The reason its so difficult for other countries to control the Palace is because it flies.Because it flies,it has the advantage of sky attacks,though the Palace isn't very offensive,though being that its in the sky it has a very good defense.

Bio: Once an assassin from Hollowed Pass several centuries ago, Xia Fang has been a loyal retainer of any Palace Guardian, acting as whatever is needed, from lover to voice of opinion. However, even though the Guardians change, he still holds his loyalty.

"So this is where ya been," a voice said from the hall leading outside. Xia Fang, the Guardian's retainer stood there, his arms crossed comfortably over his chest. His eyes looked out over the sky for a moment. For now, it was silent, but he knew, all too well, that things would change. However, today that wasn't his concern.
"Master, you got business to attend to. The Captain of your guard wants to see you for something." Xia Fang's speech wasn't what most would call polite in the face of someone like the Guardian, but he alone could get away with it.

"He's this way," Xia said, seemingly coming out from nowhere. Another reason why some said he was a demon. He lead the way to one of the rooms used for things other than prayer. He pushed open the door and stepped back so Veilus could enter. Sitting in a guest chair was the captain, his hands resting on his helmet. He stood when he saw his lord enter and bowed.

"My lord, it's in regards to my men honestly. Because of where we are, fighting hasn't been a big issue for so long, that, well, I'm afraid your soldiers have gone stale. We still train and do mock battles, but..." The man frowned and shook his head a little. "Is there anything that you can think of to help them be prepared?"
From where Xia Fang stood by the doorway, he could tell, even from under a layer of steel and iron, that the captain was also a bit out of practice.

The captain looked to Veilus and stared a moment. Even the Guardian's retainer was a bit surprised. It was a first the the guardian made the first move, or at least helped to initiate it.
"That... That may work my lord!" the man said, looking actually happy to have something productive to do. "We will do so then. I shall inform the soldiers at once." He bowed again, placed his helmet back on his head, saluted this time, then left. Xia heard the clanking of the armor as he hurried out the temple. When it was quiet, Xia spoke.
"Should I go out with them, or wait with you? Unlike them, I'm still in shape. 'Sides, I ain't bored here." He blindly reached in the bag that hardly ever left his side and pulled out a small papery stick. He examined then looked up. "Ya mind?" Even now, Xia still asked if he could smoke, even though the answer was always the same.

Xia smirked and pushed away from the wall, lighting the cigarette; a special kind of his own making. He took a drag then let out the thick blueish smoke and followed. He, too, enjoyed the air of the place. It was nice and cool, and smelled clean too.

He was silent a moment. He thought it was rather a hasty decision when there had been no word of any of the other vying kingdoms making a move. But then something came to him.
"Yeah though I don't think it a bad idea for the soldiers to get a little ground time. Keep the place in the air but send the guys out anyway. They do need a little workout." Xia looked to the one he served then.
"Just have them join any army as simple volunteers. That way they can get what they need and not really be obligated to fight against us. Volunteers are just that, they don't have to stay if they don't want to." Xia turned his back on the open sky and leaned against the railing, gazing upward at the more wispy clouds. He blew out more smoke and watched it curl up in the air.
"But then again, that's just my opinion," he added.

(g'morning! *yawn*)

The retainer smirked and shook his head. Not in declining but at the mere fact of his lord actually bringing it up. "Ya know, I wouldn't mind that. Been a bit bored lately really," he replied. He licked two of his fingers and pinched the tip of the cigarette, putting it out. Then he put it back in his bag carefully and straightened.
