Poems
Old:
Winter Wisdom
He sat on a park bench
One crisp, velvety night
With no one around,
Not even a light
Staring at the concrete
So close to his perch
He sat lost in thought
Under the lone park birch.
He couldn’t see, couldn’t feel
Desolate in his grief.
He had lost his one love
All due to a lousy thief.
The puffs of mist from his breath
Reminded him that he was alive
Instead of his dear beloved
Who hadn’t survived.
How long he sat there
He couldn’t tell,
Then he saw a movement,
A snowflake had fell.
Just like the man
It lay there alone.
Forlorn and lost
He let out a moan.
Then another fell,
Landed next to the other.
They looked alike,
Just like a brother.
They lay there not long
Until he saw
The first one that landed
Had started to thaw.
Within a second
It was gone,
Nothing was left
And it was nearly dawn.
A snowflake lay still
Only one was left now.
The man sat there
Wondering why and how?
Yet another movement
Caught his eye.
More snowflakes were falling
From the near light sky.
He sat there just watching,
That one no longer lonely.
The flakes kept falling,
It was no longer the only.
The man sat there
Watching them fall,
Then he smiled to himself,
Gazing at the all.
He got up from his lonesome Seat
And started walking home.
He joined the morning crowd,
Remembering that the snowflake was no longer alone.
Eternity
A vampire’s bite
One fateful night
Will damn you for eternity,
But you can’t fight.
You feel his gaze,
The predator of the night,
You try to escape
Darkness’s prey of light.
He can smell you, give in
Blood rushing
You want it, need it
To end this fiery lusting.
His power your chains,
Your yearning the cuffs
No thought of pain
His eyes are enough.
Eyes dull and close,
Emotions turn cold,
Blood runs dry
Into the abyss untold.
Replaced by silence,
Your heart stills
His fangs retreat,
Signaling his fill.
A cut is made,
The taste unreal,
A sinful wine,
The death kiss a seal
Till the end of time. . .
Listen
Look into my eyes
Listen to my words
You can't resist me
I know you
You're trapped
Don't fight me
Do as I say
Live by my Law
Worship me
You can't run
You can't hide
I'll find you
Drink your blood
Take your soul
I'll consume you
Don't fight
No resisting
Succumb to me
Your life is Mine
I am your Master
I control you
Listen to me. . .
