a n d y o u r e y e s f o r w a r d . . . spaceThe screeching of the various owls filled Anna's ears as she opened the door to the shop. She smiled at the lady at the counter as she was greeted and headed towards the food. The familiar smells of owls, food, and droppings came to her as she walked the aisles in search of what she needed for Kinnal.
spaceThe owls within the cages hooted and flapped as she walked by. Anna stopped in front of one green cage where a baby Barn slept. Its eyes were closed and it snuggled down its head into its body so that it looked like a ball of feathers. She giggled at the thought of a ball of feathers flying through the air like in a game of quidditch. Surprisingly the sound of her laughter caused the baby to awaken with a start regardless of the other sounds around them. It jumped and flapped its wings in its shock causing it to loose one. It blinked and looked around with its head and then stared at the girl in front of it. Anna laughed and moved on from the cage, such a cute bird.
spaceAnna moved towards the back of the store where the food was normally kept. She pushed through a small group of obvious first years who were shopping together and staring at an old Tawny that was staring back at them. She reached the bags of food that were piled high upon the shelves on top of each other. She spied the one she wanted, luckily, close to the bottom of the stacks. She bent down to pick up a small bag since all she needed was to feed Kinnal for the rest of the summer break that was almost over. She could always come and get some more later.
spaceShe made her way to the counter holding the bag of food infront of her. She waited for the counter to be clear of all owl feathers and droppings from the last customer before placing the bag on the counter. The man behind it punched in some numbers and then told her, "Three Galleons and fifteen Sickles please." Anna pulled out her purse and looked around a bit before pulling out enough coins to pay for the food. The guy nodded and then handed her the bird feed. Anna smiled and thanked him and then walked out. . . . I t ' s t h e o n l y w a y t o s e e
