ate her breakfast;then Lee took her outside for a walk.It had been ten days since Luna had returned.She still wasn't talking;but she was responding better to daily life:the panic attacks had ceased,and she wasn't hysterically afraid to be left alone anymore,though she still preferred having Sole,Mitsukai or Lee for company.Also she seemed more alert to her surroundings.The nightmares persisted,however,and it was beginning to look doubtful that they would ever cease.The only thing Sole could do was lull Luna into somewhat serenity.Otherwise all they could do was calm her when she awoke screaming.The searches for the rest of Luna's team had been unsuccessful."I doubt we'll ever find them at all at this point."-Mitsukai said.She,Sole,and the Hokage were meeting in the latter's office;as they had done frecuently since Luna's return."Demo,more importantly;what are we to make of the scroll?"-she continued,"The seal is almost gone.And do we even know what's in it?" The Hokage shook his head."Whatever it is;it can't be any good if it was worth killing a team of gennin for."-Mitsukai added."That's another problem:Whatever is in the seal,it's obviously a danger to someone.If the point had been to get it safely here in the first place..."-Sole started,"This wasn't a job for gennin." "Hai."-the Hokage agreed,nodding."This is troublesome indeed."-he finished gravely.

Blood.All around,all Luna could see was blood.Then the thought creeping into her mind,try as she might to fight it back.'I won't make it back.I won't survive.' The agony was unbearable.It numbed her...

Luna awoke with a gasp.She sat up and looked around her;it was night.She stood and walked to the door.Everything was clear to her.She walked out the door,then went outside.Everything made sence now.She walked in silence along the quiet village.Her motive was clear in her mind,her direction fixed.She walked towards the village gates.
Sole awoke suddenly.He sat up and looked to his side.Mitsukai wasn't there.Just then she burst into the room with a worried look on her face."Nani?"-Sole asked."Luna-chan's gone!"-she said worriedly.
Lee had awoken thinking about Luna and,being unable to resume sleeping,decided to take a walk.He was walking to nowhere in particular,yet somehow he felt guided.He had walked for about five minutes whe he realized where he was heading.Soon after that,he saw Luna walking alone ahead of him."Luna-chan?"-he called to her.She stopped briefly,looked back at him,then looked back ahead and kept walking.Lee followed her,wondering why she was heading to the gates.Once at the gates,Lee noticed no one was there.Luna seemed to take no notice of this,however.She walked up to the gates and opened them far enough to walk through with shocking ease.Without looking back,Luna left the village.Unsure of what to do,Lee glanced back;then he noticed Sole and Mitsukai running towards him.When they reached him,without room for thought,they proceded to follow Luna.

"You'd think she'd have died by now,huh?"-the woman said."Let's see if she'll survive this."-the other enemy said.He yanked back at the chained blades...

They'd been running for what seemed two hours;Luna had suddenly burst into a sprint at some point.None of them knew where Luna was leading them,but all were determined not to lose her.Luna stayed ahead of them,she had gotten much faster,somehow,than even Lee.After another hour,Luna had slipped from their sight for a moment;she was far ahead of them now.
A few more hours had passed and still they ran after Luna.It was almost dawn now.Then,quite suddenly,Luna came to a complete halt.She seemed to have been waiting for them to catch up to her;for,when they reached her,she started walking once again.The area was still,much too still;yet,there was a sort restlessness all about.The air was heavy with a presence they didn't find too reassuring biggrin eath.They followed Luna to a clearing;and that's when they saw it all.
The air was thick with the smell of blood and it didn't take much searching to find the source.Even to those who had known them,it would still be difficult to recognize Hajime and the Kansaki twins:they were all over the place.The enemy hadn't just killed them,they tore them all apart.Luna stood by two corpses unknown to any of them.Sole,Mitsukai,and Lee walked slowly towards her.Then they noticed another form on the ground behind Luna.Their eyes widdened when they made out who it was.Luna slowly raised her left arm,hand reaching for them,fingers outstretched.Her eyes watered dark red;and tears of blood slowly made their way down her cheeks.Suddenly,everything went dark;and they saw it all,as if they had been there.

