i would like to know how i ask a girl that i have know for 3 years and have talked to for 3 years out but i want to ask her out the right way.

well in that situation i would spend 2 days of preping her:
day1: hang out with them
day2: give her a small treat or gift

then on the next day ask if they would like a lunch date or dinner date. or at least that would be my plan
