With the movie coming out on Wednesday, I thought I'd make a thread!
As for what I expect? I think it will be shite for canon, but it will be pretty and flashy, and Tom Felton will be another level sexier even though he looks snotty when he's crying in the bathroom. All in all, I actually want to go see it. Half-Blood Prince wasn't my favourite book because it seemed to me to read like an almost decent fanfic, but it's still Harry Potter, and that's all good. =D
So... anyone else have thoughts?

I don't expect it to follow the book very well, but I always enjoy the movies for the special effects and everything. *nod* And if you look at the movies as a loose interpretation or even a separate entity from the books, they're pretty enjoyable.
So I'm looking forward to getting to see it. Won't be Wednesday; I never get to things on opening day. Will probably be in a couple weeks or so.

*pets Wifey* Only reason I'm seeing it on Wednesday is because Dad's hell bent on seeing it then. o_o Harry Potter is one of the hobbies we share.
I'll be sure not to spoil anything for you. ^^

I don't usually have high expectations for the HP movies. Just as long as they're not complete bastardizations then I'm happy. I won't be seeing it anytime soon though. I don't like the crowds.

... Is it bad that we're content with the movie status quo? I mean, I remember when they first started coming out that people were up in arms over the canon, but now... Now it's like "just as long as it doesn't completely suck, we're okay!"

It's not so much that. I actually think the level of perfection fans want is beyond unreasonable. If they were to please fans, we'd be sitting down for a 6+ hour long movie. Movies have to be a certain amount of time long and lots of things from the books won't make the cut.
Sure, we shouldn't just accept everything that's fed to us, but often times fans want the impossible. And what are we gonna do, boycott? That would never happen in a weak society like ours that needs its entertainment fix.

I wasn't really being serious. I just find it somewhat amusing.
I don't want the movies to be just like the books. The movies are movies and it's fun to see the different directors' visions of Hogwarts.

Maybe I'll get to see it in theater this time I missed the last one. sweatdrop However, it depends on things whether I'll get to but who knows. It looks like it could be really good but I don't know. I guess I'll see when I see it...whenever that will be.

You finally posted. xp I'm not sure if I'm even gonna see it anymore. Going alone I think is just too much for me.
