Gzzzztt…. Testing… Testing… Greetings all. This is DJ Survivor here once again. It would appear that this will most likely be our last transmission. For those of you still listening to the radio for other survivors then you’re in for a treat today. A full recap of these past 10 years or so will be given by yours truly. Ten years ago a strange disease began to mysteriously kill off those who came in contact with it. The disease originated from Russia it appears but there is a lot of talk, and some compelling evidence that it was man made, a joint project between America and Russia. For whatever reason though it broke out and went out of control. At first, the rumors circulated that those infected rose from the dead to try to infect others. Of course we all laughed at this, until our loved ones were chowing down on our necks that is. Within a very short time, the influx of people from Russia and other parts of Asia increased drastically as they tried to escape it, meaning it was inevitably brought here as well. And with American skepticism at an all time high as always, it spread out of control before anyone was willing to acknowledge we had zombies on our hands. Now, here we are about ten years later. The world is in ruin and there is no way of telling how many humans may still be alive. For the past 5 years, I DJ Survivor has been here, airing every day with as many updates as possible as well as daily comforting, both for you and myself. I hope I may have been of some help to you all. However, I believe it is my obligation to inform you all that there are new rumors about. Yes, they may be rumor, but look at what happened when we ignored those about the zombies. Apparently there have been several eye witness reports of larger, stronger and even more intelligent zombie like creatures on the move. They seem to be able to command the others with ease and are able to move as if they were a fully living human, possibly even better than one. I for one pray that each and every one of you never have to encounter these beings for they may very well spell certain death. And if you do, I also prey you have the speed to get away, or the tenacity to take the ******** out. Now however, I must be taking my leave. I will not be able to broadcast again after this. It would appear the building has been surrounded and we will soon be over run. We plan to fight to the very end and take down as many as possible. I pray that you all do the same, never stop fighting to survive, never give up the one thing left to you, your life… God may have damned us my brothers and sisters… But may our will to live save us all…. Gzzzzztt…..

A man sits alone in an abandoned furniture store. Hardend, numb, uncaring take your pick. All the same he feels nothing at this moment. Perhaps he feels too much pain to feel anything at all. Maybe he can no longer stand trying to survive in this nightmare the world has become. Is it just that this is the only reprieve from the madness that waits just outside ready to hunt him? Location and time didn't matter anymore, not to him. The fight to live was all that mattered these days.
Chris thinks long and hard about what to do next. He feels the leather of the recliner with his finger tips. Ten years ago this was a luxery he took for granted. Not just the chair, but comfort itself and what it meant to have peace of mind. For the first time in what seemed like forever he remembers what its like to relax. He looked around him, the light of day shining through the dirty and broken windows, illuminating the ruined state of the department store. The floor was covered with various rocks, discarded and broken objects, and furniture. It was also heavily stained with blood both new and old. Realizing the dismay around him usually distrcated him from caring about his own, rather shabby, appearence. Who was he to judge this stained floor when the white tank top he wore was heavily stained. Though its not as if apperences really mattered these days. Chis leaned forward in his seat, resting his arms on his legs. As he rubbed the smoothness of his recently shaven head, he played back in his mind the horrors that ocurred no more than an hour ago. The band of survivers he had spent every waking moment with for the past three years, were now dead.
This attack was different though. Playing it through in his head, they seemed........organized. Then it hit him. The one that was larger that all the rest. That one seemed to directed the others. He also remembered that it moved faster than the others. Though it was anywhere near fast enough to keep up with Chris as he sped away in his car. Whatever it was, it smart, it was evolving, and a very serious threat to him should he run across it again.
The sound of a window breaking caught his attention. "s**t!" he shouted, as a small group of infected came through the windows of the building. Chris scambled to his feet, grabbing his black duffle bag and assualt rife. After securing his belongings, Chris grabbed a 9mm bretta from one of the makeshift holsters attached to his belt and opened fire. He aimed only for their heads and fired with near perfect accuracy. Their deaths brought him no measure of peace as he knew the sound of his weapon would attract others. Once outside, he ran as fast as his legs could carry him toward his rusty blue sedan.

