Call it a one-shot, call it a fanfic, call it "the crap that comes out of my pen at three o'clock in the morning"... but it's Naruhina. wink Enjoy the insanity that is my imagination.
Hinata felt like the world was spinning around her like a disco-ball. She staggered a little and leaned against a telephone poll. Why had she taken that drink? Kiba had looked far too smug... he'd spiked it. The Hyuuga woman was positive that was precisely what he had done. And then when she agreed to play strip-poker... oh gods, she hoped none of this came back to haunt her. If she couldn't remember anything in the morning, it would be a blessing. Hinata pushed herself away from the steadying presence of the telephone pole and walked haltingly back down the street. This was the right direction... right? There seemed to be someone ahead, leaning against the wall. Maybe they could help her home. Hinata pushed her midnight-dark hair out of her face. If she ever got her hands on Kiba she would... probably apologize. "Kami-sama, I'm so spineless..." she muttered, wishing she had the coordination to kick herself. But of course any attempt at self-punishment would probably end in a concussion and a lecture from Sakura. The person in front of her seemed to have noticed the way she swayed, and was coming toward her. Oh good... maybe he can... he can.......
Naruto watched Hinata walk down the street toward him. What was wrong with her? Was she injured? No... she just seemed dizzy. Really dizzy. In fact with that flush... Oh for the love of... she's drunk! Naruto was torn between laughter and worry. He'd seen Jiraiya get drunk too many times not to know what it looked like. Pushing himself away from the wall, where he'd been waiting for Kiba (the dog-nin had said something about a plan tonight) Naruto caught Hinata's arm as she staggered again. "Are you alright, Hinata?"
Hinata felt like she was going to throw up. Naruto! It was Naruto! How could she let him see her like this? "I'm... I'm f-fine, N-N-Naruto-kun." The woman's voice was unusually clear for being drunk. Her mind was working unusually well too... She could feel his body pressed against hers as he supported her, and suddenly, Hinata felt the irresistible urge to laugh. It came out as a sort of giggle. "S-sorry... shouldn't let you see me like this," Hinata giggled, somehow succeeding in looking into Naruto's azure eyes without passing out.
... unusually talkative tonight, aren't we? Naruto couldn't help but grin at her as he shifted his position, lifting Hinata easily onto his back so he could carry her. She was oddly light... and very soft. A light dusting of pink on his whiskered cheeks startled him. Why was he thinking like that? This was his friend, not some random girl... "What happened anyway? You don't seem like the drinking type, Hinata." He heard her giggle again and wondered why she never laughed. It was a cute laugh, not like Sakura's sarcastic snort. "Kiba-kun s-spiked my tea..." she mumbled, wrapping her arms around his chest. "What about you? You never talk about yourself." That was an oddly astute observation. Come to think of it, Naruto had never heard Hinata carry on a lucid conversation with anyone. I guess I'm just lucky.
Hinata wondered vaguely why she had never been able to talk to him before. He was so nice... so thoughtful... so brave... she breathed in his scent, smiling to herself. "Y'know, I've always liked you," she informed him abruptly. She felt him freeze and giggled again. Wow... she was SO drunk. Naruto spoke slowly, sounding somewhat confused. "Liked me? What do you mean?" Hinata happily explained exactly what she meant. "You're kind, Naruto-kun. You notice things that others don't about people. You trust in others... you're brave and strong and kind..." Oh great... even her drunk mind could figure out she was repeating herself. But for some reason, the expected embarrassment didn't come. She giggled again. "I think I've been in love with you for a long time, Naruto-kun..."
Naruto sighed slightly at her last words. Yes, she must just be very drunk. Who in their right minds would love him after all? For a moment, he'd thought maybe she was serious. But no... shifting his grip on her legs, Naruto started walking again. This would all be sorted out in the morning, he was sure........

All I can say is "Wow"
That is some kind of insane imagination you have there. I know that it would not come true because I don't think Hinata would ever be drunk.

Hm... one for and one against. Even I can't imagine this next part happening. Though apparently the dirt-on-a-stick that I call my imagination can see it clearly.
Hinata moaned as she came to. Her head pounded like a war-drum, feeling as if someone had stuffed it with cotton and set it on fire. Crap... why did her head hurt like this? Last night... what had happened last night? Hinata put her hands over her eyes, rubbing her temples gingerly. The young woman could remember nothing from the previous night, except for that fact that Kiba, Tenten, Lee, Neji, and Chouji had all been there, at that restaurant. No, wait... it hadn't been a restaurant. It was Tenten's apartment. Or Kiba's? The Hyuuga couldn't remember. A celebration for another successful mission or something. "Hinata, are you feeling ok?" Ooh, that voice. It hurt her head. But dutifully, Hinata lowered her hands and answered. "I feel fine, thank you N-...... N....." Yellow hair. Blue eyes. Orange and black jacket. Naruto.
