It sounds like this person has been tortured for so long that he/she's had enough and the unsuspecting cage rattler doesn't realize that he/she's lost his/her hold on the person breaking free. It's like the opposite of Stock-Holmes' Syndrome (I think that's the right name) It's really good!!!!
