Death City Back Streets During the daytime they're simply a darker and smellier way to get from point A to B. During the night though, the labyrinthine streets and tunnels seem to close in on you, and who knows what could be lurking just around the corner...

[[ Guys, please don't post for a bit; Miles and I are trying a private battle RP, and we don't want it to get messed up. That and I want this egg. D< ]]
After yesterday's mishap ... There was no way she was going to let that Demon Desing get away! It could be hurting others right as of now ...
Of course, she had to drag Miles along, but it was for the better; one step closer to being a Deathscythe, right? Right! Though, when she saw the dark alleyways ahead of her, she couldn't help but shiver a bit. She took one step back and narrowed her eyes, but pressed on ahead.
There were reports about a Desing over here ... and its description sounded oddly familiar to the one she had spotted outside of Death City. If it was the one she was thinking about, they'd get it in no time.
The ribbon in her hair faltered a bit as she swung her head to look back at Miles, her Meister. "Oi, Miles-kun. You still back there?"

Miles the Meister All I have..."Yes. I am here." Came the soft voice from behind Nicxan. The white-haired Meister's violet eyes flicked around the current surroundings as if expecting an enemy to erupt from any surface he wasn't avidly watching. "Though I must say I don't care for the Kishin Egg's choice in place of dwelling." He murmured as he returned his gaze to his partner's face after catching up with her.
"I suppose it would be too much to ask for a battle out in the nice sunny open." A small anxious smile fell across his feature, but was quickly replaced by a more serious face.
"If we know it's going to be around here. Are you sure you want to be in human form? While this way we'll have a better chance of seeing anything, in the event we're taken by surprise, you'll be in danger."...is my dignity...

"Oooh. Good point." Though, she wasn't too worried about the 'danger' involved with this. If she was worried about that, she might as well withdraw from Shibusen and hide in her home. Danger came with the work!
Nicxan took Miles's words into consideration, though. She focused her energies and turned into the familiar black scepter, the feathers tied to it flying about as it flew into her Meister's hand. Even though she was a weapon, Nicxan still spoke.
"I feel a bit uneasy, Miles-kun. Be careful, all right?" Something was out of place. She couldn't put her finger on it. Then again, the heavy breathing in front of them--very close, no less--would tip almost anyone off. Thankfully, it was around the corner ... perhaps ... Miles could hear for himself, she hoped! They'd worry about technicalities later.
[[ here on in, I'll control the Demon and Nicxan, for those lurking. c: ]]

Miles the Meister All I have...Miles nodded and after Nicxan reverted into weapon form, gave a few experimental swings and spins. The alleyway wasn't so narrow that he'd be hampered that much. But the proximity of the walls still gave him a slightly claustrophobic feeling.
"Don't worry Nicxan. We're still within Death City so I know these streets. Flight, if necessary won't be that much of a problem. Besides I-" The Meister stopped abruptly, his mouth swung shut and his feet stopped in mid-step. There, up ahead he could hear something... breathing? No human sounded like that, no human smelled like that either. Tightening his grip on the polished wood Nicxan had transformed into, Miles began the breath pattern they taught all Meisters in order to focus their thoughts and body for battle and dashed out to face the beast around the corner.
'Oh... ick.'...is my dignity...

The entire creature was disgusting, rising up like a pulsating hill of flesh. It was hard to imagine this thing was once human, looking at it now it was nothing but a beast. Two pudgy legs that looked like someone had stuffed balloon after balloon under its skin supported the monstrosity with sickly green chipped toenails scraping at the ground. It was incredibly obese, its stomach bloated like a beached whale and was rumpled with odd shapes and mounds all over its body.
To its sides, its arms swayed back and forth like two huge, fatty pendulums, and pores dotted the arms to make the entire thing look almost speckled. Just above the green mottled chest though, hung the warped head.
One eye was much larger than the other, so much larger that it covered half of the entire once-man's head, and bright red veins pulsated through the eye to the beat of its shriveled heart. In contrast, the smaller eye was a dull black with pupils of white, and it lolled uselessly to the side as if it were a replacement glass eye. Protruded, pus-covered blisters spewed a constant flow of sickly white liquid down its back as he walked, leaving an almost slug-like trail of mucus and slime behind him as his fatty legs struggled to keep up with just a short pace.
Nicxan was going to hurl--that thing was disgusting and she was going to be ripping into it! Ecchhhh! Well, it wouldn't be a demon if it wasn't gross, right ...? The Weapon inhaled sharply, trying to keep her focus. She had seen worse--she wasn't going to let some fat ... THING beat her this time.
"It hasn't seen us, Miles ... you can sneak up from behind if you're careful!" It was true--the Demon Desing had its back turned to them, giving Miles a full-on view of the disgusting spectacle on the thing's back. Echh!

Miles the Meister All I have..."Urgh..." If the first impression had been bad, then staring at the Demon for even a moment longer made Miles' stomach twist into knots. He had heard that the form of the Desing took had something to do with the person in life. To imagine what that must have been like... well, Miles was just glad that he hadn't eaten yet.
But Nicxan was right, the thing hadn't noticed them yet and that well could be the decisive element in their favor. Looking at the thing's bulk (ugh), a direct hit would probably hurt quite a bit. Even with the armor resting beneath Miles' battle outfit. However, an old saying popped into his head. 'The bigger they are, the harder they fall.' Although painfully cliche, it applied here beautifully. If Miles could disable even one of the beast's legs, then hopefully it would be more or less immobilized. There was no way the sheer mass of the monster could be held up by just one of those sausage legs.
Taking a few steps forward to get into position, Miles sprinted, holding Nicxan low, and to his left. Clenching his mouth shut to prevent both a battle cry and possible splatter from the cut, Miles swung the blade of Nicxan's scepter with two hands. The target, the beast's left leg. ...is my dignity...

