Name: Kang Ling Deng
Name Meaning: Kang = peaceful, quiet; happy, healthy
Ling = spirit, soul; spiritual world
Alias: Kang, Kan(-chan)
Gender: Female
Age: 17

Height: ~5'4"
Weight: ~98 lbs
Skin: Light tan
Build: Thin, frail
Ethnicity: Chinese

Hair: When let down, her wavy light black hair reaches her elbows. However, it is usually done up in a side ponytail (on Kang's left side). She also has a side bang that covers her right eye and it is always adorned with plain clips.
Eyes: Her eyes are a shade of light brown reminiscent of caramel.
Clothing: A modest girl unused to showing off, she prefers casual clothes such as pants and comfortable shirts. Rarely does she wear dresses, skirts, or other girly things (save for her the clips on her bang, but that's an exception).
Usually, Kang dons a pair of of flared jeans and a graphic tee. She'd also have an a jacket that is left zipped open and with the sleeves rolled up to her elbows. As for shoes, she always wears blue converses.

Likes: When it comes to food she will generally eat anything, but has a particular fondness for Western desserts and other sweets. Although most of Kang's time is spent studying and doing missions, she also enjoys gardening and has a vast knowledge of plants. An avid reader, she likes to carry around a book with her. She is also interested in reading the news about anything, but mainly of Shibusen and issues surrounding kishin. Kang admires various characteristics of a lot of people, but especially those who're friendly and cheerful.
Dislikes: Due to her personality, she dislikes anything scary and will freeze up in dark, murky places. She also likes to keep things clean ("What if I don't find something I really need and I die?!") and therefore hates dirty, messy rooms and places. Kang also dislikes pranks and cruel jokes even if meant to be funny. She also doesn't like shallow people.

Personality: Soft and quiet, it's not surprising to forget about Kang. Tending to over think things through, she hesitates often and is always full of doubts and musings. From reading many books, Kang can sometimes have an overactive imagination that causes her to be very reluctant and scared. Easily flustered and panicked, she is easy to take advantage of. She is obedient and finds it hard to refuse requests. Kang is nervous around others, but is always friendly towards those who approach her with good intentions in mind.
Background: Born and raised in California as a first-generation child, she speaks both English as well as Chinese. The second eldest child in a family with six kids, Kang Ling assumed the role as the big sister that helped and looked after her younger siblings. With her parents constantly away due to their busy jobs, it was Kang and her older brother that was held responsible for the younger three. Juggling schoolwork as well keeping order in the house was a busy, but pleasant life.
During the summer, her parents decided that they would go to Nevada to visit extended family. That was where she heard of Shibusen and decided to see if she could enter.

Name: Rainer Moreau
Name Meaning: Rainer = deciding warrior
Moreau = little dark
Alias: Ray, Rainy(-kun)
Gender: Male
Age: 18

Height: ~5'11"
Weight: ~134 lbs
Skin: Pale peach
Build: Lanky, athletic
Ethnicity: French

Hair: His layered (I love layered hair -shot-) hair is light blond, the longest strands barely brushing his shoulders. Rainer has messy bangs that often get into his eyes.
Eyes: Rainer's eyes are sparkling light blue that match the sky.
Clothing: He isn't particularly picky about his clothes. His wardrobe consists of many graphic tees, jeans, and other clothes his brother kindly picked out for him. Not paying too much care to appearance, Rainer wears whatever first shirt and pants he sees look okay together. He also wears trainers a lot.

Likes: Although usually seen carting around his sleeping brother, he also has the time to enjoy sports. However, Rainer is also actually someone who is talented at dancing and does it often. With a love of music he always carries around a music player and listens to it. Sometimes he is also occasionally spotted with a pair of drumsticks. It is assumed that he can play drums, but he is still a beginner at it. He is also not a picky eater, but especially loves fruits such as strawberries or peaches.
Dislikes: Though he's not a picky eater, Rainer avoids anything spicy due to the fact that he doesn't take hot foods very well. He doesn't mind carrying around his constantly-dozing, younger sibling, but sometime wishes that Caine could properly take care of himself. He is also protective of his friends and family, so he does not tolerate people hurting them.