Naruto sat in that blasted wooden chair, as he had all night and well into the morning. Hiashi had threatened to kill him in the worst way imaginable if he didn't stay around to apologize. Apologize for WHAT? He hadn't been the one to spike Hinata's drink! But this was what he got for carrying the giggling woman all the way back to the Hyuuga complex. Oh look... Hinata was waking up. It looked like she had quite the hangover. Was this her first time drinking? It wouldn't surprise him at all. "Hinata, are you feeling ok?" Well if that wasn't the Stupid Question of the Century... She lowered her hands and focused on him with a faint, 'I'm fine' smile on her lips. You know, she was actually kind of pretty when she smiled. "I feel fine, thank you N-...... N....." Naruto watched, fascinated, as all the color drained from her face. Her lavender eyes (though they had no visible pupils) seemed to dilate with- was if fear? No, it was some other expression. He couldn't identify it. "N-Naruto-kun!" His name escaped her throat as a kind of squeak, and all the color that had previously fled her cheeks now rushed back, turning them a lovely shade of pink. "W-w-what are you d-doing here?"
Hinata was appalled, then horribly embarrassed. What was Naruto doing here, in the Hyuuga complex? Now that she bothered to take note of her surroundings, she could tell she was in the infirmary, not in her room. But- more than why was HE here... why was SHE here? "I carried you home last night, Hinata. Don't you remember?" Carried her? It was even worse than she'd dared to fear! Why had he needed to carry her? Hinata trembled slightly, her blush darkening. Shaking her head, she seemed to shrink into herself. "I-I'm s-s-sorry, N-Naruto-kun, I d-don't remember." Naruto didn't look unhappy. In fact his blue eyes were twinkling slightly. Was he amused? It seemed so. "I never took you for such a heavy drinker, Hinata." Oh gods... drinking?! Hinata nearly fainted. Was that why she couldn't remember?
"I d-didn't... I-I f-f-felt... b-b-but you..." Naruto grinned. The poor girl was stuttering so badly she couldn't string three words together. She was a fun tease. "Don't worry, Hinata. I didn't mean-" It was too late. She had already passed out. Oh, he hoped Hiashi hadn't seen that....
More To Come Eventually...

Ni! Three to one now, eh? Let's see what else my twisted imagination can churn out, shall we?
As a side note, yes I do have a FF account. wink Why do you ask, Hina?
Hinata was still in something of a daze. It had been near three days since she had woken up and Naruto had apologized (who knew what for though) and promised to 'make it up' to her. She wasn't sure what to expect. And then there were all the obscure comments and stifled laughter from Kiba, Neji, and Tenten. Someone had said something about 'nice body once you get to see it' and she wasn't exactly sure what that meant either. Nothing was making sense any more. So now she continued with her errand, taking the message her father had written to the Hokage. But of course, Tsunade wasn't in her office, and Shizune had been in a tizzy about that- so Hinata had promised to go find the Lady Hokage before something went seriously wrong. She had started peeking into bars, remembering that Tsunade liked to drink and gamble...
Naruto watched the indigo-haired young woman with a smirk on his face. This was far too much of an opportunity to pass up. She was so much fun to tease! But... the blonde hesitated. What would it accomplish, other than making him feel guilty for making her faint? With a sigh, he hopped off the roof and approached Hinata from behind, his hands in his pockets. She was really pretty, now that he looked at her in that light... "Oi, Hinata!" He smiled as she jumped and turned around, the inevitable blush staining her cheeks pink. "Naruto-kun!" She looked startled, her dark hair still twirling with her rapid motion. When it settled, she pushed it out of her face. He noted that it reached her elbows now... "Who are you looking for? Maybe I can help you."
Hinata felt her heart beating a rapid tattoo against her ribcage, like it was trying to escape and leap into the open air. It always felt like this around Naruto. At his question, she looked a little relieved and even managed to smile a little. "I w-was looking for L-Lady Tsunade... it s-seems that she has wandered away f-from her office and Shizune-senpai sent me t-to look for her." Naruto looked intrigued and chuckled. The young woman felt her blush darken with pleasure as her heart skipped a beat. She liked it when he laughed. "So Granny's snuck off for a drink, hm? Follow me. I think I know where she is." Naruto led the way, looking so confident that Hinata couldn't help but trust him. She padded quietly after him, playing 'touch-and-go' with her fingers as she sometimes did when nervous. The blonde eventually stopped outside a tiny bar near the edge of town, a triumphant smirk on his whiskered face.
