ORIGINALLY POSTED BY: Just Another Fallen Angel

After being separated from my husband for 4.5 months with 2 months to go, most days I do ok. You learn to just keep chugging along, focusing on things other than your bottomless sorrow and loneliness. Then something happens.

I got an e-mail from my husband today saying they got screwed for lunch and he was freaking out, stressed and upset. It makes you feel so helpless. He has been getting significantly worse for the past month. He is always stressed out these days, obviously very homesick and just completely drained from everything that's been happening.

It's really taking the life out of me as well. We're both completely run down and unhappy. *le sigh*

This is really just a rant so I could get it off my chest. I never envisioned falling in love with a military man. No one in my family is or has been in the military. I'm no good at being separated from him. Everything is hard when you have to do it alone.

Aww. Three of my friends are going into the military, within a few months they will all be gone. icon_sad.gif Sucks for me, cuz I won't get to see them all for a while. icon_sad.gif - MeeSh_Lynn

I thought when you were married, you got to travel with him? - MeeSh_Lynn

Not on a deployment.
If we were assigned a PCS [Permanent Change of Station] I could go, because it's just a change of base. Families are not permitted to go to war zone bases where they are fighting the war. - Just Another Fallen Angel

Oh, I didn't know he was actually over there. Be strong hun. Pray for him, and just think good thoughts k. I'll pray for him too. - MeeSh_Lynn

You have my sympathy. My father is in the military and, though it doesn't effect me so much, my mother has a very difficult time. My brother always get very headstrong when he's gone, too, so there are lots of fights. You'll make it. Stay strong, if not for yourself, for him. - A_Trying_Writer

I can sort of understand what you are going through. My sister, best friend, and several other friends were all in various branches of the military and they all got sent to Iraq. I was always incredibly worried about them too. I wish I had some advice but I don't other than to talk to other people in the same position, it's amazing how much just emotional support helps. Hang in there. Sounds like he should be home soon. You are both in my thoughts. - Awen Dana
