David walked into the Quidditch store with eager eyes as he began looking over every broom as if trying to decide which one he would get. David looked back at Shatei and saw that his best friend was bored and completely uninterested in all the brooms. "Aw c'mon. I know you don't care for flying, but you don't have to hang back. Besides, we'll be going to Hogwarts soon and I want to have a broom," David said as he looked at all the different brooms. He didn't know much about brooms and he sorely wished that he knew someone that did.

A particular dark haired female had been doing one handed cartwheels in the space of Diagon Alley that was not occupied by other folks. It wasn't to show off, nor was it to get more exercise. It was just nice to feel like a kid again. Gracie used to roll down grassy green hills till she felt like throwing up. Her dad had been spinning her in the air like an air plane just minutes before. Those were the memories so entirely precious to her and since she had finally reached her seventh and last year at the place Grace was taught magical skill for the last seven years, she was feeling more and more older every second. It was time to recapture that feeling once more and in order to do that, the moment called for cartwheels. Gracie leaped over a sitting Hogwarts student to be who looked up at her with a wide smile on her face. Grace waved back to the youngster and continued on her way.
Dressed in a dark pair of blue jeans a white blouse, Gracie had taken off her shoes and shoved them in her back pack while she walked. Like everyone knew, she was a free spirit, an open mind and a courageously loving individual. Doing things in stride to the beat in her own head was her way, Hawk understood it, so did all of her close friends. The rest of the world would have to understand as well.
"Hey Gracie! Gryffindor's going to win this year right?" It was April, a sixth year she had befriended just last year when she herself was a sixth year. A really nice girl, really smart too. They sat in class and talked when the time was appropriate for it, usually giggling about something mundane that only they could find funny.
Grace smiled at her and the two embraced. "Of course! We have a great team this year. I am looking forward to new recruits. When are you going to join?" The Gryffindor prefect nudged April by the shoulder with her fist in a joking manner. April shook her head and poked Grace on the nose with her finger and began to walk off.
"I'll join the day that giant metal ball doesn't knock you off your broom for once." April waved goodbye and began walking with her friends. "I'll see you at school!" She called, and was gone out of sight. Gracie laughed, remembering all the times the Bludger had knocked her to the field's flooring. One time it hit her head on and shattered her broom into thirty pieces. That was amazing, especially because she had retrieved the Snitch, only to no real avail for it was only practice. Daddy had replaced her broom time and time again, but she was looking to replace her gloves. They had been with her for almost seven years, and for seventh year she thought she would Captain team with all new equipment just for the sake of doing it.
Gracie entered Quality Quidditch Supplies for the three millionth time, the desk clerk waved and called her by name. She probably spent just as much time in here as she did in the study hall or the library. Her father supported her team and place as captain and threw down the money needed to replace old equipment for her team. No matter what they needed, she was certain to get it. Waving back to the clerk, barren feet walked between the shelves of supplies whilst gray eyes searched for a particular item.
".............and I want to have a broom."
Peeking around the corner, Grace looked at a rather young student, searching through a really sorry excuse for brooms set that were kind of slow but very sturdy, used mostly for more seasoned flyers.
"You probably don't want to be in THAT section kid. Those are not going to be all that fun for a young little thing like you. You might want THESE brooms instead." Grace moved around the shelf and pointed towards a collection of lighter colored brooms in the corner not that far. "Those are a LOT more faster and you don't have to sacrifice steering or quality."

David looked up at the cheerful young woman. His eyes went wide as he replied,"really? Then which broom would you suggest for me?" David was excited that someone would help him out. "Actually, could you help me get all the stuff off this list for Hogwarts?" he asked with a sad look on his face. David had no idea where he was supposed since the teacher that had brought him here left a while ago. Since he no parents, he had to do it all by himself.