Tetsuyo walked slightly ahead of them,turning the scroll over in his hands."If we hurry up,we could probably get back home today."-Hideki,who was walking to Luna's left,said."Man,all this trouble for a scroll."-Tetsuyo complained,still turning the scroll over in his hands."Tetsuyo,put that away."-Hajime said;he walked behind them."Hai,sensei."-Tetsuyo said lazily."I wonder what's in the scroll."-Luna mused."Better be important.Making us go all that way..."-Tetsuyo complained further."Moiyoi!All you ever do is complain.Don't you ever get tired of it?I do."-Hideki said,clearly annoyed.Tetsuyo turned around,walking backwards,and stuck out his tongue at his twin."Oh,real mature,Tetsuyo."-Hideki said sarcastically.Luna looked back at Hajime and they both rolled their eyes.The twins continued bickering at each other for some minutes,until eventually Hajime got irritated and made them stop.
They were almost to the edge of the forest when Hajime senced something aproaching.Then everything happened fast.He pulled Hideki and Luna back in time to avoid a hail of shuriken aimed at them.Then he drew his katana."Battle positions!"-he said back to them.They got ready to fight as two people came into view.One was a woman who carried with her a many-tailed,spiked whip with a blade on the tip of each whip-tail;the other a man wearing long sleeves and carrying a three-blades chain whip."This can be over quick;just hand over the scroll."-the woman said,crackling her whip at them."Hideki,cover Luna!"-Hajime yelled.The man smirked,exchanged a look with the woman.Then he turned his attention on Luna,as Hajime had hoped he would.He could cover Luna better as he was closest to her,and it drew the enemy's attention away from Tetsuyo,who actually carried the scroll.The enemy made a dash towards Luna,then Hajime got in the way and met him instead.They started to fight.Meanwhile,Hideki and Luna noticed the other enemy,the woman who had spoken,was nowhere to be found.Then they heard a scream of deep agony,closely followed by the sickening sound of flesh ripping.Luna and Hideki truned around in time to see Tetsuyo,or rather,what was left of him fall apart.The other enemy was behind where he'd been standing,her weapon covered in blood and gore."TETSUYO!!!!"-Hideki screamed.Hajime glanced back and almost froze by the sight that met him.The enemy Hajime was fighting took the opporunity to create a kage bunshin of himself and drew back;leaving it to fight Hajime while he went for Luna and Hideki,who were horrified at what they'd just seen.Luna snapped back and looked around in time to see the enemy sending a hail of shuriken at them that seemd to come from inside one of his long sleeves.Luna reacted by pushingHideki out of the way and drawing a kunai in order to counter the shuriken.As Luna blocked away the incoming hail of shuriken as best as she could,she failed to notice the blade-tipped,spiked whips aimed straight at her.She looked around at the last second."HIDEKI!!!!!"-Luna screamed in horror.Hideki had gotten in the way of the blades.They wrapped around him,cutting deep as they tightened.Then with a twisted smile,the enemy pulled the whip;tearing Hideki apart.Luna was frozen in shock as a torrent of blood bathed her.She didn't seem to notice the other enemy heading straight for her with the chained blades.Hajime,however,did."LUNA!"-he yelled at her,as he was unable to get to her because of the kage bunshin.Luna snapped back an saw the enemy had thrown the blades in her direction.All Luna could do was raise her right arm and move out of the blades' path.The blades wrapped around her arm and the enemy pulled the weapon back with a twisted smirk.Luna screamed as she felt the bones of her arm breaking.The enemy drew her to him and kicked her away.Luna bearly had time to get up and the enemy threw the blades at her again.Luna tried to dodge the chained blades heading for her,but two of the blades impaled her left shoulder and ribcage.She screamed in agony.Hajime,who'd just managed to defeat the kage bunshin,ran his katana through the holes in the chains and pulled the blades out of Luna,who cried out in further agony,and ran at her attacker.Luna wrapped her broken right arm around her left ribcage,whincing.Then she gasped as she felt another blade go clean through her left leg;followed by pain so accute,she hardly felt it at all.The bladed-whips weilding enemy pulled the whip back,causing Luna to trip and fall forward before the blade pulled free of her leg.Luna felt blinded by the pain.She rolled over in time to dodge the whip.Then her attaker turned her attention over to Hajime fighting the other enemy.She ran over,striking her whip at Hajime as she neared them.Hajime was unable to evade the whip as he was trying to avoid the chained blades.Painfully wrapped by the spiked whips,Hajime was met by the chained blades impaling him.Luna's eyes widdened in horror as the enemy pulled their weapons and Hajime met the same fate as Tetsuyo and Hideki.She shook with pain and the shock of having witnessed the people she'd spent almost every day with for the past year being torn to pieces.Luna stood up shakily,her left leg gushing blood.She took Hajime's katana out of his hand,from the arm that had fallen in front of her,and held it up towards the enemy.Her grip was shaky from the pain of the wounds on her left arm and her broken right arm."She has spirit,I'll give her that much."-one of them,the woman,said;crackling her spiked,many-tailed whip."Who ******** cares!Let's just ******** kill her and be done with this."-the other one said,clearly annoyed."Oh,you're no fun."-the woman said.Luna looked around rapidly,then her eyes found what she was looking for among the remains of Tetsuyo.