Personality: The more amiable of the two brothers, he is willing to please others with a smile and sincere courtesy. More outgoing than either Caine or Kang, Rainer is usually the 'leader' and the talker who represents the group. Never running out of patience, it is rare that this boy is angered or unusually violent. However, he can be a little on the clueless side. Since he listens to his music so much, Rainer is often in a daze during class and can agree to the weirdest of things without even hearing the details properly.
Background: The memory of his birth parents are vague. It is said that Rainer's and Caine's mom had died in childbirth and his father raised the two on his own. However, after dying in a car accident one rainy night when the boys were five, the pair was taken in by a high school friend of the father. They were left with a picture of their biological parents at their wedding day.
Their new family was very well off and had only a sickly, little girl named Lily that was a year younger than them. Being at a young age, they could not perceive what exactly was going on at the time of the funeral, therefore the twin's assimilated into their family well.
After one day watching a traditional Japanese dance, they decided to poke fun at it when they got home. Unfortunately (fortunately?) it led to them turning into Japanese war fans.

P.S. Caine and Rainer are twins. Rainer is the older one and Caine is the younger one.

Weapon Form: Larger than a regular fan, when completely unfolded the width is a foot and the height is nine inches. Rather than be made of paper and wood, the spokes are made of metal and the paper portion is also outlined with metal. The paper is blue with yellow swirls and flowers.

Name: Caine Moreau
Name Meaning: Caine = n/a
Moreau = Little dark
Alias: Kay(-chan)
Gender: Male
Age: 18

Height: ~5'11"
Weight: ~126 lbs
Skin: Pale peach
Build: Lanky, athletic
Ethnicity: French

Hair: Like Rainer, he has light blond hair and also dons the same hairstyle.
Eyes: Caine has blue eyes as well; however, they are dark blue like the deep ocean.
Clothing: Unlike his sibling or Kang, he has a more fashionable sense of style. Always mixing and matching, he's unafraid to explore the possibilities and always adds on accessories such as hats or necklaces. However, Caine avoids wearing anything particularly flashy or eccentric.
He likes to layer his clothes and his outfit is always different day-to-day. Despite his wide array of clothes, he prefers to just wear plain sneakers or of the like.

Likes: The number one thing that he likes best is to sleep. Therefore he likes peace and quiet. Soft sounds are alright too. That is why Kang and Caine get along well. When Caine is awake, he likes to watch the clouds and stars. Sometimes he also opens the violin case he brings around with him and plays it.
Dislikes: Obviously, Caine does not like loud nor sudden noises. Those who bother him he finds to be annoying, especially people with loud voices or rudely interrupt others. He also dislikes sweet foods, especially really sweet ones.

Personality: Always seen with half-lidded eyes full of disinterest, he is an aloof and nonchalant sort of guy. He is incredibly more impatient than Rainer is and he doesn't hesitate to say so. Caine has no qualms about inconveniencing others as well as hurting them with insults and mockery. Despite this cold side of him, he can also be kind and considerate, especially to his friends. When in a good mood he can be more friendly and playful. Although a bit prideful, he is the voice of reason within the trio and the one who thinks the most rationally. With a keen eye for things, Caine is also the tactician of the team.
Background: The memory of his birth parents are vague. It is said that Rainer's and Caine's mom had died in childbirth and his father raised the two on his own. However, after dying in a car accident one rainy night when the boys were five, the pair was taken in by a high school friend of the father. The sky was cloaked in cold darkness. Ominous, dark purple clouds obscuring the smiling, yellow crescent moon, only the twinkling stars lit the way with their dim glow.

In a sleeping town, not a single house light shined as hidden figures stepped down the cobblestone street. Hiding in the shadows, only their outlines were visible. It was a trio, and in the name of Death the Kid (-shot-) they were symmetrical. The two on the edge were of the same height while the middle figure was slightly shorter.

Eventually arriving at the end of the trail, they faced the house looming over them. One of the tall pair stepped into the lamplight and admired the building’s height with his sky blue eyes. “Well! So our first mission has come at last!” Rainer mused and turned towards the other two with a smile and cocked head. “So it’s our first mission, huh?”

