----------------------------
I got it working in Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty) I installed wvdial BUT the Gnome PPP and KPPP Just Bombed xp just wouldn't work so I had to get down and dirty with wvdial (Not That hard BTW) changed the username, password, and phone number in /etc/wvdial.conf (Super User (su) /sudo rights required to edit file) and ran
wvconf
which auto detected the usb modem however it had the wrong broad speed which i changed to what it likes to run at 57600my wvdial.conf (minus my personal stuff of course fill in the <> fields with out <>
Oh Yeah also to run wvdial you need to be su or sudo it because pppd requires root access

Oh Yeah and one last thing because its usb you May (haven't tried yet) if you change the usb port the modem value will probably change just keep that in mind I think mine changed started at /dev/ttyACM0 before I screwed with it while trying to get the GUI dialers working.
All The Best,