Blood.All around,all Luna could see was blood.Then the thought creeping into her mind,try as she might to fight it back.'I won't make it back.I won't survive.' The agony was unbearable.It numbed her.Then she heard the enemy speaking."You'd think she'd have died by now,huh?"-the woman said."Let's see if she'll survive this."-the other enemy said.He yanked back at the chained blades,and with numbed agony she bearly felt,Luna felt herself pulled back a distance.The scroll she held onto firmly,even in her numbed,agonized state.The enemy collected his weapon and stared down at Luna.Blood was gushing from her every wound,she was gasping for breath and coughing up blood.The enemy stood looking down at her when they noticed the scroll on her hand.What happened next was much too fast for anyone to react.
The blood around Luna moved to form a strange seal on the ground;then the very shadows lashed up at the enemy,striking them dead instantly.Then Luna stopped coughing up blood;she slowly closed her eyes and let out her last breath.The shadows that had killed the enemy spread to the whole area froming a barrier,meant to keep everything out.

In the darkness,Luna suddenly saw a light.Then she saw a glipse of a memory:She was twelve and she'd just graduated.She stood outside the academy building,and Sole and Mitsukai were in front of her with smiles on their faces."Good work,Luna-chan."-Mitsukai said brightly."From now on,you have to work harder in your training.And you have to try you very best to complete all your missions."-Sole said."I will.I promise."-Luna said. ... Then there was darkness.
Another light,bringing another memory:She and Lee were standing outside a classroom;they had both graduated.They clapped hands and held on."Gambare!"-Luna said brightly."Hai!"-Lee replied equally brightly.Then they walked into the classroom. ... Then darkness once again.
The light came again,this time brighter,and with it another memory:She was standing by the village gates,her team behind her and Lee standing in front of her.She was about to leave on a mission."You had better come back alright;I am looking forward to our next spar."-Lee said."Oh,I'll get back alright.That's a promise."-Luna said.They clapped hands in their usual greeting."Gambare!"-Lee said cheerfuly."Hai!"-Luna replied. ... This time the memory faded but the light remained.Her words from that day rang in head."Oh,I'll get back alright..."-she heard herself say."That's a promise."-she heard herself saying that over and over.Then she heard the sound of a heart beating,it sounded distant.'I promised.'-she thought.The heartbeats got louder.'I have to get back.'-she thought.The heartbeats got louder,and with a gasp,Luna opened her eyes.She drew herself up.She never let go of the scroll.Then she slowly started limping towards her village;blind to the carnage around her and,perhaps most of all,her broken and bleeding body behind her.

The darkness cleared away leaving Sole,Mitsukai,and Lee with the grim knowledge of what had happened.They looked towards Luna;she still stood in front of her body,the blood tears staining her cheeks,her hand reaching for them."I kept my promises."-she whispered.Then she fell back,falling into her body.The seal of blood underneath her dissolved into ravens that flew away.Sole walked towards Luna,kneeled beside her,and picked her up."She was already dead."-Mitsukai half whispered,looking down at where Luna had been lying.They looked at her,and she looked up."She came back for us.To keep her promises to us."-she added.

They had returned with Luna to Konohagakure.The funeral had been held and everyone but Lee,Sole,and Mitsukai had left."The seal on the scroll faded."-Mitsukai said."I think it broke that day.I think Luna-chan's mind made it re-appear.The scroll itself was blank."-she finished."Whatever was in it stayed with Luna-chan.It allowed her to come back;or some of her anyway.It kept the place where she really was hidden,that's why we couldn't find it."-Sole said."Whatever it was;it does not matter.Luna-chan came back.She kept her promises."-Lee said.They nodded,then silence overcame.Minutes later,someone walked up to them."Sole-san,Mitsukai-san;pardon the interruption,demo,the Hokage-sama wishes to see you in his office."-he said."Alright."-Mitsukai said.They turned and left;leaving Lee alone.
It was quiet.Suddenly,Lee gasped as he felt familiar arms hug him from behind."Luna-chan?"-he whispered."I love you."-she whispered,then was gone.A slight smile crept into Lee's lips.