In the shadowey alley ways of this forgotten city, a young woman with hair a tad longer than a buzzcut trots. She halts at a corner, peeking around to make sure there were none of the infected. Panting, she crosses a dangerous opening between buildings which could expose her. When she reached the other side, she glances around. The woman jumps, startled as a black kitten emerges noisily from the dumpster behind her. "Dammit, you scared me kitty..." Crystal chuckles and she goes to reach for the cat, but it hisses and scurries away. It must have never encountered a healthy human being before. "Always running, just like the rest of us." She was seemingly safe for now. Then gun shots went off. Some body is here! Another survivor! Before she got too excited Cystal reminds herself why she does not search for others anymore.
In the passed ten years Crystal Turner went through five survival groups. All were broken down, subdued, and devoured by the infected. Except her. Twas a year ago Crystal left her last survival group. She left before she could watch them be destroyed. Those people were weak anyways, far from ever becoming a team.
The problem she faces now is to whether or not to find whoever is shooting that gun. With time running out Crystal begins to head toward the direction the gunfire, whipping out a colt45 she found not too long ago. Running with a limp in her step into the light, she finds herself almost enjoying the feel of the sun dancing on her tanned, dirt stained skin. The sounds of shots and groans of the zombies echoe from a department store.Just ten yards away from the building,a couple heard her coming and ran after her. She stops running and turns to face them, shooting one in the head. The liquified brains spews from the back of it's flimzy skull. Crystal drops to the ground to kick the other infected off it's feet which was closer to her. Before it could flip off its belly she slices her machette through the back of its head until it no longer moved. Rotting, brown blood drips from the blade as more infected from the department store run to her, distracting them from their prey within.

As Chris rushed outside he found that his shots had indeed brought more infected. They also attracted the attention of a young woman. She obviously was not infected as she was still intelligent enough to use a weapon. More importantly, she was fighting them. His first instinct was to leave her to her fate. But then, if she could fight, maybe she could help him to survive.
He made his choice and spirnted toward his car. After a quick fumble with the keys he pulled from his pocket, Chris started the engine and hit the gas. At first glance one would think decided to leave her for dead, but instead he spun the car around and sped toward the infected. Some went under the vehicle, others went over it, all collided with a sickening thud. Moving the passenger side of the car next to the young woman, Chris reached across his car, opened the passenger side door and shouted "Get in!"

Hector sits in the corner of a barricaded room with his pistol and shotgun laying in front of him on a table. He checks to make sure his weapons are in good condition and then begins counting his remaining ammo. The grand total is 4 clips, one already loaded in the 9mm, and 30 shells left for the shotgun, 6 of which are also already loaded into the shotgun. Looking across the room he sees the only survivors of the city, 3 of his fellow officers silently checking weapons, counting ammo, or preparing provisions for the road.
It has been 3 years sense the city fell to to the undead and Hector and his remaining officers are preparing to leave the city. After countless excursions for food and battles for survival, the group is worn out and needs to evacuate. The group took time to fortify and load up and armored S.W.A.T. vehicle and plan to leave. Among the items that are being brought along are, food rations, survival supplies, batteries, gasoline, and a short range radio.
The group prepares to leave at midnight and make their way westward to Chicago.

The SWAT van is loaded and ready to go, the only problem is that the zombies have finally breached the police stations defenses and now endlessly prowl the halls in search of a meal. Hector holsters his 9mm and 12 gauge and prepares to move. The group has decided to take a rather lengthy, but hopefully unoccupied route through the basement to reach the garage. They vote on using the slow and silent advance over the "kick the door and spearhead the garage" plan.
Silently opening the door they check the hallway. After confirming that it is empty, the group moves silently towards the back of the station. The hungry moans of the damned can be heard echoing throughout the station. Coming to the last hallway they see it is occupied by two of the rotting dead. Hector takes his crowbar and walks silently behind one and cracks it on the back of the head, collapsing the back half of it's skull. With a silent moan it drops to the ground. Upon hearing the collapse, the other zombie turns and slowly shambles towards the group. Hector puts the crowbar to it's head to keep it at arms length, and then swings in a baseball fashion to finish the zombie off.
The way to the basement is now clear.

