So, despite having done a couple malexmale roleplays in my time, I'd never actually read a manga with such things. Consulting my yaoi-goddess friend for help, she lent me one of her books. It was a series of cute one shots and...and I-I couldn't get through it! -sob-
The stories were cute until it got to the hot and steamy parts with no censoring what-so-ever. Then I guess my poor, innocent virgin eyes couldn't take it because I had instinctively tossed the book across the room. >.< I blame my friend for not telling me that was in there.
I don't think I'm cut out to be a yaoi fangirl. Anyone else ever have this problem? -somehow doubts it, but...-

Hmm.... the first time I saw one like that... I was so red... even my ears were blushing.... =D It just takes a little getting used to. Read ones like Our Kingdom first, they have censoring, moderate censoring. You see things but it takes a little imagination to fill it in and know exactly what is happening. Take things slow and you'll see that it's the same as a lot of things. It takes some getting used to =3

Hehe, I was the same. I still go red when a one shot has little or no censoring. You could try searching soft yaoi on YouTube, Google, or something like that. That normally doesn't show or go as far as steamy smex, haha ~

Ah, thank you. I'll try checking things like that out instead. ^^
Also, upon talking to my friend, I learned that she tried to traumatize me on purpose. Thought that it'd be funny. >.< She's planning on lending me some of her...easier things later once she finds them under all the dirty stuff.

Aw, that's harsh. That's one bonus of being the only person I know who even knows what Yaoi means ~
I once told my friend it stood for Young Adults On Ice x D

Most of my friends knew of yaoi long before I did.
xD My friends use me as their generator for excuses as to why they have yaoi should their parents ever realize what is in the books they read. My favorite is still:
"It's a way of understanding different, alternative life styles and the thoughts behind them through the use of stylized stories and graphic arts."
Though I should probably tell them about that Young Adults On Ice bit.

Shut up – I’ll bust you up. Lol, I was exposed to hard-core yaoi relatively quickly - but only through the written word. You can thank fanfiction for that. xD I still go red, but only because the stuff's just too damn hot, and not because I'm embarrassed beyond all mortal comprehension. In fact I'm really choosy about what I read - if it's not well-written and uses really vulgar words for body parts out of dialogue, I leave the writer a kinda-sorta nasty review. No one wants to read that. neutral
The very first manga I read that had malexmale was Gravitation, and that wasn't really that bad. The real hardcore stuff I've gotten my hands on are the doushinjis - OMG. 8D
But yeah, you just have to get used to it. You're a girl - it'll never happen to you.
