Description:
The Power Plant (Japanese: むじんはつでんしょ Unmanned Power Plant; はつでんしょ Power Plant in Generations II and IV) is a facility located on Route 10 in Kanto that was abandoned years before the Generation I games, though some of the machinery still works. It was refurbished at some time between Generation I and Generation II to provide power for the Magnet Train. It became a home for Electric-type Pokémon when it was abandoned. Surfing from Route 9 is required to reach it.
Many item balls located inside of the Power Plant are actually Voltorb or Electrode, making it somewhat hazardous to look for treasure here.
The Power Plant is the only known roost of the legendary Pokémon, Zapdos. In Generation I and the Generation III remakes, it will be inside the Power Plant and catchable as soon as the player is able to use Surf outside of battle. In Generation II, it is no longer there. In the Generation IV remakes, however, it will appear outside the Power Plant after the all the 16 Badges of Kanto and Johto have been obtained.
