You're A Cat?!

People assume that animals are stupid, or not as clever as humans at least, and don't understand a word we say. Well, that's just a bit wrong.

There's this one boy. He once found a small kitten on his way home from school, all alone and mewing in an alley, shivering and hungry with a collar around his neck. He had been abandoned. Feeling sorry for the small creature, the boy gave it food and water . The little kitten instantly loved him, presumably as a father. Not quite. The feline had the intelligence and emotions of a human, and had fallen ears over paws for the human. Not that he ever thought it could work out...

Until he met the Witch

Quite what an accomplished Witch was doing in that alley one rainy day was anyone's guess; maybe a twist of fate, maybe a mere coincidence. But I digress. The Witch and kitten discussed the little one's plight, and the woman decided to humour the feline's romantic tendancy, striking a small deal.
She would turn the kitten into a human, but he would shrink back into a cat after three days, unless he gained the love of this human male.
Obviously, the animal accepted, immeasurably pleased that he could try to woo his love.

So, will the unlikely pair fall in love?
Or will the kitten be sadly dissapointed and return to being a four-legged feline?

It's up to you, the enchanting human boy

Malik looked around warily, silver eyes shining with unshed tears, body trembling slightly. A loud peal of thunder rang out overhead. Flinching, the newly human blonde curled his legs to his side and bowed his head. His old black collar was still round his neck, golden bell glinting. He was dressed in a pair of light blue jeans that the witch had given him, along with a black t-shirt. Both of them were loose; verging on being too big. His hair was a similar shade to his once golden fur. The teenage boy was barefoot, a small cut on his left from trying to stand up in the alley, also resulting in a scraped knee. His balance was very off. The boy quailed at a flash of lightening, shrinking further into himself as it started to rain softly, staining his clothes with dark patches. Malik hadn't counted on there being a thunderstorm. It turned out he felt just as scared as when he was a kitten.

School, as usual, had been boring. Really, it wouldn't have been that bad, were it not for imaginary numbers. Couldn't they just stick to real ones? The logic was just not there. Ah well, school was over and did not matter now. What did matter, was the current tunderstorm. He was lucky and had seen the report of it on the morning news so he'd grabbed an umberella before he left the house. It had seemed that several of his classmates were not so fortunate. Ah well. Not his fault. They'd get home perfectly fine. So would he really. Home to his lonely little apartment since his parents were away at a convention for a week. Well, not completely lonely. There was his cat, Malik. How long had he had him for now? It seemed like forever ago that he had picked the poor thing up.

Picking things up...he did that a lot. His parents scolded him for that pretty often. His entire room was filled with useless things that he had seen abandoned on the streets, took pity on, and taken home. Right now, for instance, he had a little cell-phone charm in the hand not holding the umberella. It'd been lieing on the curb, unable to fit in the gutter, and he, like usual, picked it up and decided to take it home with him. Now he had another one to add to his growing collection. At least this was the first one with a rainbow strap. He had enough pink ones already.

About a block away from his apartment, he heard the sound of a bell. A very familiar bell. It was like the one his mom had made him tie around Malik's neck so that he couldn't sneak up on her anymore. He listened again for it and noted that it came from down the alleyway. A boom of thunder hit the sky. Crap! Malik always freaked out when there was thunder. Had he not returned home when it started? That would have been what he normally did. What if he was too scared though? Immediatly he entered the alley, trying to spot his kitten.

Instead, he saw a boy. A boy who, by the looks of it, had been abandoned.

His mom was not going to like this.

"Hey kid. You okay?"

Wet. Very wet... Malik hated being wet. He was curled up with his knees up, holding them against his chest, head bowed. Gray eyes were glancing around fearfully. "Jason..." he mewed quietly, wishing he could curl up on the boy's lap and feel his soft hand on his back, what he normally did when there was a thunderstorm. He was famously scared of them. Making a whimpering noise, the blonde shook his head. His bell rang out. Another omnious rumble make him flinch violently and hide his head on his knees, trembling. That was when a much more soothing sound cut through the clashes...

At first he made a forlorn whining sound, as close as he could get to a meow in his current form. Malik had wanted his first human meeting with his love to be a friendly moment, or something similar, not worse than when he was a stray feline. He lifted his soaked head and peered at the brunette with solemn silvery eyes. It took him a moment to find his tongue, mouth opening and closing for a moment. "Y-yeah" he stuttered through his shaking jaw. Of course, Malik utterly destroyed any sincerity in his comment with his reaction to the thunder. He made a small wailing noise and curled up again, hands flying to rest on his head. He shook with violent tremors from both the cold and his fear.

Eyes were rolled at the stuttered reply and yelp that followed after it. The kid was obviously not okay. Not that he really ought to be calling him a kid, he noticed as he moved in closer. Really, they didn't seem to be that much different in age. There was probably only a year or two of difference between them. How had he ended up in this situation? Was his family homeless, or...what? It really was a mystery. Sighing tiredly, Jason realized that he couldn't very well leave the poor boy here. Not in good conscience. Jeeze.

Jason held his umberella over this mystery kid. Sure it was a little late to keep him dry, but it was a pretty nice gesture he felt. Besides, he didn't really care if he got wet or not. His house, with the nice dry towels and nice warm showers, was just around the block. Did this kid even have a home? It didn't look like it from the way he was just sitting on the floor, without shoes, in the rain, shivering to himself. He squatted down to get on eye level with him, still keep the umberella overhead.

"I'm Jason. You wanna come to my house for a bit and dry up? It's just around the corner." Thankfully, he wasn't some creepy old man. Then the kid would definitely want to stay in the alley rather than risk going home with him. He was the kid's age though, so hopefully he seemed trustworthy enough.
