I thought I'd create a thread for the RPG and MMORPG players in the guild to just post whatever about their games that fit into these categories. Like your favorites, why, and all that stuff.
Firstly, since I'm starting it, the only MMORPG that I play at the moment is Lord of the Rings Online. I love playing it because the people are friendly, and I used to be a huge Lord of the Rings fan. Rainfled is my main's name. Lol. I am a Hunter from Rohan. xd
I'm not into the platform RPG that much. At least not of the Final Fantasy type (the turn-based ones). Storyline seems to go so slowly with them (although I will admit that the graphics in these can be sweet).
So, now that I've sorta got this thing started...post whatever you like (so long as it goes with the rules set down by the owners/administrators of the Guild. wink

The only MMO I'll play is Neverwinter Nights. I'm not sure why, since the story is so cliche. It just passes the time for me, I guess. A friend got me into it to play online with her, but it never took since my laptops were always a step behind hers. So..I played by myself. Why waste a game I haven't finished, and turned out to be fun? razz

I went through a stage last year where in I downloaded every single free MMO I could find on the web in the hopes that I would finally find one thats good. Surprisingly, I actually found two very good ones, that were NOT WOW clones. ( Shin Megami Tensi : Imagine Online and Wonderland Online) Other than that, I actually found the sheer number of WOW clones very very depressing, so I have, largely, discontinued my search, and consigned my self to the decidedly enjoyable world of Guild Wars....cant seem to recall what my last screen name was redface .
As for the regular RPGs, I'm a hugh fan of the Final Fantasy series, though their most recent releases I have found to be a tad less enjoyable than the older titles, relating, mostly, I believe, to the fact that the developers have been stretching their work force and resources far too thin.
I do love the Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion. Its just a wonderful exploration game, and everyone has their own stories to tell about it.

I've played just about every MMO out there... or at least a lot of them. I've played a lot of the free ones and have usually been disappointed, but I've found a few that were actually pretty good, but there usually buggy as hell.
I just stick with WoW now. I rarely play it, but when I do I enjoy it. I hate all the twelve year-olds that are playing it now and blame Runescape for spreading them around.
As for regular RPGs I tend to not play them unless they're something that aren't JRPGs which are slow and usually with a shitty story that's told at a stupid pace and you get no say in the story. I in-fact don't consider JRPGs to be actual RPGs because they lack that whole; original characters with original stories and with choices that the player can make that have an effect.

....Recent Final Fantasy games are no longer turn based. Like Final Fantasy XII. Or Crisis Core.... ....A really good MMO I've found is called Mabinogi.... ....Oblivion is amazingly fun, but it's almost too limitless....

I've played around just a bit with Oblivion...I'm just not all that used to having controls like that. Lol. It takes just a bit of getting used to.
Mostly I just play my Lord of the Rings. *shrug* I like the people on there a whole lot better than those on WoW. WoW is just...too mainstream...and from what my boyfriend (who plays WoW a lot) says, it's going downhill rather fast...
(Please pardon any grammatical errors...I'm recovering from being sick)

Just an aside, since oblivion has come up a few times, that siticky out there, "Travelers Tales" was set up for the purposes of trading stories of your travels in Oblivion, not the quests you did or whatever, but interesting things that have happened to you, or interesting sights, occurences or what have you. Just wanted to point out its purpose because Im deleting it soon if it doesnt get any traffic.

I play Mabinogi, but I am currently looking into this horror based MMO called Requiem: Bloodymare. It looks pretty awesome.

Madtv43 I play Mabinogi, but I am currently looking into this horror based MMO called Requiem: Bloodymare. It looks pretty awesome. Mabinogi looks great, but the only way to play it outside of Northern America is to download this dodgy sounding I.P Address disguiser, I'm not too confident in such softwares.

Currently having internet issues, so every time I log into LOTRO, I can stay on for maybe 30 minutes tops before I temporarily lose connection... Ugh, it's frustrating. I hate calling CenturyTel...

I was actually wondering this.
I don't think anyone considers them mmos, but more strategy computer games.
Civilization? I played Sid Meiers Civilization for the DS, and Civilization III, and IV. I enjoyed all of them.
Recently got into Rise of Nations, which I'm pretty sure is just a real time strategy, but it's too competitive. Although I enjoy competition, some of the people out there can be overkill.

Overkill kills me with the gaming world. I am much the same. It turns me off to have to compete against the elite while being either a newb or an average player. I'm not a hardcore gamer by any means...

I go for Luna Online!!! 3nodding It's a really cute game, with really good gameplay!!
As far as overkill is concerned, I hate it! There are many who wish to duel with me. Sadly for them though, I love turning them down! biggrin

The only MMORPG I play is World of Warcraft, and I haven't played in in ages.
RPG-wise, I enjoy a few series: Tales of..., Breath of Fire, Final Fantasy, and Dragon Quest. There are also countless stand-alone games like Eternal Poison and several others that I'm currently too lazy to mention.
