I personally don't think it will kill WoW, WoW got its own spin and fan base that won't move to Aion. I do however believe it will cut a big chunk out of their customer basis.
Aion is new, fresh ideas, and some of the old veterans of WoW are getting tired of the old stuff.

I won't say it'll kill off WoW but I do really think it'll change how MMO's are.
The content is new, the graphics are updated, its seemingly got great potential... A giant segment of many MMO's are gonna go & at least try out Aion

I don't think I've seen any MMO 'kill' off another MMO. Usually MMOs do it to themselves or they just age and slowly die off as people start to lose interest. I don't think this will quite have the same player type as WoW and they certainly know what they're doing to retain players, however Aion is good enough to get some interest and pull some folks away for a while, especially those who are looking for a change. Whether Aion stays strong will remain to be seen since it will have to face the same things as other MMOs, ie having good balance and continuing to keep players' interest. It has really pushed the graphics and is beautiful so far so it will keep pushing other MMOs in that direction.

Naagiisa Honestly, I'm getting really sick of people saying it's going to kill Wow and comparing the two. X____X I can understand how you feel, but usually when something comes out like this they have to compare it to something because they have to compete against that game. So far I like Aion for what it is, and I like WoW for what it is. I will probably play both.

Great point and fact there, second is that WOW world wide is getting less popular it's lost about 4 million players. so those 11million subscriber bull is fake now.

Everytime a new MMO comes out everyone asks this question. Nothing is going to kill WoW, ever. Except another Blizzard game (coughDiabloIII).
WoW has it's own horde of dedicated fans that aren't going anywhere. If anything, Aion is going to force Blizzard to step up their game and release new and interesting features to keep their less dedicated players in place. Bliz might lose some subscribers, but not enough to kill anything, imo.
We'll never really know that impact Aion is going to have unless Blizzard posts a poll on their main site asking their players how many of them plan on switching games, or a poll on the Aion website asking how many of their players came from WoW, and you know that's not going to happen. =p Well I don't know, maybe the latter.

well...critics are saying this game is releasing with the quality of WoWs second expansion, which is a HUGE dis on blizzard, however it probably won't "kill of" WoW...although I sold my WoW account to join Aion =) so it's doing a good job so far I guess, lol.
