The Murder of Ellie Williams!
“ I felt that if I hadn’t left home that day Ellie would still be with us.” Rose sobbed. Joey tried to comfort her but he too was trying to hold back tears…
It all started a week ago when Joey, Kevin, Rachel and Rose where invited to a Halloween party at Edmund Grams mansion, Ellie was serving drinks and when she gave one to Kevin she felt that she knew him from somewhere “ K- Kevin? Kevin Jaymes?” Ellie said in a surprised yet shaky voice. When Kevin saw who it was he jumped and said “ Well, well! Look who it is, Ellie Williams from high school… Long time no see!” After a while everyone was talking to Ellie until Edmund saw that she wasn’t working “ Ellie Williams! Go back to work… Actually no, go take a break.” Yelled Edmund as he slowly walked down the stairs, Ellie ran past him and got her coffee from the kitchen. She stood on the third step and waited for her break to end, but little did she know that this break would be her last break. Ellie began to feel sick and dizzy, she took her last gasp of air and collapsed. Everybody ran over and Joey checked her pulse. “ It’s too late, she’s dead” he said. Kevin ran over and tried to get her breathing again but it was no use.
The sound of sirens soon filled the air but Kevin’s crying seemed to be the loudest thing there for he had never had any of his family members or anyone as close as Ellie die before. The chief of police came in and yelled “ Alright, everybody here tomorrow, 8:00am sharp for questioning!” so everybody left; first Rose, then Rachel, Joey, and of course Kevin last. It was a sleepless night that night. When they got to the mansion the next morning they noticed something odd about Rose who was wearing pink, listening to rap, not wearing jewelry and not talking about herself! “ Rose are you okay?” asked Joey and her answer was as simple as blinking “ Yep…” Rose said calmly. So the officer questioned Joey first, asking him where he had been at 10:00pm last night on October 30. “ I was talking to Rose … or was it Rachel? I don’t remember” Joey said in a dazed, tired voice. The chief asked Rose who said that she had been with Rachel who said she had been talking with Kevin who said nothing and started crying. Finally every one could go home! Kevin, no longer crying, yelled “ Okay, There’s a new detective in town and his name is Kevin Jaymes!” He told everybody to stand were they where at the time of the crime so they all stood around the outline of Ellie. “ Not there! Okay, stand where you were before Ellie fell into a never ending slumber!” Kevin said in an annoyed voice. Everybody stood at the bar.
Kevin started looking for clues. He swabbed the coffee and finding hairs that were supposedly Ellie’s, he ran up into the kitchen where on the counter was an empty bottle of smelly poison. He took the bottle and told everyone they could go.
In the mansion he found a lab where he tested the items and got the results… He ran home and laid in his bed wondering why anyone would do such a thing.
The next morning they all stood at the bar. “ There are two current suspects… Rose and Edmund.” Said Kevin. Edmund looked around the room and said: “ I only used the poison to kill some E… Spiders…” so Kevin asked how he knew the poison bottle was one of the clues. “Lucky guess!” replied Edmund.
Rachel glared at Edmund and yelled: “ Edmund Gram! I can’t believe you! I know it was you, admit it. Edmund tell the nice people what you did…”
For a few minutes there was an awkward pause between Edmund and Rachel. “ Well, well Rachel!” exclaimed Edmund, “ I am very surprised that you, of all people, would yell at a lonely old man such as myself. Mostly because the old man you’re yelling at is the keeper of the horrible secret that caused this whole thing!” Then Edmund held up a wad of cash. Every one stopped, looked at Rachel until finally Kevin broke the silence: “ What is he talking about Rachel?” At that point they all where hoping to hear the same thing: That he was a lying old fool who committed the murder for attention. But unfortunately they heard the opposite: “ I can’t take the guilt anymore! I did it! I was just so jealous when I saw Kevin talking to her. That Ellie Williams… I couldn’t stand it. I’m sorry.”
As Kevin walked up to Rachel, the door opened and in came the chief of police who hand cuffed her. As they walked out the door, Kevin said in a sad, calm voice: “ It’s too late for sorry.” Then he ran over to Rachel and kissed her. It was the first bit of peace they had that entire week and that single kiss marked the last time they ever saw each other.
So this is proof that not all stories have a happy ending.