Hector and his fellow officers follow the staircase down into the basement of the police station. They weren't far now, only a few turns down the hallway and through kennel and they would be there. As the moved silently Hector began wondering about the kennel dogs, there had been reports of infected dogs running around in packs taking out hikers. He thought it would be best to proceed with extreme caution through the kennel and make it straight for the van.
As they approached the kennel doors he silently ordered them to stop. Turning to face the group he began to explain his plan.
"Ok, we all have heardf the reports of infected dog attacks on those hikers years back. I don't know if the K9 unit is even in here but we're not taking any chances. I'll open the door and take point with my shotgun, Jason you'll sweep left and Bill you'll go right. Rebecca will follow behind me and watch our six. Move slowly and carefully, shoot anything that moves, and only advance when we all sound the all clear." After a pause he added "Any questions?" He was given a silent nodding of heads that signified the groups unwilling readiness. He unholstered his shotgun and step up to the door as Jason and Bill drew their 9mm and stood next to the door. "On three i kick the door and we move in. Ready? Ok here we go, 3...2...1..." Hector kicks the door with force sending it flying open and the three sweep into kennel.
The kennel was empty. The long room was seperated into three long aisle by two rows of cages. After a tense few minutes that felt like hours, the all clear was sounded and the group eased up slightly. Hector re holstered his 12 gauge and began walking down the middle aisle with Rebecca right behind him. At the end of the aisl the came upon the door marked garage, they had made it.

The thunder clapped loudly overhead as the large group of zombies wandered aimlessly through the small field. Kaige couldn't have asked for more perfect weather conditions. With the constant drum of the rain and the occasional claps of thunder they wouldn't be able to hear him moving by. The downpour also helped to dampen his scent as well as further limit there decreased vision from the fact that he moved only at night. He made one last sweep with his eyes, then, still in a crouched positions, ran as fast as he could through the tall grass, weaving through the undead horde surrounding him. He held his shotgun by the barrel in his left hand, a machete waiting in his right hand in case he was spotted. Suddenly lightning lit the sky sooner than he'd anticipated. It struck close by and in that brief moment of blindness he smacked into a zombie from behind. Thankfully the following thunder drowned out the sound of it's moan and with a snap of his arm the thing fell to the ground, its head nearly cleaved in two. Thanking whatever was out there that none others had been drawn in he began making his way across the field again. Within a few moments he was across it and making his way through the thin forest. As he neared the edge he came to the top of a small ravine. On the other side, sillouted against the occasional strikes of lightning he could see the outline of the cities skyline. Here he would be able to restock his dwindling supply of food hopefully.

The garage was mostly empty. The only remaining vehicles were the old junkers, impounded cars, and the swat van. The garage smelled strongly of decay, hundreds of corpses lay randomly on the floor in pools of blood and viscous goo. Hector made a looked around for any signs of the K9 division dogs then proceeded to the van with his team.
Hector looks at his team and begins issuing orders, "Jason grab as many fuel cans as you can, we'll need them. Bill, I want you to go over to the shed and roll over four replacement tires, get a jack and some jumper cables from one of the impounded cars too. Rebecca, start the car and be ready to go, donot leave the car at all. I'll be patrolling around after i get the gate open, everyone watch for dogs." Hector unholsters his shotgun and walks towards the gate as Jason and Bill run for supplies.
The van was stocked with enough food and water to last them three days, and the remaining ammo from the armory. They hadn't had the time to load tires or parts due to the persistence of the undead trying to break their fortifications. Hector reflected back on the K9 unit. He remembered passing them in their cages, barking over and over, wanting to be let out. Hector knew it was cruel to lock them in there until the starved, but he also knew it would be a matter of time before they would have become infected if he had released them. He was still puzzled on how they became infected though. They garage gate was shut and the doors to the kenenl were shut too. His answer came to him in the form of a soft scratching sound.
Over at the wall of the garage , in a corner all to itself was a manhole. Crawling out of the manhole were rats, large rats with glowing red eyes, and a nasty temperment. Three of the rats came after Hector and jumped for his boots. hector jumped back and then countered by stepping on the rodents.
"Be careful for the rats, they're infected! I think they're what infected the dogs. Rebecca check the food in the van, make sure its still good." He walked back over to the van as Rebecca disappeared into the back to search the food. Bill was finishing up with the tires and Jason was on his third run when Hector called them in.
"Ok, we have the tires, and enough fuel for two refills, that should last us till we hit the next city. We can always siphon more fuel from cars along the way." He turned and yelled into the van "How does the food look 'Becca?" Rebecca hollered from the back "Foods still good, the cases kept the rats out, theres alot of bite marks though" after a pause she added "ammo's good too." Hector addressed everyone and said "Alright we're ready to leave, Bill, you drive, 'Becca gets shotgun. Jason will help me get the gate.
Hector and Jason walked over to the manual control cranks and began opening the doors as Bill climbed in and Rebecca reappeared in the passenger seat. After a couple of minutes the gate was open and Hector and Jason started walking back when Bill started laying on the horn and Rebecca shouted something towards them, both with a look of horror on their faces.

