i only got into cosplaying about a year ago. making closet cosplays is in my opinion the best way to start.

Thrift store/Sale cosplaying is another great way to get started. And for those on a tight budget or schedule. It's where you take cheap (money-wise, not quality-wise) clothing and alter it into a costume piece.
For example, you would take a red button-up shirt, remove the sleeves, and replace the buttons with large, round gold buttons and you have Luffy's (One Piece) shirt.
It's a great way to practice basic sewing skills. Also it's wallet friendly, and takes less time than actually making the costume pieces.

Do we have any Daishocon pictures of you in that? I have yet to try cosplaying. It's kind of the undiscovered country for me, but I am curious about it. I'm also sick of standing out like a sore thumb at cons because I'm one of only a few people not in cosplay sweatdrop .
