Well.. Im just curious as to how everyone gets in the "mood" for Role Playing... do you make a solid personality for you character, or do you just go wacko and act however you feel like, being totally unpredicable?

As for me, I dont role play much... sweatdrop so I dont have a way to get in the "mood" for role playing...

I need to visualize most things like the surroundings.

I don't RP much anymore.

Gone with Go.com chat.

When I roleplay, I like to make solid personalities for my characters. 3nodding

I like to know where I am, and have a good plan for how my character will act in certain situations. That said, it's a ton easier when you roleplay as a pre-made character, because it is most often pre-determined how a certain person will act.

However, most of the time, I just roleplay. I write stories a lot, so this is like the same thing. I just do what I always do, which is visualising the scene in my head, and writing down how it plays out in my head.

When I RP, I am mainly concerned with what's going on in the character's head. I try to actually see things how my character would. Instead of building a character around my personality, I try to fit myself into a completely different person than myself. It's more challenging that way.

Yeah, I also try to fit myself into the characters body, and mind set. See how they would to react to certain situations, and different places.
I also imagine the scenery in my head, which is quite fun to do.
I get what I think it to look like all planned out in my head, and start thinking about how the character would react to the setting.

My character is usually like me in a few ways, with plenty of lovely quirks.
I visualize my character's surroundings and think of all the things my actions could cause, and that is why it takes me a long time to post in roleplays.... sweatdrop

I'm like +absolutely^anime^crazy+. I usually visualise the scene in my head, and write down how it plays out as if it was happening right there and then. It makes it easier for me to rp.
Also, I have to make sure my character will be able to handle to situations that are about to un-fold later on.

But, I hate pre-made characters cause then I have to stay in a certain invisiable boundary and act like a certain person which doesn't get me in the mood to rp. With my own characters I can change them anytime I want to improve them to work with the storyline and pull out of the rp if I grow to hate it...

I also try and give my character a completely different mind set of my own.

And, if the plot isn't completely set in stone then that is pretty fun too.

This will be fun to answer =D
I don't get in the mood for RolePlay. The RolePlay sets my mood.

When browing a forum(Or subforum) such as this one, I sift through the Rps that have titles that catch my eye.I read through the storyline, and if it strikes my fancy I create a suitable character and play.If not, to hell with it.

The RolePlay itself completely determines the type of character I use.Whether or not they will use a certain profession, their name, their cultural background- hell, even their speach pattern. However, I can just create a character and force it into a RolePlay.I tend to do that when I feel like roleplaying, but can't find one I like.Usually it just hits me and I'm like 'I wonder if there are any good RolePlays that I'm not already in.'

In all seriousness though, the mood sets me, not the other way around xD
I am such a dork...

Speaking of RP, where the heck are the RP threads so many people wanted to have on the guild?

I made this forum for something.