Adam practically leapt through the doorway without a second's hesitation. He did a unique little jump with an odd flip twist to dodge a bushel of brooms that were leaning on a shelf. Landing he still had his broom held tightly and he held it up, "Gracie I got one! The new Silver Streaker, the one their using for all the chasers in the professional league. Look at the new tail they have, it allows for ninety degree turns on the fly."
Adam had the broom stuck out for Gracie to take a look at, it was easy to see Adam was practically about to shake apart from excitement. Adam nodded his head to the new kid standing next to the bucket of brooms, "Hope your not a first year if you really want one. First years aren't permitted to have brooms at Hogwarts, it is seriously a dumb rule and they only make exceptions if you are a top notch player and there is an opening on the team."
Adam had joined the team with relative ease, of course he had pushed himself so hard he had spent the next day in the Hospital wing. Adam had only been on the team two years, but he had definitely made an impression. Adam had a particular talent with stealing the quaffle, he took the school record in third year for steals in a single season. Adam was also a particularly good mover, he was hard to catch when he got into a pattern of juking and jiving. Adam wasn't much of a goal scorer though, he left that up to the other two chasers.

"You gotta Jump Jump!" Hikaru walked into the shop, in his human form, because he had left Florrets and Blots earlier in his Animagus form. Lera told him to meet him here, and soon she walked in with his mother as well. Lera was his cousin, and his mother and Lera were full-blooded Valkyries where as Hikaru was only Half-Valkyrie. His Valkyrie heritage resulted in him looking so much like a girl it wasn't funny. He looked like a flat-chested female teenager of the age of 15 years of age. It wasn't something he had a control of, however he was glad that Valkyries looked so much like humans it would be hard to tell that they were Valkyries. Hikaru waved to his mother and cousin, beckoning them to come over. Lera was about 2 years older than Hikaru, although they looked fairly similar.
"So what kind of broom did you want to get Lera?" Hikaru asked, carrying his two bags, the bag of ingredients he had bought earlier and the bag of books he had bought fairly recently about half an hour ago. "Hikaru, you're gonna put your back out if you keep carrying those bags for much longer. Here, put them in here" Anya, Hikaru's mother said, handing Hikaru a normal looking high school backpack, and Hikaru put the bags in there, smiling. Anya was fairly skilled with her race's kind of magic. It didn't take much to create a pocket dimension in objects but for human wizards that was extremely hard, if not impossible. For Valkyries... it took a quite a bit of study but once created it was very handy. Hikaru slung the back over his back, noticing how it didn't seem to have any weight at all.
"I don't know, Hikaru-chan... but then again, I have always wondered what it is like to fly a broom like a mortal wizard" Lera said, smiling. Valkyries were immortal. Not in the sense that they couldn't die. It was just that they couldn't die of natural causes, so they good live forever but could be slain. Hikaru smiled, and then looked around, wondering what kind of broom he was going to get to replace his old one. It had been shattered into pieces during a freak accident when he was hanging out with some friends last year, someone managed to cause a Bludger to fly out of nowhere and strike Hikaru's broom while he and his friends were flying around on their brooms around Hogwarts. Hikaru had his hatred of the Slytherin house. He was a Ravenclaw, but Hikaru's reasons for it were the constant harassment and the large number of injuries the Slytherin house always liked to inflict on him.
Hikaru gave a 'oooh' of surprise and awe as he looked at a fairly interesting kind of broom. "An Flare Borealis... and it is the newest model. High Speeds. Instant Acceleration. Instant Deceleration as well. Although it has quick turning power, but really I don't see the point of instant turning of any angle above 45 degrees" Hikaru said in awe as he looked at it. The broom had a bright snow white wooden finish, and the bristles of the tail were jet black in colour. It definitely looked like a balance between light and dark, black and white, etc. Although these kinds of brooms weren't particularly well known.
Lera looked at the broom as well, also in awe. Hikaru's mother smiled as she watched the two look at the broom with awe. "That is what the base is for"