"From Vung Tau, riding Chinooks, to the dust at Nui Dat I'd been in and out of choppers now for months. But we made our tents a home, VB and pin mhhm... hmhm...... hmmm.." Seon's voice started to muffle while pouring baked beans down his mouth, driving one handed arcoss a desert-like road with more cracks and potholes than you could count. He was driving to the next town on his map, with the only reason was to keep moving, to stay in one place was death. "Bloody hell I love Redgum". "But you can't like it as much as Linkin park can you?" he replied to himself. "Well its all about what you would feel like at the moment, right now I feel like some classic Redgum music so refgum is better right now" "And can you tell me, doctor, why I still can't get to sleep? And nighttime's just a jungle dark and a barking M16? And what's this rash that.... Oi, whats that?" he yelled out over the music while decelerating his ute. He was refering to the large armoured van at the base of the hill he had just reached over. "Now that looks like it has something worth having" "That it does, oh wait hold up... ... ... ... oh damn it, theres someone getting into it" "So?" "So that means I cant get whatever's worth getting now can I?" "You could always kill her, its not like you would get shot back at or anything" "You dont know that, there could be more there, just because you cant see them dosn't mean they arn't there. Besides, you know I feel bad if I would do somethign like that." "Well if you say so...." He watched for a few more moments, looking at how the person moved. Being a few years since the last person he saw he was curious at what she was doind and how she was doing it. Soon after he finnished the tin of baked beans, he saw another 3 people exiting the nearby building, all holding guns. "See! didnt I tell you that killing her wouldn't have done any good? I would just have been attacked by those 3 big blokes!" "Well I guess.... hey, what are they looking at?" "What do you mean?" "They're all looking at something behind that building there, they look scared" "Really? I dont see anything" "Just because you cant see it dosn't mean its not there" "Ok ok, get your point, I guess that it wouldn't hurt taking a look. They might have some stuff they dont want too" Seon started to drive down the hill to the people with guns, singing along with his still playing music. "God help me, I was only nineteen"

Everything that happened next was just a flashes of images to Hector. He and Jason turning, zombie dogs lined up outside feasting on corpses turning to face them... charging, Hector and Jason haul a** to the car, Jason goes down, the dogs rip him to shreds, the dogs leaping toward him are smashed by a large van, Rebecca pulling him inside, and the squealing of tires as the van speeds away from the station and and from Jason, who was a bleeding mound of hot flesh by the time they hit the first intersection.

Rupert looked up at the sky, it was dark and it looked like a storm was on it's way. He decided that he'd open the roof to the greenhouse and let the rain water his plants. He goes down to the chicken coupe and rabbit pens. He quickly shovels out the fecal matter and uneaten food laying on the floor and fills the bins with feed before closing the door to the pens. He takes all the debris and throws it into the compost heap before heading inside.
Rupert's house was well fortified. He had blocked the windows from the front with cars and trucks, boarded up the windows, and piled materials against the doors and windows from the inside. There was only one way in and out of his house and that was a rope ladder that went from the roof to the top of a van, from there one would car hop to get to the ground. Rupert almost never left his home though, he didn't need to. His entire home was self sufficient, he only left to get supplies for experiments.
Rupert went inside to his bedroom and sat down on his bed remembering the events from the lab and the infection spread. He looked out the second story window at the sky. "Its gonna be a bad one" he said to himself. His eyes then averted to the street where he surprisingly only saw 1, maybe 2 zombies every 20 yards. Where were they?

On the outskirts of NEW YORK CITY Hector and his team decided to spend the night at an old convinience store. The brought the van around back to rear entrance and positioned it so no zombies could crawl in. Bill and Hector quickly fortified the windows with shelves while Rebecca sobbed quietly in the corner. She was badly shaken from the attack, she was the teams rookie and had yet to see any sort of violence.
Hector: We'll camp here for the night, 3 hour shifts for guard duty. I'll go first, the Rebecca, then Bill. Bill: Night guys. Rebecca: Yea...
Hector sits on the counter with his crowbar across his lap and begins his shift as Bill and Rebecca fall to sleep. The hungry moans of the undead can be heard of towards the city.