Nicxan, through much effort, managed to avoid the fact that she was cutting into sausage links, pretty much. Though, it was a direct hit--the scepter cleaved through the demon's leg. As the weapon jutted away, the monster screamed in agony; however, it was more like a low, yet deafening rumble. The pus and blood splattered about the alley, and Nicxan herself was covered in it.
The Demon Desing lumbered to face Miles, its two eyes rolling back in its head still. It lunged to attack, using its entire body mass to attempt to squish the both of them.
"Miles! Move! Quick!" She would know; his blows were insanely powerful; power in exchange for speed. That's how he got away last time ... Nicxan cringed at the memory. that was one painful swipe back there ...

Miles the Meister All I have..."Crap." The blow had certainly connected, but judging from the wound, the damage had been minimal. It would take at least another strike in the same place to cripple the leg. And it didn't look like the Desing was going to give them a chance to let that happen. Miles flung himself backwards at Nicxan's shout and barely avoided the grotesque bodyslam aimed for the two of them. Blinking to keep the rubble from what had previously been a cobblestone street out of his eyes the Meister assessed the situation and concluded that the Demon was not particularly bright. A bodyslam, while powerful if it hits, leaves a terrible amount of openings if it doesn't. "Let's go Nicxan." He murmured, and flung himself towards the head of the prostrated Demon. This time he would use his full weight along with his strength. He doubted it would be enough to take down the beast already. But now he had a plan. Counterattack after dodging the blows. There would no doubt be openings.
'Huh, so playing Castlevania isn't a total waste of time after all.' ...is my dignity...

The monster didn't have time to haul itself up before the scepter made contact with its back. Nicxan mentally cringed, but said absolutely nothing aside from a 'Hai!' in agreement, but ... ugh. This was groooooooss!
The Desing, however, began to writhe in pain. One of its arms, in the flail, headed straight for Miles's stomach.
[[ Ugh, short post is short. ]]

Miles the Meister All I have..."Hah!" The Scepter's point dug into the monster with a disturbingly satisfactory squelch. He had been aiming for the head. But a jump attack was harder to judge. Still, this should have done a decent-Oh no. Miles' eyes widened in shock as a meaty fist swung towards him, having no time to block or dodge, the blow connected and in an instant Miles was flung backwards, Nicxan still impaled in the demon's back. The impact against the wall was slightly more painful than the first, possibly because brick is harder than blubbery flesh. Still, Miles crumpled in a shower of dust and pulverized bricks after falling back down from against the wall. Things weren't looking too good now..
"Nicxan! Miles managed to cough out along with a small amount of blood. "Whatever you do.. don't change back!"
Still stunned, Miles could only manage to get back up to his knees while watching his foe advance....is my dignity...

Oh god, not good, not good. Nicxan directly disobeyed his order; she partially turned back into a human, while yanking the claw out of the monster's back.
Promptly, the weapon leaped in front of Miles, glaring daggers at the lumbering demon coming towards them. With a shrill shout, she rushed forward and leaped up, attempting to distract the monster in a desperate maneuver to let her Meister recover.
"Just hold on for a bit! move when you can, Miles-kun! I have this!" As she yelled out, the demon smacked her with one of its fists, sending her flying into one of the walls with a devastating crunch. A moment didn't pass before she got up and started swiping at the thing with her claw arm, keeping one eye on Mlies for the cue to return to weapon form.

Miles the Meister All I have..."Nicxan, you idoit." Miles hissed as he clambered back into a standing position, the anger clear in his eyes. Not only had Nicxan inadvertently ruined his next plan of attack, she had put herself in harm's way, and gotten injured for it. He himself had been through athletic training, and was even wearing armor beneath his clothes. And unless that skirt was made of Kevlar, Nicxan was far more vulnerable than he. "I'm fine." He murmured, a neutral mask on his face as he looked at this partner. His breathing was already stabilizing and he held out his hand. "Weapon form, now. We're going to finish this pudge-sack off now."...is my dignity...

Nicxan nodded sternly and promptly returned to being a scepter, narrowly avoiding another swipe from the beast. She flew into Miles's hand, somewhat shamed of her impulsive attack. But at least her Meister was OK. That's all that mattered, right?
"It'll take a moment for him to resume a defensive stance! Quick, go for the legs again!" Maybe another swipe to the leg would take down this monster ... but they didn't have much time to decide. The demon had raised both of its arms for a 'final smackdown,' aiming for a double pound. Not good.

Miles the Meister All I have..."No need to go for the legs. Didn't you hear me? We're finishing this now. Holding Nicxan as if she were a spear, Miles suddenly threw his weapon directly into the pudge of the monster. Amazingly, the point stuck. Though if the monster noticed, there was no signs as it slowly advanced further, its fists poised for attack. Then, a flash of light. Then next thing anyone was aware of, the Kishin Egg was floating in the air, its pudgy shell already dissolving and Nicxan, still in staff form lay over twenty feet from where the Demon had been. "Sorry about that... I kind of lost my temper." Mile spoke, walking forward nearer to Nicxan, moving his right arm out of sight....is my dignity...
