You may be wondering what the difference is between the two role play forums. Well to put it plainly here it is:
Linear
-All characters in separate campaigns can meet and interact.
-Allows for play without your specific DM since multiple campaigns are in progress.
-DM's work more so as moderators of small groups of players, this will prevent rules from clashing with each other.
-There will be one WDM (World Dungeon Master) on each Linear Forum. They will be the DM who covers all the world wide issues and has more power than the DM's.
Non-Linear
-Each campaign is in a separate world per say. Players from one DM's campaign can not interact with ones from another DM's campaign.
-All RP for a single campaign is done in one thread.
Currently Linear campaigns is a theory. In fact I've thought of 3 ways to execute it, each better than the last...
Current best execution:
Each DM would be a moderator of their own kingdom. This will allow for the creation of their own dungeons, cities, and miscellaneous places. In theory, DM's would have to meet with each other to discuss world changes and other things... such as a villain so powerful he's a threat to all kingdoms, bringing many individual players together to fight it. DM's would also have to meet to set down rules about crossing over into another kingdom they don't regulate. This is still just a theory, until a better way is discovered.
Souls of the Abyss
We're a guild dedicated mainly to Dungeons and Dragon's based role play. We're looking for semi-literate role players and DM's.
