Is anyone paying attention to the MCs anymore? Sometimes I wonder if the artists even are.
I like the Koi, even if it is another fish tale. The colors are bright and useful with a number of themes, so I think this has some long-term potential. It's a solid, middle of the road offering.
I think the Black Wolf has less potential - yes, it is black and white, always a winning combination. But the items are very specific, and I'm just not seeing a more general use for them.
One of the ways I evaluate the initial potential of an item is how many avatars I see around which are wearing them. And neither of these has been particularly popular - the item I see most is the Koi tail.

I pay some attention to the MCs.
I like the koi and I see a lot of people use the pond pose. The main problem I see with the koi is that the colors are not popular ones, unlike the wolf.
As for the wolf I think this one has some potential. As you said black and white is always a winning combo.
To me, I think that people just like the EIs and the RIGs better.
Maybe if Gaia try something really simple next month for the MCs, they could bring attention back to them.

I like both items.
I really like the Wolf. So much so that I lent my omg so I could wear it.
I like the koi too but so far I have trouble matching the orange and blues. That and the Inari's beads are expensive.

The wolf in my eyes is more of a black and gold item. I think it has far more potential than the Koi due to the poses of the wolf being better compliments for outfits.
The colors of the Koi are nice but difficult to exact match all in one outfit. I enjoyed the tattoo pose it has, but I have to be shirtless to get any effect out of it. The fishes everywhere thing isn't super popular with people, nor is the whole fish idea, you can tell because of the Yameya Pearl prices not being impressive when that item represents that genre essentially.
