if you ever find baby bunnies in your yard, DO NOT TOUCH THEM OR I WILL KILL YOU. if they are running around, they are fine. baby bunnies leave home at 4 weeks. if you find them in a nest, they still are probably fine. mom bunnies do not stay with thier young during the day but come back and feed them at night. if you are still concerned, put sticks firmly over the nest without hurting the bunnies. check in 48 hours. if the sticks are moved, the mom is feeding them and the are fine. warning: the sticks are a very improcise method. sometimes the mom can get around them sticks. anyway, if you are still concerned, gently take one bunny out of the nest and check thier skin color. it should be a healthy pink. next, check thier stomachs, they should be round but not bloated. if they are sunken in the bunny is starving. next, gently pinch the skin at the back of the bunnys neck. if the skin stays in a tent like position longer than a second, the bunny if seveerly dehidrated. if you decide to take bunnys in, remember: you will be responsible for them. anyway, take bunny in and put them in a box or a cage and give them soft rags and a heat lamp. they will snuggle together and look like the are choking each other, but they are fine. keep them all together. if the bunnies eyes are closed, they are less then 10 days old. DO NOT FEED THEM COWS MILK OR THEY WILL DIE. instead feed them goats milktwice a day.. have one person hold them and the other person feed them with a syringe. warm the goat milk slightly. they have big teeth so you will have to put the syringe in the side of thier mouth and around their teeth. caution: do not feed them to much milk and do not feed them to little. give them about as much as they will take. DO NOT FEED THEM CARROTS. or any other fruit/veggie. baby bunnies do not have the neccasary bacteria to digest solid food yet. they must eat an adults rabbits turds. the adult turds will contain the bacteria and then the babys can multiply it in their own bodies. mash up the turds and put them in water. then feed the babys this the same way you fed them the milk. make sure they get enough bacteria and enough time to multiply it. then gradually take them off of the milk and onto solid food.dont start doing this until thay are at least 3-4 weeks old. it is better to wait then do this to early. dont feed the bunnies anything besides fruit and veggies after they are fully off the milk. they cant digest bread or meat or eggs or other stuff like that. about telling bunnies a part girl/guy wise: you can usually tell by their behavior. guys are more aggresive and are bigger then girls. if you still cant tell, there is stuff online. but when you are trying to tell them a part, be careful. bunnys backs can break very easily. and if they do break, you just lost your bunny. i know all of this info because of first hand experiance. i had a litter of 7 bunnys. only 2 survived: the strongest one and the weakest one. i watched 5 bunnys die. they became stiff and cold and when you touched them, they would flinch and fall from your hands. when silver was dieing, her last act was to turn her head so she could watch her only healthy brother as she died. i buried those bunnys. i loved those bunnys. i cant explain the horror watching them die or the joy at watching them grow and having 2 survivors. if you want to take in those bunnys you found in your yard. thats your choice. it could be a beautiful experiance. remember that one will die and that that innocent babys blood will be on your hands. but lets stop being depressed and get one with our lives. this is all so dark and gloomy! its not all that bad.
