Amandine's apartment.

Typically this apartment looks vastly different from the others even though it's of the same exact layout. In part it could be due to all the stuff or simply the general chaos of it all. Organization and cleanliness of the apartment ranges on the residen't's recent moods and activities. It is quite obvious that Amadine has no real sense of decoration and doesn't even really give a damn about it.

The walls of the living room are hidden behind bookshelves filled with books of varying sizes and subjects as varying as the sort a library would have as well as dragon models or toys of varying types here and there. Only none of it is organized in any sort of sensible way and books lay stacked on the edges of shelves or on the floor while huge gaps between books on the shelves indicate where they once belonged. Several more books are stacked open on the table set out in the dining room with half-finished art and scribbled notes. Scattered on the table are soda cans of varying brands as well as other drink containers and hanging overthe backs of or stacked on three of the four chairs around the table are articles of clothing that were hastily folded. A heavy brown cloak hangs off the back of one of the three while a medium-sized men's leather jacket dangles from the back of the fourth chair with a dark blue scarf thrown over it. Leaning against a bare spot on the wall between two bookshelves under the Megatokyo "Capture the B34R poster" is a 35" schlager with a sweeping cage hilt in a sheath as well as a shorter dagger with a hand guard and a baton with padded ends. Sitting just below them is a fencing mask with a cloth hood velcroed on and gloves with long cuffs tucked inside.

The kitchen area itself is typically the cleanest and most organized, however it's typically filled with stuff as well. On the counter is a medium-sized rice cooker, a can filled with chopsticks, a large cast-iron wok, a pressure cooker, a crockpot, a water heater, several teapots of varying sizes, a box of tissues and a stack of paper napkins stolen from various eateries. Sitting in the corner of the kitchen are three bags of different kinds of rice: long-grain white rice, jasmine rice and balsamic rice. Near the sink is a tall standing trashcan usually filled with a variety of trash and usually needing to be disposed of. Stacked in a large cube behind the sink are rinsed out soda cans for recyling at a later date.

Of all the rooms the bed and bathrooms are the most spartan. Spread out on the floor of the bedroom against a corner is a large queen-sized mattress with tousled mismatching blankets tossed on top of it while books are stacked nearby. A laptop is plugged in near the bed and a mess of wires and electronics covers a good five foot square section of the floor. Glowing 24/7 -- except when there's the chance of a surge -- is the LED light of an external hard drive, a small printer and a pair of small plug-in speakers. Also plugged into the two surge-protected power strips is a small desk lamp and a clock. Covering the walls of the room are old drawings with faint scribblings and sketches or refrence pictures with the exception of one large section where a massive Iori wall scroll hangs.

The bathroom itself has no decorations, but it is something resembling a disaster zone. Toiletries litter the room and towels or clothes are drying on every available surface. Then by the doorway is a small rack for shoes as well as the three other pairs of shoes that the owner is not wearing at the moment -- typically a pair of dress shoes, sandals and flip-flops since she's usually wearing sneakers.

In the relatively dark apartment a lone figure stood on the balcony covered in a massive and heavy red cloak. Almost everything had been unplugged to prevent damage from surges despite the amount of surge-protected power-strips in the rooms. Lighting flashed and the figure leaned forward over the railing, holding tight to prevent accidental falling, and chapped lips moved silently as they counted the seconds before the roll of thunder.

Dark brown eyes that shifted from nearly black to the warm brown the same color as light through rootbeer each time lighting flashed peered out from under the rapidly darkening brocaded cloth that was the outer layer of the hood. In comparison to the rest of the residents at the Heights the figure was a bit on the shorter side, standing at 5'3"ish. Lacking things to compare her height to, she appeared to be taller the way thinner people tend to seem taller when not compared to any height refrences. Although her legal name -- and the name that many knew her by -- was Amandine, the reason why she went by the nickname Akai was apparent in only the cloak at the moment.

Earlier she had gotten dressed to go to an SCA fencing practice, only to realize that the rumbles and flashes of light were not from the city itself but rather the weather. Instead of changing out of a matching red and gold doublet, white linnen shirt and wine red pants she had opted to continue wearing it just in case it hadn't gotten canceled. It was several hours since she had woken up, though, and it had been canceled but by that point she was simply too lazy to change.

Besides. She liked the way the fitted doublet looked.
