HOW TO BEAT STRESS

I get stressed out when I don't get any time to myself to do the things I want. I keep trying to have a day to myself where I just don't do anything and sit in bed and read and write all day long, but everytime I try it just seems like something gets in the way. Example? Last sunday I tried to do this and I got called into work. It's really hard trying to find a day where it's just me. Any ideas to help?

Solution:

Cry, let everything out either by yourself or on someone's shoulder that you love and trust.
Talk to said loving and trusting person about what's going on.
Take a day or a week to yourself, doing only the things that you absolutely have to do - like going to work. (note, if you have kids, send them to the babysitters for a night or a few hours. )
Time to yourself is important when dealing with stress.
Relaxing is something you need.
Put your feet up, grab a good book, and leave into another world.

It is also possible to take a sick or personal day from work, I did this when I was at University and felt overwhelmed. Also Chamomile tea is very calming and soothing, taking a 10-15 min break with a cup can be surprisingly refreshing. -AWEN DANA

Remember that what isn't fatal isn't a big deal.

For me, I'm a fairly controlling person with aspects of my own life. I do my best to be early, I try to be there for my friends when they need me, I try my hardest.

But don't think you can control Life or anyone other than yourself and your mind/spirit/soul/whatever you like to call it.
Expectations ruin relationships - with yourself, with others and with Life. Love and let go.
If you're getting anxious about something, get away from it for a bit - take a walk without music outside, close to nature. Take five, deep breaths. Hold them until you feel it's natural to let them go. Concentrate on your breathing - it's a simple act that fuels your day-to-day life.
Lastly - smile. The power of smiles lies in the fact that they're contagious. And there's nothing more magical than a smile during a rainy day. -DROWN ABOUT MOUSE

when i get stressed i try to forget all of what put the stress on me by doing pretty much anything. Stress makes us hurt in ways that makes us worry and makes us feel bad for ourselves or other people...or that what stress feels like to me - SHADOW OF JULIUS

How To Save Money When Buying New Books

There are a few ways I've compiled of doing this. They are as follows.

One: Buy off the internet. Some websites offer very CHEAP books that are in good condition and still at a low price. I have saved so much money on books by buying online. Some good sites are:

Also you can join a book club on the internet and save a bunch of money too! Like these:

These two also have links to other really good book club web sites.

Two: Create a book list. If you have a lot of books like me you might find yourself buying two of the same one! Keep a list of books! This will help loads, I can't tell you how many times I went to buy a book, thought twice about, looked it up in my little book list and was surprised to find that I already owned it!

Take a binder. Fill it with Those dividers that have the alphabet on them. Fill it with paper. Separate your books by genre, then by author. For each letter title a page with every genre, then list your books alphabetically by author, title or whatever. This is a great way to do it because you can always add more paper as you aquire more and more books.

thanx for that idea..i never thought of doing a list, i just bought on whims..

i love to buy from secondhand book shop, but there's isnt one around here.. icon_stressed.gif -ZBO9

Zunafish.com is a really cool site where you can trade books--each trade only costs a dollar, plus shipping and handling fees on both sides of the trade. Though it's currently offline now. My personal favorite is Amazon.com; you can get rare books, and it usually has the best prices for new books. -FABULOUS MONSTER

Comparative shopping. Books at one store may be cheaper in another.

Used bookstores order brand new books from time to time, depend on what's popular, so just because you want something brand spanking new, doesn't mean that these aren't a good place to get a bargain. -WE WHO HAVE FALLEN

Half.com also generally has pretty good prices, that's where I bought almost all of my text books my last three years at University. -AWEN DANA

How about getting a library card? I love to read but my budget and apartment are both small. In my area all the libraries take part in inter-library loans, so I can login to the card catalog, find the book I want to read and have it sent to the closest library. This saves me from buying the books I want to read and from driving 20 miles to pick them up.

Libraries are wonderful things. -SHATTERFIST THE MAGLER

HOW TO MAKE A BANNER

Don't Know How To Make The Banner Work? Use The Following For Reference:

1.Get the image code from your photobucket (or where ever your pic is that can be linked to gaia)page. It should look something like this:

2.Next, get the page to which you want the banner to link to (like our guild home page). So now you also have this:
http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/index.php?guild_id=92929

3.Then take the url address and put
the webpage address ]

4.Then put the image address behind that. So far you should have:

5.Next, add to the end.

6.This code may be directly posted to your own signature.

IMPORTANT: When you post this code to share in the guild (or in any post in general) it will come up as the image. You don’t want this, it prevents others from obtaining the code for use in their siggy. So:

7.Take the final code you have created thus far as directed above and add
to the beginning of the big huge phrase you have made. At the end put the same with a slash in the front "[/co..." (I cannot illustrate this, it keeps coding it....:vein:)
When the post comes up it should say “code” and have the text in green.

Please Note: The pic and or the code in the post will not direct you to the embedded link that will only work when the picture is posted in your signature. (I am still doing some experimenting concerning this.)
