Appearence: Straight, black hair that hangs down at about her shoulders frames Lucy's round face. Her eyes are calm but firm. Lucy has relatively broad shoulders, and despite not looking like it, is quite in shape.
Biography: Lucy has never had an easy life, but she doesn't complain. The way she sees it, she was a lot luckier than the people around her for most of her life. Her mother developed bipolar disorder soon after she was born, so by the time she was old enough to understand what that meant, she was pretty much used to it. Her father was a good man, though she didn't see him much. This didn't bother her, though, because she knew it was the only way they could afford to keep her mother healthy, and herself in school.
High school was difficult for Lucy because of the added stress of taking care of her mother while he father was at work. She did manage to graduate, and get a scholarship to a local college for law enforcement. In her third year of undergrad, Lucy received word that her father had been shot and killed in by a gang of young juveniles who's only real intention was to take his money. Lucy made the difficult decision of dropping out of school to take care of her mother.
Hearing her story, the manager at a four-star hotel in the downtown area accepted her as a security guard. The job didn't pay great but it was more than her father earned as assistant manager at 7Eleven. Lucy did well working at the hotel, and impressed the manager. She was promised that if she kept it up, she would soon see a raise in status and pay.
During this time, rumors had been spreading of a zombie infection, but no one really believed it. The U.S. government "refusing to speak on the matter" only made it more comical to the hotel staff. Reluctantly, Lucy agreed to work a few extra late-night shifts in hopes of getting the raise she was promised. During her first extra shift, however, tragedy struck. A lone zombie had somehow managed to appear in the city and enter Lucy's home that night. Her mother, who was sound asleep at the time, was awoken only by the intense pain of the creature's teeth gnawing at her leg. Upon opening her eyes and seeing the monstrosity, she promptly fainted and was devoured.
Because she was unconscious (and therefor not struggling), Lucy's mother's body was completely destroyed, past the state of reanimation. Lucy once again counted her blessings as she would not have to see the site of her mother as a shambling corpse. However, the zombie was still loose in the city, and in the coming days panic spread throughout.
Since the infection has spread to level it has now, Lucy has been wandering with what equipment she could find in the hotel. She has yet to find a safe haven.
Personality: Lucy is a very solitary person. She has always been afraid of getting too attached to anyone, probably for fear of letting them down. Lucy always told herself that she didn't really have time for anyone other than her work and her mother. Now that she had neither, Lucy doesn't really know how to feel. She has yet to run into any other humans who are still sane, so she hasn't had to deal with forming or purposefully not forming relationships.