"Pfft." Gracie blew air from between her slightly parted lips in the, "whatever," manner and raised her hand up to him. That list was as burned into her memory as her own name. Hogwarts had been her life for going on seven years, what kind of witch would she be if she could not at least remember what it was required in order to be on the team. Which reminded her, what team was he on? "I know that list like the back of my hand." He looked a little young to be flying, but then again, they were making them young looking more and more these days. Even Gracie herself did not appear to be an adult at the ripe age of seventeen, or so her friends had told her. It wasn't so much a bad thing as it was an annoyance. Gracie wanted to be treated like the age she was, not the one she appeared. However, that would all clean itself out eventually.
"If you have never had this stuff before, that means most of it is going to be provided by your team. By the way, what is your team? You aren't a new recruit for Slytherin are you? Cause by default I cannot help you." Gracie nudged the kid in a joking manner, she didn't really dislike the Slytherin team just because she was a Gryffindor. In fact, she did not dislike them at all. They posed a great challenge just as the rest of them had which had forced Gracie to build a strong respect for them. Slytherin was not prone to following the rules, but they were also not prone to WINNING the games they decided to cheat during. Gracie had to hand it to them, despite how many times that method didn't work for them, they continued to use it. Maybe the liked losing. Gracie shrugged. Who knew with that house?
The ebony haired female was about to make a suggestion on the perfectly balanced broom before she heard a very familiar voice from behind come bursting into the room. She turned to find Adam as giddy as a school girl holding a particular model of broom she herself had wanted a time or two ago. Adam was a fourth year who had joined the team during his second year. He was a good flyer, she will give him that, a chaser at heart, he had that daredevil kind of personality that wasn't unlike her own. "Hey Adam!" Gracie replied eyes widening at the broom in front of her. Her hand lightly brushed the handle and smiled at her teammate. "That's a great broom you got there boss. Maybe with this you can prove you ACTUALLY know how to fly!" Again with the jokes, but Gracie was a fun kind of person, Adam would either laugh or send one right back at her. She really appreciated when others could stand toe to toe with her, she didn't like being the only funny person.
"You are a first year? I didn't know that. How did you get this list? You really CAN'T have a broom if you are. It's a bloody stupid rule, Adam is right. But you should see some of the first years do spells. If they fly as bad as they cast their charms, there might be a good reason they aren't suppose to fly. It's bad enough they give themselves boils or vomit spiders and stuff." Gracie looked back at Adam and snickered. He knew what she was talking about, without a doubt. Even as a fourth year, you still remember your own mishaps. Not everyone comes to Hogwarts using magic PERFECTLY, cause then that would be no fun.

David barely heard the sound, but his eyes went wide as he shouted,"DUCK." He shoved the girl out of the way of a bludger that nearly hit her. He barely dodged it himself. Not ever seeing such a thing before David just ducked. Grabbing a broom, he waited for it to come back. It came back really fast, but it seemed like time slowed down for David as he swung the broom's handle and hit the bludger through a window. Sending it fifty meters out and twenty meters high.

"You gotta Jump Jump!" Hikaru tried to ignore the commotion caused by David. "Tch... First Years causing trouble, when does the immaturity ever end..." Lera said, with a bit of annoyance and then Hikaru looked at Lera and laughed. "You know... I was thinking the exact same thing, word for word..." Hikaru said, smiling. 'Hikaru... be careful...' Nyhm's voice echoed in Hikaru's mind. Nyhm. The Faerie Spirit that Hikaru's father Rei had bound to Hikaru's mind, body and soul in order to keep him alive after a brutal attack by a Dark Wizard. Although Nyhm was a Faerie Spirit of Darkness, he was protective of Hikaru, and helped Hikaru at times by giving him the mental strength to do things in desperate situations.
Although, Hikaru wondered if Nyhm would be able to provide Hikaru with a defense against Legimency. It was likely, Nyhm was a entity that was a part of Hikaru's existence, so it would be likely he could retaliate against those trying to manipulate Hikaru's mind. Hikaru didn't want to test out the theory. But in any case. Hikaru looked over to David and shouted "You do realize you are going to have to pay for the broken window, you know. And for the broom you likely damaged". Hikaru and his family were on once side of the store and David and the others were on another side, and there was a bit of distance between the two so that explains the reason for shouting. "That is what the base is for"

