I'm already compiling my notes.
I'm going to be super-prepared this year.
Marching band novels by band geeks for band geeks ftw.

I click on the link and the site comes up in "Netherlands" language. If I change it, German, French and Spanish change correctly, but "English" only appears slightly different than "Netherlands" by one or two words. Problem is, I speak "English"! Argh.... I guess I could try and translate from German or Spanish, but I'm not fluent in either and I don't have time to cut and paste. Oh well, I'll still write come November. I guess I can use the notes I've been working on for the last year rolleyes . Did I mention that I'm a chronic procrastinator?

boyamiconfuzed Show off, I have no idea what I'm doing, I'll figure it out on Halloween, that's what I did last year. Haha, I usually get some kind of idea long before NaNo actually starts... the problem is that I typically get burned out on it too quickly.
Hopefully that won't happen this year. :[

I'm giving it another try, if I have an motivational piece.
The intention I have is just three unlikely girls from different social groups (I choose girls, because their social foodchain seems a whole lot wider from us guys, other then your typical geek and Mr.coolio) stumble upon three miraculous items that give them unique power, which can be accessed from anyone and decide to become super heroines of somesort. Yeah I know very typical, but I'm going to try and focus on how they form and bound and character development. The antagonist that it focuses on is sort of demented person with some psychological issues that gets one and of course intends to use it for his own nefarious reasons, but like the girls he has a secret identity, which concidentially is from the same school from them. In the end it reveals an even bigger villain in the end and if I succed I'll leave it for a sequel.
So what are your other ideas like if you don't mind me asking?

Ok so I sorta lied when I said I had no idea what I was writing, I have two very general ideas. I'm either writting a sequel to the story I wrote last year (I actually finished the story, but I was 9000 words short and didn't have time to add things), or I'm going to take some minor characters from one of my other stories and write their origin story. I don't have an actual plot for either story though, so I'm still undecided.

I'd like to go back and do a sequel to the one I did last year... my one last year just like... didn't have a plot. I never made a distinction as to where I was going to cut it off, so I just kept rolling with it. I want to go back and edit it and give it a more defined story line.
Now I've decided where I want to cut it off, so I might do a sequel some day... (JaNoWriMo, anyone?)
But this year mine is going to be semi-autobiographical. I can't decide if I want to use my literal friends or if I want to just do characters based off them. One thing I know is that the main romantic interest will have to be completely made up, or at least have a few key details fudged around with. >>;
If I get burned out on that idea before November, though, or decide that OH MY GOD I HAVE TO START WRITING NOW, I do have a back-up. Two words: time travel.
(In a nutshell: the bad guy gets a time machine -- which are readily available to the general public for a rather high price in the year 2753, assuming the Mayans miscalculated the apocalypse -- and decides to go change history to make himself ruler of basically everything. His plan screws up other people's lives, they get pissed, and then they go on an epic quest to stop him and fix everything he screwed up. The details are still fuzzy.)
Actually. I'm going to go ahead and do the time-traveling one for NaNo. I need to write this band thing out as the plot unfolds.
Now I need to hammer out the details of it.... Oi.

Sigh... I think I've figured out what I'm going to do. I was thinking about it, and a main character from yet another story popped in and said "What about my autobiography?"
"What autobiography?"
"The one I've just decided to write."
"Well if it's an autobiography you have to write it."
"Yes but I'm a fictional character and exist solely in your own head, so anything I write, you ultimately have to write."
"... Oh shut up."
I hate it when I'm out-smarted by my own characters. *starts outlining autobiography*

I signed up and tried last year. The problem is I never really came up with a good idea. Besides in November I'm thinking about finals.
