As the name implies, this is an idea/ suggestions thread for our RP world. This particular thread will cover all discussion about future factions/ organizations (Such as The Darkeye Syndicate). Raiders/ Mercenaries/ Rogue Military/ Remnant Military/ Bandit organizations may all come to mind here, as well as practically anything else you can put your mind to. Please bear in mind that while you are welcome to suggest/ discuss factions that might have basis in magic or otherworldly forces, they will not be implemented into the RP. This is to help preserve the setting of a realistic RP. Doesn't mean you can't chat about it though ;p

-Suggest/ Comment on Faction ideas here
-Discuss/ Brainstorm with other members about current/ concept factions
-Post writing/ research/ images regarding your Faction ideas!!

Please be respectful of all members' ideas. Even if you do not feel they are a good idea, or they are not implemented into the RP environment, be kind enough to act civil.

Thank you, and start thinking!

LOL First post once-again!
Oh I am hurt Bayne! XP NO NECROMANCERS? waa!
Oh well!
Can there be a faction of mindless humans that are half-infected? ^^
I think that would be interesting . . . if it were possible.
Perhaps the DarkEye syndicate's failures?
Or poor souls that had a genetic "resistance" to the disease?

Regarding The Darkeye Syndicate, they are not affiliated with the infection in any way, shape, or form. At leas,t the organization as a whole isn't twisted

Bear in mind that while "real" necromancers cannot factor into the equation, there will almost certainly be groups of people who have fallen to satanism or druidic beliefs during the apocalypse; even people that use the virus in rituals or other grizzly things.

Half infected humans are a possiblity, and I'd imagine that any sort of faction of them would be rather short lived unless it was organized by (and led by) uninfected individuals, as the incubation time really doesn't allow for a long term organization. However, consider the possibility of "Men of God" rounding up infected humans into concentration camp/ leper community type areas, where they feel it's morally right to watch over these dying mortals and guide them peacefully into death.

The possiblity of people who are "immune" to the infecting agent is likely. There are not enough of these people to really create a faction out of them -not yet anyway- but there is also a possiblity for "carriers" (see 28 weeks later) who are themselves immune but can infect others with the virus/ disease.

A faction of mindless humans would go against the very concept of a faction, though. They wouldn't be able to do anything, and any attempts at organization and cohesion would totally fail.

Hmm, you sir, are an impressive debater!
Your facts are noted, it is a little too complicated and risky for myself.
I shall leave the half-human idea to you, yes?
And yeah XD some fake necromancers/satanists/voodooists would a lot of fun I think.
But I think they would be short-lived as well since even scientists in controlled environments have lost control of zombies.
And some of the faction's actions would be foolish.
The necromancers would have wide-spread acception to the virus, and congregate to be turned most likely--ending their faction pretty quickly.
The satanists would mess up somewhere and be eaten during their rituals.
The druids would attempt to devour pieces of the zombie (see: their belief system and practices in ancient Europe) turning themselves.
But clerics, ah, that has much possibility, and long-termness, along with fun.
I imagine an army of priests rushing a group of zombies, and trying to stave them off with tiny crosses, lol. I suppose that would work against necromantical zombies, but viral? NO, lol.
Hmm, churches could easily be turned into infected internment camps. And early gothic beliefs had mass-graves on church grounds twisted quite commonly numbering in the hundreds per plot!
I remember reading a funny story about a church that had so many dead people wanting to be buried by the church that they had to stack coffins one on the other, sometimes the ground would overflow, spilling bodies into streets! ha ha
You have very good ideas sir!

I propose two:
The Erie Militia and Satan's Angels.

The Erie Militia was founded by wealthy businessmen who had the sense to take their families on their yachts and houseboats and seek shelter across the lake. When they saw that it was just as bad everywhere, they settled on one of those rockbars out in Lake Erie, just a few miles off coast. I noticed one had a man-built platform on it with a satellite on one end, which could probably help them broadcast for more recruits.
Anyway, after about several days they saw that they would need supplies, and several of the men and their sons went in search of food and other necessities. They ran into a group, about 20, of well armed, but frightened young soldiers from Fort Erie nearby and hired them as guards and scavengers, by letting them live on the boats with them.

Meanwhile there are Satan's Angels, a bike gang gone raider band. They have overtaken the USS The Sullivans, a navy ship docked at Naval Cove Park. They are currently in a small war with the Erie Militia, who want the ship to themselves.

These factions could bring not only human vs. zombie, but human vs. human aspects into the roleplay, which would make things rather interesting.

Grey, minor spelling errors that are infrequent are not a big deal. Remember that this is a SEMI literate to literate guild, and Vivios is clearly one of our more literate members. Grammar police isn't necessary. In fact they got eaten by zombies a long time ago wink

Now, regarding the druidic/ satanist factions, that's not entirely true. Just because their beliefs are rather crazy doesn't mean they are short lived. The Stanic cult could be awaiting the arrival of the Anti-Christ, and chianing up/ enslaving zombies to use them agains survivors (of course they'd have no real way to control them, but a bunch of undead chained together will inevitably move in the same direction)

A druidic group, regardless of the foundational beliefs of Druidicism (htw you spell it) there are modern day groups of "druids" who do not cannibalize or eat tainted flesh, and I think it's pretty obvious that zombie flesh is a hell of a lot worse than pork xD This is an idea that will need a little more refining though, as pagan groups are extremely varied and it will come down to what exactly we want to see.

Eerie's Militia would be a very interesting concept, but as for the war between them and Satan's angel's I'm not too sure it would work. Trying to keep a US Naval vessel fueled would be near impossible, but we can always say they've never really moved the boat, or that they go out on the ship's dinghies. Satan's Angels, as far as bike riding raiders go, was actually an idea I was planning on implementing. I take it you've seen Romero's Dawn of The Dead? Very similar sort of thing.

Well the Erie Militia was only planning on moving the ship over to where all their yachts and stuff are so they have more living space, and they're based only about two-ish miles out on the lake.

They wouldn't, like want it to try conquer something.

I think, silly as it may sound(stupid too.), that a rennasaiance fair should have been set up outside of town, and now the survivors there go into the city for raiding, battleaxes and all. The fairgrounds could be their base, with the gates locked and guarded by the security guards and other people. They would probably run out of medication and such, as these places don't often expect an apocalypse to cut into their swordplay time. There would be blacksmith stalls, so scrap(old cars etc.) would be made into weapons, and those trapped inside would be trained to use these weapons. There are enough skilled people in there to create clothes, weapons, barricades, armor... maybe even have a few horses. It would be funz.