David heard the man's comment and it annoyed him. Could he help it if a stray bludger nearly took off some heads? All he had done was make sure no one got hurt. David chose to IGNORE the inconsiderate jerks that were talking about him behind his back. However, after being shouted at it raised his temper high enough he responded,"Look, I did not do all this on purpose. That weird ball came out of nowhere, but you know what? Since I am a nice guy, I'll pay for the damages. Oh, btw it is SO nice of you to talk about me behind my back." David had want it to make painfully clear that he thought nothing well of gossipers.

"You gotta Jump Jump!" "Now, let us get one thing straight. I was not the one talking about you behind your back, that was my cousin Lera. Second thing you should know, is that it is unlikely that a Bludger would come out of nowhere and attack someone in a Quidditch Supplies shop, considering they have to be kept in special chests to keep them from flying around. And human reflexes aren't that fast or the human senses that skilled to suddenly hear one coming, especially a First Year." Hikaru said, walking over to David, with Lera in tow. "Personally, I think it is illogical to use a broom to do a Home Run with a Bludger considering they can easily shatter the broom. You were just lucky it didn't shatter the broom and impale you with wooden shards" Lera said, sighing. Hikaru turned around and muttered "Honestly, Slytherins are bad enough trouble, but this much stress before the school year even begins...", noticing a broom repair kit on a shelf near him. Hikaru grabbed it and walked back over to his mother and with Lera following him.
"You're lucky Lera, makes me envious you not having to go to Hogwarts at all" Hikaru said, talking to Lera, who smiled and said "Like I would be able to put up with all the stress and the competitions between the houses. Uncle Rei is a really good teacher, so... I heard your an Animagus now, Hikaru-kun.". "Lera... I've been an Animagus for a while now. Then again, you've been in Japan for most of two years" Hikaru said sighing, going up to the counter to purchase two of the Flare Borealis brooms and the Broom Repair Kit. "You sure you have enough money, Hikaru?" Lera asked, getting out her wallet. "I am sure, I do get paid fairly well for my part time work. Father taught me to be self-reliant, and that includes income as well, so I normally have quite a bit of money just before the school year starts" Hikaru said, paying for the broom calmly.
Hikaru walked back to his mother with Lera next to him. "So, why did you get those ingredients anyway?" Lera asked, curious about the bag of ingredients he had carried into the shop. "I plan to make some extremely potent potions, most of it involves Blood Magic. A Potion of Dragon's Resillence would help alot considering the amount of harrassment I get from Slytherins. I am sick and tired of being slashed up so many times, and it doesn't help that I am anaemic." Hikaru said, handing Lera one of the brooms he had bought.
"Enough you two... let's go look for Rei, okay?" Anya said, grabbing the two by the shoulder and ushering them out, Hikaru carrying his bag, broom and broom repair kit and Lera carrying her broom. "Yes, Auntie Anya/Yes, Mother" Lera and Hikaru said, respectively. "That is what the base is for"

The man didn't know a thing about David so how would he know whether or not he'd have the senses and reflexes to dodge anything? He didn't care, but he would reply,"The only thing I have to say to that is since you don't know anything about me or where I've come from I'd say you got nothing. And since I'd rather not waste my time on people who like to assume that they are better than everyone I'll be going after I apologize to this kind lady."
David turned the young woman and a sorrowful look slid onto his face. He quickly bowed with his face towards the ground as he said,"I am so sorry miss for pushing you. It may have been to prevent you harm, but it was still wrong. I will be going now since you'll probably not want to help me." With that David exited the store with Shatei following right on his feet.