"See? I told you." Indeed, there was the Hokage, yelling at the bartender about jacking his prices for a single customer. Naruto was surprised when Hinata entered the little establishment, capturing the attention of the barkeep almost immediately. It was clear that he rarely had a pretty girl in his bar. "May I 'elp you miss?" he asked in an oily tone, ignoring the Hokage's glare. "No... I am mere here to run an errand." Hinata smiled sweetly at him and the man turned a funny shade of pink. Ignoring him, the dark-haired woman turned to Tsunade. "Tsunade-sama, Miss Shizune is looking for you, and is rather unhappy that you left." The blonde woman seemed as stunned by Hinata's lack of stutter as Naruto was, outside. The young man could only gape at her. He would have thought that facing up to a shady character like that bartender (though he really wasn't shady at all, just a little misunderstood) would have been much more conducive to stuttering than talking to him. She seemed so... calm.... "Um... right. Thank you, Hinata..." Looking a little uncertain, the blonde woman stood to leave. The bartender immediately went on the offensive again. "'Ey! You can't just waltz out of 'ere without paying your bill!" "Oh, yes I can," snapped Tsunade, looking angry, "if I want to-" But Amazingly, Hinata silenced her with a look. Calmly, she turned to face the barkeep. "How much does she owe you, if I might ask?"
Hinata waited patiently as the man pulled a note from his pocket and handed it to her, looking puzzled. This was stuff she could handle. This was money and stubborn people- things that her training as heir to the Hyuuga clan had taught her to deal with. From somewhere in her baggy jacket, Hinata withdrew a small purse, and from it several bills and some small coins. These she handed to the bartender with a smile. "That should cover her debt." Turning to Tsunade, the dark-haired shinobi smiled. "Shall we, Hokage-sama?" The blonde woman had apparently shaken off her surprise and nodded in a business-like manner, marching out of the bar forthwith. Hinata passed Naruto as she followed Tsunade, glanced at him, and blushed, immediately averting her eyes. Had he seen her do that? Of course he had- he wasn't blind. What would he think of her now? "That was... cool." His soft, slightly awed compliment reached her ears, and she could only slant him a startled sidelong look. Is that what he thought? She didn't know why he thought that... but it made her feel good. She blushed with pleasure and looked away again. Maybe... just maybe... there was hope after all.
To be continued... again...

Hmm... I have a feeling I'm going to keep this thread going as long as I still have crack-ish material for it. Lol, on to the next bit, eh?
I've been playing with this idea for a while now... tell me what you think.
Bars. All around, strong iron bars. They kept him in. Sealed off his power. Prevented him from wreaking endless, beautiful chaos upon the world. The Kyuubi didn't bother trying to break those bars; he'd tried too many times before. It was a waste of time. So the beast laid back in his jail and watched the world through his host's eyes, unable to effect it or him in any great way. Kyuubi waited. The boy was in some sort of a restaurant, one that he'd been in may times before. Ichiraku's Ramen or whatever it was. But he wasn't eating. It amused Kyuubi to see the human pack away seemingly endless quantities of food... a couple of stray thoughts informed the Fox that his host was waiting. For what? A girl. Ah... that dark-haired female. The demon chuckled to himself. He had watched her. It was painfully obvious to anyone that she was head-over-heels for the idiot. But of course the boy didn't notice a thing.
Ah, there she was. She looked nervous as always, blushing furiously as his host pulled a stool out for her. He was trying to be polite, but etiquette had never been his strong point. Kyuubi growled faintly, noting that the boy's heart rate was going up. It was only a slight change, but the beast knew the inner workings of his host intimately. Did his host have... feelings for this girl? That was interesting. Worthy of note. The Fox could use strong emotions of any kind to break through this cursed seal, but anger was the most convenient. And perhaps if he damaged this girl on his next trip outward... the idea had potential. Kyuubi watched passively as the two humans passed a dull hour or two eating, talking and generally doing nothing in his interest. When they finally parted ways, the demon sent a subtle nudge to his host's thoughts. Violence was good. It was desirable. Of course, it was garbled in translation and as always, the boy went to 'train'. Beating the crap out of logs and things was better than nothing, he supposed......
