The apartment of Quinn, assistant manager of the complex.
While it is laid out the same as the other apartments with a single bedroom, her style of decoration marks it as decidedly her own. The living room has an imitation suede couch, as comfortable to sit on as it is soft to the touch. Soft, neutral hues and sumptuous textures make the place pleasing to both the eye and the fingers.
The kitchen is fully functional, as Quinn is quite the chef. A minor garden of herbs crowding beneath the window for the light.
Usually the door to the bedroom is closed, but those that have seen the inside (assuming they were in a state to pay attention to the decor) would have seen rich purples and reds, the same taste for color and texture that fills the rest of her apartment.

Vega followed the Quinn toward the stairs, easily matching her pace, although maybe not the oh-so-nice sway of the girl's hips. "Hey, as long as it's food and I don't have to make it, then I'm bound to enjoy it. And chicken's always a good choice."
When Quinn turned around and walked down the stairs backwards, Vega arched an eyebrow and smirked. "Hmph.. showoff," she said jokingly. "So how long have you been assistant manager?"

"Show off? Just wait until I'm trying to walk on my hands, that's showing off. Course, I only try that when I'm really hammered. Hmm... Now that I think about it, I'm not sure my stove works, the power's only half on. Burgers okay?"
A soft laugh, and she continued to the next question, letting Vega into her apartment. "As long as the place has been open. Alex, the owner? and I have been friends since we were knee high to a puddle duck."
The rooms were dark, as she'd turned her lights off at the advent of the power outage. There was enough dim light she could maneuver well enough and flip the light in the entryway on. "Don't want to turn on too much, or we'll kill the generator. Okay. Tadaa! This is my place. Want something to drink?"

"Yeah, burgers are fine. And I'll have to remember that 'hammered' comment. Should prove entertaining if I ever find myself too bored." At the mention of Alex, Vega realized she hadn't met her yet, only spoken to her while she was setting up the deal on her apartment.
Once the light was one, Vega scanned the the living room. It was much more put together than her own but Quinn probably had more money to work with. "Very nice. Hmm? Oh, sure. Just whatever you have will be fine. Surprise me."

Walking into her kitchen, Quinn opened up the fridge, regarding the beverages within. She didn't know how old Vega was, which was both reason not to and excuse to offer her something more interesting than a soda. Alex would beat her soundly though if she gave in to her devils. Brushing imaginary floating versions of herself (one in white and one in red of course) from her shoulders, Quinn grabbed two Mt. Dews from the shelf, as well as a package of hamburger.
"Here." A smile and she set the cans on the counter nearest Vega, putting the hamburger on a different counter. It was soon joined by mushrooms and green onions before the fridge was closed again. "Do you mind onion and mushrooms?"
Washing her hands, Quinn grabbed a knife and sliced the hamburger package open, putting the meat into bowls in order to mix it with the other vegetables if Vega approved of them.

"Thanks." Vega popped the tab on the soft drink and took a drink before setting it down again. "Those are fine." Her hands began to idly play with the tab, pushing it back and forth a couple of times, before the weak metal broke off. When she realized she had freed it, she slipped the tab into her jeans pocket.
She leaned on the counter, most of her weight being supported by her forearms, as she watched Quinn begin taking the ingredients from the fridge. Vega absently tucked a stray piece of blonde hair behind her ear. "You need any help with that? I promise I'll try not to botch it up too badly." Another grin crossed her lips that was temporarily blocked by her taking another sip of Mt. Dew.
"On second thought, maybe that's not such a great idea. One of two things happens when I attempt to work in a kitchen." She once again set the can down so she could emphasize her point by a show of fingers. "One: I cut and/or burn myself or Two: the food sucks. Hell, half the time it's 'All of the above.'"

"I've got it covered. Believe it or not, helping to manage an apartment complex is only one of my hobbies. Another happens to be cooking good food for pretty girls." With a grin, she whipped a knife out, grinning at Vega from the other side of it.
Easily, she chopped both mushrooms and green onions into smaller portions, mixing them into the hamburger with her bare hands. Once done with that, she shaped the meat into patties.
"You a cheese person or no?" Washing her hands, Quinn pushed the two burgers aside temporarily. It would be a little bit until her wee barbeque in theback would be hot enough to cook them properly. Had she been thinking, she would have started that before making the burgers.