The shortest of the group silently stepped out to bask in the warm light. She shivered at the freezing night temperature and rolled down the sleeves of her jacket. “I-It’s finally come to this. But the house is so intimidating, eek . . .”

Finally, the last person placed a foot forward and casually slapped Kang Ling on the back. “You’ll be fine. We’re here after all,” reassured Caine, blinking his sleepy, half-lidded eyes.

She nervously nodded her head and tried to remind herself of this fact, but then she began to frantically shake her head in the middle of it. “No. No! Wh-What if some scary man jumps out and attacks me? A-And then I die! Uuuu. That’d be scary.”

The younger twin blankly stared at his technician, opened his mouth, and after nothing came out closed it, sighing. “Rainer. You handle this. I’m heading in first,” he declared and strolled up the front porch and entering the abandoned home.

Brown eyes watched the back of the boy until it disappeared behind the wooden door. The Chinese paused and recoiled. “Eh? EH? EEEEEH? Caine! Don’t go in! The scary man is going to get you!”

Rainer wrapped a long arm around her thin shoulders and offered her a confident smile. “It’s alright, Kan. He’ll be alright. You know the way he is. Let’s go in too.”

“NOOOOOOO!” While the fourteen-year-old screamed her refusal, the older boy calmly pushed her forward, never relinquishing his grasp around her.

“See? That wasn’t so bad!” quipped the cheerful blond, not minding Kang Ling’s iron-tight hold on his arm.

“Y-Yeah . . . OHMYGODWHATIFTHEY’REGHOSTSHEREANDWEGETCURSED?!” she suggested with a gasp, eyes wide with fear.

He laughed it off. “Come on, Kang. You really think that’d happen?”

“GET READY FOR IT!” cried out Caine as his running figure appeared out of the darkness. Unfamiliar, crazy cackles echoed after him.

Rainer lazily stretched his arms and chuckled. “Looks like the time’s come.”

“Eh? Ah? AH?” A confused Kang Ling caught the large, blue war fan that was now Rainer Moreau. A few seconds later, Caine jumped and in seconds she caught fan-ified Caine Moreau as well. “You’re seriously gonna have me fight him?!”

“That’s the plan!” they chorused.

“I-I don’t think I can follow this plan!” she whimpered and shrieked when the murderer came charging towards her. Instinctively Kang ducked and timidly slashed with one of her fans. The stranger grunted and keeled over, grumbling about the pain the superficial cut left.

“You call that a slash?” barked Caine. “Do it with more power! And strike while he’s down!”

“Y-Yes sir!” squeaked Kan and hurriedly did as commanded, blindly aiming for anywhere and hitting his neck.

Squealing, she immediately dropped her fans and squatted down; covering her arms from what she thought would be a gruesome sight. Rather, the body disappeared, turning into a swirling black mass that quickly dissipated, leaving the glowing red soul behind.

The twins returned to their human forms, laughing at their technician. “Kang Ling! Kang Ling~ It’s okay!” coaxed Rainer as Caine bent down to pick up the glowing ball.

“So,” began the younger boy, grinning, “Who gets the soul?”

“UUUUUUUU. ;;;”

(( Everyone's acting slightly different because they're on a mission. ^^;; And their first mission, so they're not that close yet. And the thing about what happened with the murderer's soul is just what I saw from the anime. ;;;;;; ))

The trio lives in a small two-bedroom house. Obviously, the twins bunk together in one room while Kang Ling sleeps in the other. The place is kept painstakingly clean by Kang. She takes care of cleaning the house while the boys take care of the other chores.

As Maka mentioned in the series (can't remember where, but she did! OTL;; ), Soul Resonance with more than one weapon is difficult. However, it would be possible because the twins care for Kang Ling like a little sister while Kang Ling looks up to them as older brothers (and better than her actual brother -shot-).

Concerning what actually happens during the Soul Resonance, I'm not definite yet. ;; Though I think the fans would probably double in size and be way sharper, like, sharp as a blade. And then of course the super cool glowing effect. xD

OR YOU KNOW. THE TWO FANS GROW BIG AND CONNECT TO MAKE A GIANT FRISBEE OF DEATH. 8|
