I gotta say its probably the most complicated game i've ever played. (Besides Warcraft) I played it for a few hours and finally made it to level 2 by beating maybe 2 quests. It took me forever to figure out what to do and i still dont know half the crap about basics. Though I can tell it will be a lot of fun when i figure crap out.

It's actually pretty basic once you get it all down.
You level up by levelling up your primary skills, whilst secondary skills are simply bonuses. Quests are non related. Once you get the message go to sleep, and you then level up.

Yeah, the whole level by leveling skills kinda threw me off, but I like the character creation. I just started playing as well.

Oblivion, the fourth game in the Elder Scrolls series, is set within the province of Cyrodiil, the heartland and Imperial capital of Tamriel. Emperor Uriel Septim VII is assassinated in flight from his own palace, but just before he dies he passes to you - the foreordained of his dreams - the mystic Amulet of Kings. The adventure begins with the quest to find Uriel's lost and illegitimate son, the only heir to the throne. In a world where the forces of darkness seek their ultimate dominion over the ranks of man and mer alike, you alone stand between the future of Tamriel and the gates of Oblivion. XxCrimson_ShinobixX I've heard alot from this game but I have no clue on what it is about..Can anybody clear that up for me? Basically what Tashi said, but there are somethings I wish to add, primarily in the area of character creation. When you make a character, you choose from one of ten (I think) distinct classes, each with their own strengths, weaknesses, and appearance. You also get to choose what is basically a zodiac sign (think of it as your 1 perk for the whole game) and one of several classes based on combat, magic, and stealth. In other words, with all the different combinations, its a lot more in depth than Fallout 3.

You don't have to choose out of the classes, you can make your own too, I think it's 'x' on the 360. Then you can pick what skills(21) and what attributes(7) you want.
Also your skills are the tags, which I think you can pick 7 skills for your custom class...

Ok I just read this forum and now I might drop fallout and try Oblivion. Sounds fun. I want a bad a** knight with wicked armor (like Metalocolypse on adult swims XD))