"Oh is that so?" Vega arched her eyebrow again, almost skeptically, and grinned again as well. "And here I thought I was getting special treatment. But alas, I am simply part of some play-girl's hobby." Her tone was joking and she let out an exaggerated, rueful sigh. A second later she brushed off her 'sorrow' with a shrug. "Oh well.. at least I'm getting food out of it."
She continued to watch Quinn work about the kitchen preparing the food and nodded 'yes' to her question. "Yeah I like cheese."

Quinn grinned for a moment. In a way it was special treatment, she was on strict orders from Alex not to flirt too seriously with any of the girls in the complex. Something about professionalism and mixing the workplace with her private life. Usually those lextures went in one ear and out the other.
"Just don't tell Alex." She shuffled around in the inside of her fridge, pulling out a pie-slice-shaped block of cheese, crlumbling off enough for the two burgers.
Once she had that out, she walked to the wee patio behind the sliding glass door, unlocking and the opening the portal to look out on the inclement weather. She couldn't bring the mini barbeque inside, so she simply dragged it near the door and under as much of the overhang as she could manage. The water still dripped rather liberally on the thing, but it lit and stayed lit, leaving enough dry area to fit the two burgers.

"Tell Alex what? That you're feeding me? I thought it should become something of a community service the residents here could do. You know, a kind of good deed for the week. 'Feed the starving artist.' Sounds like a good plan to me." Vega smirked as she took another sip of her soda. She was joking of course, at least on some level.

"So you're an artist? I don't suppose I can get a glimpse at the gallery sometime. I've got a few connections if you were interested in actually getting put up in a gallery at all."
The wee barbeque was hot and ready, and Quinn grabbed a spatula from a drawer and carried the plate with cheese and burgers over to the door, somehow managing to balance her soda as well. Once they were on the barbeque, Quinn settled on the ground near the door, letting the cool air wash in from the door and over her.
Crouched as she was, there was something athletic and artistic about the pose, one leg stretched out in front of her, the other pulled close against her chest. Her head was turned toward the door slightly, and for just a moment, a quiet, wistful look crossed over her expression. With just a red sports bra and tank top over there, her chest made it a little obvious that the incoming breeze was cool, but otherwise it could have been a summer shower during a barbeque.

Vega shrugged, "Yeah I am. And I have all of my work in my room so just stop by whenever and you can see it." She watched as Quinn moved the plate of burgers over to the grill. "I'd love to have my work in a gallery, but my stuff is really not that great."
As she sat there waiting for the burgers to cook her eyes once again fell over Quinn. Moments like these made her berate herself for not carrying a sketchbook with her at all times. It never failed, the moment she was actually struck by inspiration she had nothing to draw on. If she were to leave and retrieve her sketchbook Quinn will probably move or even more likely know that she was sketching her. Vega preferred to work when no one knew she was watching, it captured the moment better, like how candid pictures were often better than planned ones.
So, there she was, staring a bit more than was polite at Quinn as tried to commit the image before her to memory, taking in the little details. Of course, her figure didn't make that too difficult for Vega, rather pleasing in fact. As soon as she returned to her room she would sketch it out.

A playful sort of grin flitted across Quinn's features as she turned her head just a tad to look once again at Vega. "Don't you love the smell of the rain? Too bad it'll turn to snow soon. I'm not much of a cold weather person. Just want to hibernate."
Idly, she flipped the burgers, half-watching her new friend from the corner of her eye. Vega was certainly not the only one to enjoy the view, however Quinn, in a way, had to be much more discreet about it. As only assistant manager, there wasn't much she COULD do if a relationship went sour, and Quinn wasn't a vengeful person as it was. Still...

Vega averted her gaze as Quinn turned to look at her. She had hoped she'd be quick enough to avoid being caught but her mind had been else where. However her intentions were strictly art related.
...Okay, maybe not so strict but it did make a nice excuse.
"Really? I love cold weather and snow is like an added bonus. You get to bundle up in warm coats and blankets and have hot chocolate and tea.. C'mon, you can't say that stuff is all that bad."

"I like hot chocolate just fine, but I usually can't warm up once I get cold. Blankets coats or nothing. I want snow, but to avoid having to put on a thousand layers just to keep my fingers from detaching from the rest of my hand." A soft laugh and she checked the burgers one more time. "No, I'm just not a cold weather person. I'd live where it never snowed if I could get away with it. But I like the people here. So I'm happy."
